Poll on Dorje Shuggen

The practice of Dorje Shugden as we know,is beneficial if we can understand the nature and function well.
He is a Buddha who helps all living beings regardless of Buddhist or non Buddhist.Those who do not make an effort to rely upon him are protected as well!.When our eyes of  faith in him open and we rely on him sincerely
we will be more aware of his blessings and help we receive from him.
I have personally benefitted from this practice through the kindness of my Lama,who gave me the opportunity
to practice Dorje Shugden.I have to do my part by putting effort and following my Lama's instructions well.

I had read the question slightly differently, I think from you. The question made me think about why it is that I rely on Dorje Shugden, and not any other protector.

There are many out there we can pray to who are also powerful protectors - Mahakala, Kalarupa, Pelden Lhamo, the list is endless. When you're just starting out on a Dharma path, you can't tell one from another. I began my practice and have held it sacred since because of the kindness of my teacher to give me this practice in the first place.

There wasn't really an option on the poll for that so I chose option 2 - I love the Buddhas, and I regard my own teacher as a Buddha. So any practice that he confers upon me, is good enough for me and I have faith that it will be the most beneficial for me. 

Then, with his many hours of explanations, teachings and most importantly, by his own pure example, I have gained more and more faith in Dorje Shugden. I certainly cannot perceive him directly, but over time, I have definitely experienced the positive effects and the benefits of relying on and making prayers to him. This is for sure. But none of this would have arisen or been possible if not for the starting point of my Guru.
