The Tibetan leadership is supposed to protect Buddhist around the world since they have the upper hand of having His Holiness the Dalai Lama on their side. However, the Tibetan leadership abuses the power of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to get benefits for themselves. They do not care about the public or their own Tibetans in exile at all.
The sex scandal of Sogyal Lakar and other lamas has been around for quite some time and some even go as long as decades. Rumors about Sogyal’s nasty activities is not something new and they know about it a long time ago. However, the Tibetan leadership did not take any action against Sogyal and let him do as he wishes.
This is because Sogyal is a supporter of the Tibetan leadership and it is obvious that Tibetan leadership got some kind of benefit from him. It is known that Sogyal actually shares his students with other people. So Tibetan leadership do not care how Sogyal have hurt others and bring a bad name to Tibetan Buddhism. All they care about is how much benefits Sogyal can give them. This is the true face of Tibetan leadership.
