The Dalai Lama did it again! This time it is with Nepal!

Recently, the Dalai Lama has made another strong and very unnecessary statement that has incited another wave of doubt and anger in people, especially the Nepali. He was recorded to have said it is a nonsense that the Buddha was born in Nepal. See the video below.

The Nepal government has been very kind to the Tibetans, granted them a place to stay, work and rebuilt themselves from the 1959 cultural revolution. Yet, after 60 years, there is no one contribution being made by the Tibetans to show their gratification to the Nepali people. It is amazing how the Tibetans play their refugee card and demand the host of whichever country they are in to provide all their needs. All they have to do is to wait for things to be presented to them onto a silver plate.

This opinion piece laid out clearly the negative impact the Dalai Lama's comment had onto Nepal and it will not be a surprise that the Tibetans will be deported from Nepal to Dharamsala - another country they do not show appreciation to. It won't be long that the Tibetans will not be accepted in either country and they will learn their lessons in a hard way and perhaps be awakened once and for all to stop being self pity but to contribute to the world positively with all that they have received.

It pays to be very accurate when it comes to such very sensitive matters as the birthplace of Buddha. Though the political boundary of the Indian sub-continent has moved back and forth over the centuries, one has to be precise when making statements such as this. For the Dalai Lama to be wishy washy about the boundary and the exact location of the birthplace of Buddha is strange. I wonder what's going on here?

Nov 26, 2017-The office of Dalai Lama, Dharmasala, has issued a clarification on his response to a student’s question pertaining to Lord Buddha’s background.

“It has been brought to our attention that media reports in Nepal have queried a reference His Holiness the Dalai Lama made to Lord Buddha’s background while answering questions from students in Meerut, India on 16 October 2017,” read the clarification issued in Tibet.net.

“We are concerned to know there was misunderstanding of the intent of his answer, and would like to clarify that His Holiness meant no disrespect towards his Nepalese brothers and sisters,” read the statement.

The statement stated that Dalai Lama accepts that the Buddha’s birthplace was Lumbini. “What he wanted to emphasize in contemporary terms is the importance of understanding what the Buddha taught and the scope of his influence throughout Asia,” said the statement.

The clarification concluded with hopes that that “this clears up any misunderstanding or misapprehension.”

Oh no! What is going on? The Dalai Lama upsets all Nepalese! Now the Nepalese people who were so kind to the Tibetans are upset and want all Tibetans out! Well... scary!

Not sure what was Dalai Lama's intention of indulging in such a sensitive topic given the historical bickering between India and Nepal. It certainly contravenes his message of mindfulness and harmony when strong negative emotions are clearly triggered by such "callous" remarks. Even if it is taken out of context, why chose such an emotionally charged as an example to illustrate a point given the negative repercussions, particularly to the exiled Tibetans seeking asylum at Nepal. As it stands, such statement which wasn't even necessary in the first place has put the Tibetan refugees in a difficult situation, negatively impact the Nepalese and cause much hardship and confusion to many.

UNESCO already certified that site in Lumbini, Nepal is the Buddha's birthplace. Why the Dalai Lama wants to bring up this matter again? I really don't know what is running on His Holiness mind but to anger their host country won't get them any benefit at all. When everyone is angry and force the Tibetans out of their country, then the Tibetans have no where to go but to go back to Tibet.

Maybe that's what Dalai Lama wants to do - to make the whole world angry at him, ban him. Indirectly, the whole world will ban CTA. When the whole world ban CTA, then Dalai Lama will have stronger excuse to go back China, and then close down CTA, and then Dorje Shugden ban will be lifted. And then.... Good bye CTA! HOOOOOORAY!!!!
