Religious persecution in history: some examples

Oft times, religious differences tend be brushed off and swept underground as the politicians are unable or unwilling to grapple with theological issue.

Religious persecution is a violation of human rights. This has to be impressed upon the world. It is not just a religious issue.

Now that the Dalai Lama has soften his stance, his followers must be prepared to accept that and act accordingly. Otherwise, we will be back to square one. The world better wake up to all kinds of discriminaiton, else there will be not much of an Earth lefy for us to live on.

This is a good post. Thanks for sharing. it's been 4 years and this post is still relevant. It's been centuries nd this piece of event and history is till relevant.

Throughout history, there's been a lot of blood shed in the name of religion on the orders of man. The religion is good, all religions are good, it is man that has corrupted the one piece of salvation that he needs for their own samsaric ends. That's why we need the Buddha more than ever.

But, to follow history, though the times of the persecution is horrific, the faith has to remain true to their calling and faith and know the truth for it to triumph. Knowledge and wisdom is very important. So, we have to keep faith and keep our samaya clean and follow the basic tenets of Buddhism and do our part to lift the ban.
