Here is another reference to Shangmo Dorje Putri by Pastor Niral Patel.

Question asked by Margo

Are there statues of Yumar Gyaltsen and Shangmo Dorje Putri on the Dorje Shugden alter at Kechara Forest retreat?
I under stand there are statues of Kache Marpo, Namkar Barzin and Methar on that alter.

Reply by Pastor Niral Patel

Dear Margo,

There are no statues of Yumar Gyaltsen and Shangmo Dorje Putri on the main altar of Wisdom Hall in Kechara Forest Retreat.

Yumar Gyaltsen is however represented on the altar in the form Kache Marpo, because they are simply too forms of the same being. Yumar Gyaltsen is also the site protector of Panglung Ritroe, here in Kechara Forest Retreat. An image of Shangmo Dorje Putri is kept at Tsem Ladrang (Rinpoche’s personal household). I hope this helps.

Hopeful we will soon see a statue of Shangmo Dorje Putri on the main alter of Wisdom Hall beside Kache Marpo, Namkar Barzin and Methar.

This is from a post I wrote on this website on June 21, 2018.

The FEMALE Dharmapala "Shangmo" is a member of Dorje Shugden's retinue
« on: June 21, 2018, 11:49:46 PM »

Many of you may not be aware of the fact that there is a female Dharmapala found in Dorje Shugden's retinue.

Her full name is "Shangmo Dorje Putri" and she is in Kache Marpo's retinue along with Methar and Yumar Gyalchen who is the "Peaceful" emanation of Kache Marpo".

"Shang" is the name of her town in Tsang Province, Tibet.

"Mo" means "Woman", "Dorje" means "Diamond" and "Putri" means "Razor".

"Shangmo Dorje Putri" translates into the "Diamond Razor Woman from Shang".

On March 19, 2016 Pastor Niral Patel wrote an article about her on Tsem Tulku's website.

Here is the link to that article.

http://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/shangmo-dorje-putri-the-bamo-of-sakya.html

I have included below the most relevant aspect of his article.

Quote
Shangmo Dorje Putri also has a small connection to the Gelug lineage as well, through Kyabje Domo Geshe Rinpoche (1866-1936 CE), as Rinpoche was also from the Shang area. Shangmo Dorje Putri followed Domo Geshe Rinpoche to his Dungkar Monastery. There, Domo Geshe Rinpoche, bound her again. This time she made the oath of protecting the monastery. When Domo Geshe Rinpoche travelled to India on pilgrimage, he setup another monastery known as Gaden Tharpa Choling Monastery in Kalimpong. It was there that the storekeeper of the monastery asked Shangmo Dorje Putri to protect the ration store room of the monastery. She remained there protecting the store room until the monastery was renovated. After that she moved to the Mani Lhakang in the monastery where a special shrine was dedicated to her.
Although an independent Dharma protector, Shangmo Dorje Putri is under the control of the enlightened Dharma protector Kache Marpo and considered to be part of his entourage. In turn Kache Marpo is within the entourage of the Dharma protector Dorje Shugden. She is also known to take trance in trained oracles who can take trance of Dorje Shugden, Setrap and Kache Marpo.

I am also including an article written on this website written by "WisdonBeing" on January 13, 2012.

Here is the link to his article that includes a small section on "Shangmo Dorje Putri".

Quote
5. Shrine for Shangmo Dorje Bhuti: It is said that Shangmo was once a demon who disguised as a nomad woman. She was tamed by Sakya Gongma Rinpoche. Around 1902, Shangmo ESCAPED from the Sakya Monastery and followed Domo Geshe Rinpoche to Dungkar Gonpa, as Rinpoche also was the native of the same place, “Shang”. There at Dungkar Gonpa, she was bound under solemn oath to protect the monastery. In Tharpa Cholling, the storekeeper ordered Shangmo to protect the ration store room of Tharpa Choling monastery. Shangmo stayed in the store room up to the renovation of monastery. Now her abode has been shifted to Mani Lhagang with her special shrine.
Unquote

What I have found to be interesting is that "Shangmo" followed Domo Geshe Rinpoche to his monastery in Tibet.

She do so not out of anger or revenge but because he was a fellow citizen of "Shang".

She did not attack Domo Geshe Rinpoche or Dungkar Monastery and when Domo Geshe found out that her true intent was just to be with him he took pity on her.

He bound her by oath to protect him and Dungkar Monastery.

This way she would always be with Domo Geshe Rinpoche through all their lifetimes.

When Domo Geshe Rinpoche's Gaden Tharpa Choling Monastery needed her help she was instantly their to protect their monastery.

Domo Geshe Rinpoche out of total respect for "Shangmo" built a "Protector Chapel" for her at Gaden Tharpa Choling Monastery.

She has returned Rinpoche's kindness by taking "Trance" of his Oracles and other Dorje Shugden Oracles.

Pastor Patel's article claims that she is a "Bamo" a "Witch" and makes out that "Shangmo" is someone to be feared.

But all her interactions with Domo Geshe Rinpoche paints an entirely different picture of her.

With Domo Geshe Rinpoche and his monks she was "Peaceful" and "Help full".

I look at "Shangmo Dorje Putri" as a "White Bamo" and not a "Black Bamo".

Someone who will be kind and gentle to anyone who asks her help.

So for all the women readers of this article I hope that you will ask "Shangmo" for her help and guidance.

It is nice to see that Dorje Shugden has a "Female" Dharmapala in his ranks of Dharmapalas.

So now we know that Dome Geshe Rinpoche has gifted Dorje Shugden with not one but two Dharmapalas.

Shangmo Dorje Putri and Namkar Barzin.

Pray for the long life of the present incarnation of His Eminence Domo Geshe Rinpoche.

Question asked by Margo

Does Dorje Shugden's retinue included the following Dharmapalas?

1) Kache Marpo
2) Yumar Gyaltsen
3) Namkar Barzin
4) Methar
5) Shangmo Dorje Putri

Are there any other Dharmapalas that I may have missed?

Reply by pastor Niral Patel

Dear Margo,

Kache Marpo is part of Dorje Shugden’s entourage, and is known Dorje Shugden’s minister.

Yumar Gyaltsen is also in Dorje Shugden’s entourage because he is the peaceful form of Kache Marpo.

Namkar Barzin is also a part of Dorje’s Shugden’s entourage.

Both Methar and Shangmo Dorje Putri are under Kache Marpo, so by extension as he is Dorje Shugden’s minister, they are also part of Dorje Shugden’s entourage.

That covers the Dharma Protectors that we have information on.....
I hope this helps.

So Pastor Niral Patel has now officially stated that the Dharmapala Shangmo Dorje Shugden is part of Dorje Shugden's retinue.

We now have our first FEMALE Dharmapala in Dorje Shugden's retinue.

Here is a link to Pastor Niral Patel article on Tsem Tulku's website about Shangmo Dorje Putri.

Please pray for the swift return of His Eminence Tsem Tulku Rinpoche.

Why does Mr Kei fail to provide us with any “Direct Quotes” from the Dalai Lama’s speech??

Here is an example.

Quote
So, it came as a complete surprise when the Dalai Lama casually remarked in his January 2020 teaching that it was fine to worship Dorje Shugden as a birth deity (kye lha) or a land god (yul lha). Although the Dalai Lama persisted in questioning the historic status of Dorje Shugden as the Protector of Lama Tsongkapa’s lineage, his consent for the worship of the deity was a drastic reversal of official Tibetan policy that had stood for over two decades. The Dalai Lama had just ended a ban on the practice of Dorje Shugden that the Tibetan leadership had pursued aggressively since 1996.

There are absolutely no “First Person” direct quotes from the Dalai Lama in his article.

Just Mr Kei claiming this is what the Dalai Lama said about the "Lifting of the Ban".

WHY NO DIRECT QUOTES FROM THE DALAI LAMA MR KEI’S???

His totally failure to provide us with any direct quotes or any proof of the actual date and place of this so called “Lifting of the Ban”.

Were you present when the Dalai Lama made this so called statement?

If not then who are you quoting from as you source?

You did not quote from any newspaper or provide video proof.

You provided no follow up statement from either the Dalai Lama or his CTA.

Sorry Mr Kei’s without any proof from you I must now question if your article is in fact “Fake News”.

Please provide us with proof!!

Hello Pema8

I have requested the writer of the article you quote from a Mr. Kei to provide us with proof about the Dalai Lama making this official public statement lifting the ban on Dorje Shugden.

You can find my request to Mr Kei at  http://www.dorjeshugden.com/all-articles/the-dalai-lama-ends-the-dorje-shugden-ban/

The readers here and I are looking forward to Mr Kei's evidence about his claims.

Hello Pema8

The writer of the article you quote from, a Mr Kei states in his opening paragraph,

Quote

By: Shashi Kei
During a teaching in January this year, the Dalai Lama very casually overturned the ban on the practice of Dorje Shugden which he had instigated over twenty-three years ago. It was easy to miss the significance of what he said because of the incidental manner in which the Dalai Lama addressed the subject. However, to those attuned to the subtleties of the Dalai Lama’s manner of speaking, it was clear that the campaign which the Tibetan leadership had unleashed against Shugden Buddhists was at an end.

The fact that Mr Kei FAILS to tell us anything about the actual date, location and from whom he is quoting as a source to all of this is very very strange.

You can not find this information anywhere in Mr Kei's entire article.

Pema8 could you please tell me and the readers here where we can go to verify Mr Kei's claims??

If neither you nor Mr Kei's can verify these claims what are we to thing about the truth of this article??

There is NOWHERE on either the Dalai Lama's nor the CTA's websites anything about the "LIFTING OF THE BAN ON DORJE SHUGDEN!!

Hello Pema8

The article by Mr Kei stated that the Dalai Lama made this statement in January 2020.

Since that day I can not find any other mention of the Dalai Lama in the news repeating his “New Policy” on Dorje Shudgen.

Why has the Dalai Lama not publicly restated this “Pro” Dorje Shugden policy statement??

Why has the CTA NEVER publicly stated that they in agreement with the Dalai Lama and his new “Pro” Dorje Shugden policy statement??

Why has the Ministry of Education NEVER publicly stated that they are in agreement with the Dalai Lama and his new “Pro” Dorje Shugden policy statement??

To quote from Mr Kei’s article,

“During a teaching in January this year, the Dalai Lama very CASUALLY overturned the ban on the practice of Dorje Shugden which he had instigated over twenty-three years ago. IT WAS VERY EASY TO MISS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF WHAT HE SAID BECAUSE OF THE INCIDENTAL MANNER IN WHICH THE DALAI LAMA ADDRESSED THE SUBJECT….”

Yes, it was “VERY EASY TO MISS” not only on that day in Jan. 2020 but every day since.

The “SILENCE” of the Dalai Lama, his CTA and the Ministry of Religion speaks volumes on how serious they take this so called “Lifting of the ban on Dorje Shugden”!!

THEY DON’T!!

Pema8 can you explain to me and the readers the TOTAL SILENCE about all this from the Dalai Lama, his CTA and the Ministry of Religion??
69
Hello Pema8

It was nice that the banner was taken down but what about the 25 anti Dorje Shugden articles that to this very day still remain on the Dalai Lama's official website.

Can you explain why the Dalai Lama did not remove these 25 anti Dorje Shugden articles?

Mr Kei in his article stated;
Quote
Perhaps the best evidence that the Dalai Lama intended to end the persecution of Shugden believers is the sudden disappearance of the prominent ‘Dolgyal’ banner on the CTA’s website. That banner served as an ongoing official warning for Tibetans to not practice Dorje Shugden and to not associate with Shugden Buddhists. The simultaneous disappearance of the banner indicates that the Dalai Lama’s words were no mistake.

To sum up:
We respect everyone’s right to express their opinions freely. If the Shugden protestors believe they have legitimate concerns to discuss, we welcome the opportunity to address these in a civilized manner. However, since the professed reasons of the Shugden protestors – that there is a ban and that Tibetan Shugden worshippers are discriminated against – are baseless, many wonder what might be the real motive behind this campaign against His Holiness the Dalai Lama? Is it simply to defame the name of one of the world’s most respected spiritual leaders and the beloved leader of the Tibetan people? What really is behind this current campaign to undermine the Dalai Lama’s efforts to promote peace, human values and inter-religious understanding around the world? Who stands to gain by disparaging the Dalai Lama’s name?…
Those members who do not wish to abide by the monasteries’ internal regulations have now established their own communities. They were given land, infrastructural facilities, as well as a fair share of monasteries’ assets so that they could establish their own monasteries. Today, two such communities of Shugden worshipping monks – Shar Ganden Ling and Pompor Monastery – exist alongside the mainstream monasteries in the south Indian settlements. These two monasteries are totally free to practise worship of Shugden, while being part of the Tibetan exile community in southern India. This is an important fact anyone can witness on the ground….”

Clarifying His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Stand on Dolgyal/Shugden
SHARE
12 July 2015

On 7th July, the final day of official celebrations of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday in Orange County, California, representatives of the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (OHHDL) invited the International Shugden Community (ISC) to meet and explain what they are accusing His Holiness of lying about. The office is concerned that many among the Shugden protestors may be poorly informed about the Shugden issue and His Holiness’s stand with regard to it. The office’s intention is less to try to convince those who already understand the issue but continue to protest, and more to reach out to those who have been misinformed about it. Three senior ISC members came and reiterated their allegation that His Holiness has banned the practice of Dolgyal/Shugden. This is untrue. The OHHDL representatives explained that although His Holiness has for forty years advised against propitiating Shugden, he has always been consistently clear that, in the end, it is up to individuals to choose whether or not to follow his counsel.

Indeed, some monks from two Geluk monasteries in southern India who chose to continue their Shugden practice have set up their own monasteries, Shar Ganden Ling and Serpom Dratsang. These monasteries exist as part of their respective Tibetan settlements in south India and the members enjoy all the rights and facilities to which the residents of the settlements are entitled.

One of the principal reasons why His Holiness advises against this practice is because of the well-documented sectarianism associated with it. In the past, Shugden practice, especially in Eastern Tibet, provoked widespread distrust between monasteries, prevented members of the Geluk school from receiving instructions belonging to the Nyingma tradition, and even led to desecration of religious images and scriptures. His Holiness considers this kind of divisiveness and disharmony to be deeply regrettable. As someone who actively promotes inter-religious harmony and understanding, he opposes discrimination against anyone on grounds of faith.

A clear understanding of the Shugden question requires objective study of its nearly 400 year controversial history, especially the way it unfolded in the early years of the 20th century. His Holiness the Dalai Lama feels a moral responsibility to advise his followers against Shugden practice. In so doing he is following the example of his distinguished predecessors, especially the Great Fifth and the Thirteenth Dalai Lamas.
