For all we know Dr. Lobsang Sangay is a Dorje Shugden practitioner too... how do we know these days who is and who isn't? Take Samdhong Rinpoche as the perfect example of a huge misjudge which many of us did. Little did we know he was just following His Gurus orders and to top it off  he is Dorje Shugden himself.

I really do empathise someone like Lobsang Sangay, squashed between being a Tibetan Govt puppet and doing his duty as a Prime Minister of Tibetans in exile. Hope he summons the courage and wisdom to do the right thing for his people and not mess around with religious issues. Follow examples of other good PM's / leaders. Make the best of whatever that is left and make good relationships with all leaders esp China.

Very true.

Wishes are thoughts which create the causes for things to happen so wish away, Ven. Lozang :) and may they come true quickly!

Tibetan cabinet blend of old, new faces

Dharamsala, Sep 16 (IANS) The Tibetan government-in-exile, headed by new Prime Minister Lobsang Sangay, Friday announced a six-member cabinet, which is a blend of old and new faces.
An official spokesperson told IANS that the cabinet has two women ministers, one of them Dolma Gyari, former deputy speaker of the Tibetan Parliament.

Prime Minister Sangay introduced the six on the first day of the inaugural session of the 15th Tibetan parliament-in-exile.
The new ministers in the 14th cabinet are Dongchung Ngodup, Tsering Dhundup, Pema Chhinjor, Dolma Gyari, Dicki Chhoyang and Tsering Wangchuk. All, except Dhundup, were sworn in by Chief Justice Commissioner Ngawang Phelgyal Gyechen.
Ngodup, Dhundup and Chhinjor have been retained.

Chhinjor, the senior most member of Sangay’s cabinet, was the minister of security in the 11th cabinet.
A three-time former deputy speaker in parliament, Dolma is among the new faces in the cabinet.
After completion of her studies, she joined the women’s section of the Tibetan Youth Congress, a hardline group of the exiles.
From 1991 to 2006, she was elected as member of the parliament-in-exile for four consecutive terms.
Born 1974, Wangchuk is the youngest member in the cabinet. He is a medical officer at Tsojhe Khangsar Charity Hospital in Bylakuppe.
Chhoyang migrated to Canada in 1971 and worked as a community liaison officer for the University of Montreal Hospital Center construction project. She is a member of parliament-in-exile from North America.

The spokesperson said Sangay, who is also the chairman of the Kashag, will announce the portfolios of the new ministers Monday.
Sangay, at 43 the youngest to head the government-in-exile, had told IANS on assuming office Aug 8 that ‘now it is the responsibility of the younger generation to take the movement forward and seek a resolution to the Tibetan problem.’
According to Sangay, education will be the priority in domestic programmes and policy.

‘The department of information and international relations and the department of education, which runs more than 100 schools, are the crucial ones,’ he said.
‘Creating awareness about Tibet and sustaining this awareness will also be priorities.’
Based in Dharamsala, the government-in-exile is not recognized by any country. There are about 140,000 Tibetans in exile, over 100,000 of them in India.

It seems his focus now is education and not religion or religious issues. Education should help to better the Tibetan's life. I think he has the right focus for the political leader of Tibet. Does anyone know if the old faces of the cabinet the old guards were they strong enemies of Dorje Shugden?

It will be interesting to see what Lonsang Sangay will achieve. After all, results will speak louder then words. The results better come soon as the world will forget there is or rather was a Tibetan government  around. Especially more when HH is no longer with us. Soon a new generation will come whereby to them, they will think that Tibet was always part of CHINA.

Dear Lobsang Sangay,

Please don't be a puppet of the CTA. Please don't follow outdated illogical laws made by the previous government. Please don't make nonsensical laws for religious practice that should NOT be the focus of  a secular government. Please apply the values of logic, fairness, equality, non-discrimination to your term as Kalon Tripa. Please bring the CTA out of the dark ages. Please do good by Tibetan people by making significant strides for the betterment of the Tibetan people.

Please make a difference.

Lobsang Sangay is not reading the writing on the wall. China is not interested in talking to you! They haven't talked to HH Dalai Lama and they said they would only talk to the Dalai Lama's envoy... i feel sorry for Lobsang Sangay. He has a huge role to fill and there's really nothing he can do about it. Perhaps if he asked Dorje Shugden for help, he might get some real assistance!

Efforts On to Restart Talks With China: Sangay

Tibetan Prime Minister-in-exile Lobsang Sangay today said efforts are on to restart the talks between the envoys of the Dalai Lama and the Chinese officials but China is "not reciprocating".

"We are ready to negotiate with the Chinese anytime, anywhere, but they are not reciprocating," he said after announcing the portfolios in the newly-constituted cabinet.

Sangay said efforts to restart the talks will be on.

China and the Dalai Lama's envoys have held nine rounds of talks since 2002 to resolve the Tibetan issue but no major breakthrough has been achieved so far.

Based in Dharamsala, the government-in-exile is not recognised by any country. Of about 140,000 Tibetans in exile, over 100,000 are in India.

Wishful thinking WB... hes stuck between the old ideas of the old TGIE vanguard and the expectations of the Tibetan people. Maybe they should all take a page out of Buddhas book and dispel with the expectations! Expectations --> Projections --> Disappointment
