Panchen Lama receives homage from Tibetan Buddhism scholars in Beijing

I do not know much about the 6th Panchen Lama though he is mentioned in http://www.dorjeshugden.com/great-masters/recent-masters/9th-panchen-lama/

There is some detail in the context of his strong and close relationship with Emperor Qian Long as the Emperor gifted him with a painting, a gold seal of authority and a golden sheet of confirmation among other affirmations. (http://www.dorjeshugden.com/forum/index.php?topic=2833.0).

However, it seems logical that the 6th Panchen Lama was a Dorje Shugden practitioner since it is prevalent throughout the lineage.

Here the 11th Panchen Lama pays respect to his predecessor before receiving Tibetan Buddhism scholars. I wonder if these scholars are Dorje Shugden practitioners too.

As the 11th Panchen Lama Bainqen Erdini Qoigyijabu comes of age, he is more high profile. For me this is a very good sign that he is being recognized by Beijing as the pinnacle of Tibetan Buddhism in China. It is also incredible that this is happening in the heart of Beijing. Tibetan Buddhism is recognized and is growing fast in China and this is the most important thing. Politics is secondary actually.

The present (11th) incarnation of the Panchen Lama is a matter of controversy: the People's Republic of China asserts it is Gyancain Norbu, while the 14th Dalai Lama asserted it was Gedhun Choekyi Nyima on May 14, 1995. The latter vanished from public eye shortly after being named, aged six. Chinese authorities stated that Gedhun had been taken into protective custody from those that would spirit him into exile and is now held in captivity against the wishes of the Tibetan people. Tibetans and human rights groups continue to campaign for his release.
