Zong Rinpoche the Naga tamer
« on: January 19, 2014, 10:50:08 PM »
I found this very interesting... imaging nagas, the mystical being appearing in form to you...

Can you believe these stories/ claims?

"The previous Zong Rinpoche was very well-known for rain-making. Rinpoche went to many Tibetan settlements and all he did was meditation and performed a Naga Puja, and he brought rain to the villagers. Rinpoche shared a very special connection with Nagas. At times when he goes to lakes, or walks by the waters, Nagas would come from these waters and appear to him (in form)." Tenzin Wangchuk, Zong Rinpoche's personal attendant.

The Late Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, a great scholar and tantra master of the Gelugpa lineage was born in 1905 (female wood-snake year) in the province of Kham, Eastern Tibet. Following various unusual observations accompanying his birth, he was declared as the rebirth of Tenpa Püntsok, a local monk and tulku. It is said that already in an early stage of his childhood he performed various magical miracles and was able to invoke a female naga goddess (mystical serpent being) in a nearby lake.

In 1946, he resigned from the abbot's throne to work as a magician against black magic, disturbances caused by various ghosts (Pretas) and lower gods, became a 'weather-maker', performed many fire rituals and lived in different parts of Tibet, being on a kind of continuous pilgrimage.

Wow! This is interesting. It actually shows that Zong Rinpoche was very compassionate in his activities. These settlements needed the rain so Zong Rinpoche would aid them by performing his meditations and making it rain!

Zong Rinpoche is very powerful Lama indeed. I have heard from somewhere that not all Lamas know or are qualified to perform Naga puja as it needs a lot of preparation and practice. It must take a special being to perform this sort of puja as it requires a lot of expertise and experience. Furthermore it also requires a lot of psychic experienced people in order to perform just in case the Nagas around would like to cause problems.

It is very interesting to know that these high Lamas can perform "magic". For Zong Rinpoche to quit his position as the monastery's abbot to become a magician must have been a decision based on his wisdom and compassion for humans and other beings in other realms too. In those times ,magic can convince people to take refuge in the 3 jewels to be enlightened. Unfortunately if the same magic is used today the results and effects may be different, depending on the level of the practitioners. Some may associate such magic to being negative and condemn the BuddhaDharma. The minds of people have degenerated so much that it seems very difficult to learn the Buddhadharma.

Nagas are powerful beings of the animal realm but they and divine in the sense that there have mythical powers and are known to live in lakes and oceans. It is said that they control the waters of the areas and the Kings of nagas controls the oceans.

Zong Rinpoche through his Omniscience not only benefit of the people that he help make rain for but more importantly he benefitted the nagas in their direct service to a Buddha and many Nagas cannot practice the Dharma due to their delusions; main in the form of Ignorance and jealousy.

Such a great attaint master who practices Lord Shugden and also a great tantric master that specially emphasize on the tantra of Heruka, Hayagriva, Yamantaka, Gyelchen Shugden, Guhyasamaja, Vajrayogini, Green Tara, Mahakali, White Tara, Vaishravani and others. If Lord Shugden if a spirit, how can such a great master practices spirit and able to practice the rest of the tantric practices? Doesn’t make sense. In fact if one practices spirit no other tantric practices you can gain result from.

Look at Kyabje Zong Rinpoche the great scholar and also a tantric master has even come back to this live to continue to benefit others, how can a spirit practitioner reincarnated back and being recognized?

I totally agree with you Tenzin K! How can a highly attained master who worship a 'demon' have such great powers?
It doesnt make any sense... To be able to perform so many miraculous events, have so many students who are also highly attained, reincarnate and recognized?
And please do not say that the 'demon' gave him the powers to do so. That would be ridiculous! What would the demon get in return for all these? And the 'demon' cant control the reincarnation.

Kyabje Zong Rinpoche is definitely a highly attained lama to be able to control the weather. One must also be very compassionate and skillful to be subduing beings from other realms like the nagas. If one is not careful, the nagas would be offended and would cause a lot of disasters and disturbances to those living in the area. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche is one of the many great Shugden lamas who are highly attained and we are witnessing this as his incarnation is back here among us again. There is without a doubt as the current Zong Rinpoche is now studying at Gaden Monastery in India.

Wonderful anecdotes of a master who obviously displays total control of his senses and is quite obviously advance in his tantric practice to be able to instruct the nagas to do his bidding. As far as I know, Nagas detest humans and usually stay away and that's why it is quite difficult to invoke them and very easy for humans to offend them. Naturally, it would take a very advance being like Kyabje Zong Rinpoche to invoke their powers over the weather. Nagas usually live in large bodies of water and traditionally believe to control the weather and are custodians of great wealth as well. Therefore, such stories are not just stories but a living proof of the efficacy of Tantra and Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was a living example of a master who had gained mastery of Tantra.

This article really caught my attention, I'd never knew that Naga existed thousand of years and still do now!  I thought it 's just a myth and it's terrifying to know how dangerous it is to own a Naga wealth vase. They are easily jealous and easily angered, the owner may experience negative side effects or event death if not care properly.   Always check the source of the items before inviting home, it's better be safe than sorry!

Interesting article about Zong Rinpoche which is an eye opener for me. Such an highly attained master which all of us know that the previous Zong Rinpoche is a Dorje Shugden practitioner and he is consider one of the Gelug Master in our time. if dorje Shugden is really what H.H.T Dalai Lama claimed he is, which is a spirit how come such a highly attained master can't tell if Dorje Shugden is really a spirit. Funny.
