Peljor acts against the Dalai Lama's advice

This is the extract that Peljor the 'monk' transcribed then posted on his wall, inviting people to join in the 'discussion' which was really yet another excuse to criticise teachers. The irony is that if you listen to the video, the Dalai Lama was pretty clear on the matter. If you disagree with your teacher and find that you can no longer align yourself with his actions and teachings, you should still respect him and, if you must, withdraw yourself from his circle. What does that mean? Better to withdraw from his circle than to develop wrong view and find even more reasons to criticise and denigrate him because there is so much bad karma involved. Never at any point did the Dalai Lama say, "Go ahead and criticise him." No, the Dalai Lama said to remain neutral.

In fact, the Dalai Lama underscored the importance of the teacher-disciple relationship in Tibetan Buddhism and advised an easy way to avoid destroying this relationship. According to His Holiness, regardless of the reasons, one should never criticise or defame our teachers and even our ex-teachers. But you know, Peljor goes above and beyond all of this (what an overachiever, eh?). Not only does he profusely criticise his ex-teachers, but he sets up entire websites and Facebook pages and groups about them. Great example you set Peljor! ::)

If Peljor were really that devoted to the Dalai Lama, why doesn't he follow the Dalai Lama's advice to leave Geshe Kelsang alone? Isn't that what is meant by neutral? Setting up a website, talking about it, encouraging people to discuss and criticise...all of that karma comes back to you because you started it. You goaded and egged them on into collecting negative karma.

Never met anyone so selective with what he chooses to follow so let's not even get into the subject of guru devotion. But then maybe it's not guru devotion and it's all a play, a manipulation, to use the Dalai Lama to get into the limelight. Sure seems that way, what with all of Peljor's centre and teacher swapping, one after another. No one is ever good enough for Peljor and now, judging from how poorly he follows the Dalai Lama's advice, seems even an actual Buddha isn't good enough for him! :o to say that Peljor sets a very questionable example for people who look to him for (god forbid) spiritual advice would be an understatement.

Him and the rest of the anti-NKT group should really reconsider their behaviour and assess if it is in alignment with what the Dalai Lama has said. At the present time, all of them are acting squarely against the Dalai Lama's advice, what with their anti-NKT survivor groups. What is there to survive from, if the Dalai Lama himself tells you to distance yourself and remain neutral? Why keep rehashing the experience over and over again, attacking your ex-teacher in the guise of trying to find a way to 'heal'? The Dalai Lama himself says very clearly not to attack one's teacher and not to denigrate them. If that's the case, ex-teachers shouldn't be denigrated either...and the very fact they are now your EX-teacher is an indication that the denigration has already taken place.

But who are the anti-NKT crowd to lecture people on anything when they themselves don't exactly follow the Dalai Lama's advice? Who died and made them boss? Peljor should really start advising these people right, and start advising them to follow their new teacher's advice before they see a repeat of what happened to their relationship with NKT's leaders.

This is beginning to look a politicians' free for all. If they even practice a little bit of what Buddhism is about, they would just keep quiet and calm their mind. Be always mindful to not have divisive speech and create negativity. Negative and divisive talk brings great negative karma that leads to the lower realms. If you practice dharma, you are looking to escape samsara not be trapped in an endless loop within it.

May compassion and wisdom prevail.

Peljor should control himself and stop criticizing other lamas. Why he always try to find fault in other teachers and never once criticize himself? Does he know that he should not criticize other teachers especially the teacher that he had taken refuge with in the past? How many times has he changed teachers in his life? I thought refuge is for life and before taking a new teacher he has to get permission from his previous teacher. Just go back to your Dharma study...

I'm sorry but I'm going to say it...most practitioners are extremely selective in following the advice of their teachers. If they were real practitioners of the Buddhist path, the would follow what is says in the scriptures and living traditions, because that it the only way to develop attainments and have a real chance of gaining enlightenment. I mean why would the Buddha and the enlightened beings even teach if it wasn't beneficial and necessary on the path to enlightenment?

One these, as has been mentioned is to never deride your teacher. In the case of this Peljor, who is supposedly a monk, why is it that he does this? If he is a monk, he should know that such teachings exist and he should be following them. I wonder why he is not. I've seen his name posted in a few places around the internet, and it seems that all he wants is attention. He is looking for fame. Why would a monk be looking for fame? That is not what a monk should be doing at all.

Peljor is not a monk but really an evil being --- the devil in robes, going around destroying Buddhism, the sanghas' reputation and also the faith of other people. Imagine how many people's spiritual path has been disturbed and destroyed and hindered through Peljor's negative writings? Not only does he and his group of ex-NKT students harm others, the fact that they keep criticising their previous teacher not only breaks whatever the Dalai Lama advises but they are creating the causes to be in hell longer according to the 50 verses of Guru Devotion...

Verse 10

Having become the disciple of such a protecting (guru), should you then despise him from your heart, you will reap continual suffering as if you had disparaged all the buddhas.

Verse 11

If you are foolish enough to despise your guru, you will contract contagious diseases and those caused by harmful spirits and will die (a horrible death) caused by demons, plagues or poison.

Verse 12

You will be killed by (wicked) kings or fire, by poisonous snakes, water, witches or bandits, by harmful spirits or savages, and then be reborn in a hell.

I think this explains well where they are heading and if they want to continue, they better get ready for the repercussions. What good have they gotten from all their nasty negative talks? What do they get out of it? Maybe just short-term monetary gains from those Tibetan leaders who wish to tarnish the reputation of those they feel threatened, but once this group is gone... then where are they Peljor and his hyena friends going to do/go? So sad... these people are quite psychotic.
