The Ex-Monk Professor Soliciting Hackers

Professor Robert Thurman was the first American Buddhist ordained as a monk in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Unfortunately, his monkhood only lasted for a year as he gave in to his lust to marry his second wife. He did not honor his words to his preceptor, the Dalai Lama. He "binned his maroon robe" and married the ex-wife of Timothy Leary, a "guru of psychedelic druggery".

In recent years, Thurman developed a new obsession, launching hate campaigns on Twitter to ostracize and discriminate Dorje Shugden practitioners. To ensure he has the upper hand to crush his opponents, he even publically solicited hackers on social media and offered a large sum to hack into Twitter accounts belonging to Dorje Shugden practitioners.
 
His extreme and vehement behavior is utter disrespect of the legal system and the rights of others including their freedom of speech. He has to be curbed before he drags the Dalai Lama down with his own criminal activities, and drags the name of Tibetan Buddhism through the dirt.

I guess the ex-wife of Timothy Leary, a "guru of psychedelic druggery", is more important than dharma and monkhood. I wonder what has he learned in that one year as a monk. Perhaps, it may be him taking advantage of the benefits provided in the monastery and taking a break from financial burden. But by looking at the result, it is not hard to know that Thurman has not been a good monk. He might be breaking his vows throughout and did not do what is necessary and end up hooking up with a druggery ex-wife instead. If he really practising what he was supposed to practise, he would be more advanced in dharma practices and would be seeking for higher purposes than giving in to desire and lust.

This is such a shame. Robert Thurman claims to be an expert in Buddhism but his action is very un-Buddhist. It is very shocking to see him hiring hackers to attack Dorje Shugden followers.

A real Buddhist will respect everyone regardless of their skin colour, belief or opinions. After all, our world is made up of different colours, cultures, beliefs, practices, etc. We cannot expect everyone to think the same as we are.

I know right. Who would think that His Holiness's man in America will turn out to be someone like Bob Thurman. He is known to be someone nasty and he will attack Dorje Shugden people out of the blue. Everyone is just minding their own business when Bob Thurman decided that he will be the religion police and go around criticizing other people's religion.

Who gave him the right anyway? Everyone has the freedom the have their own religion and not being criticised for that. Since he lives in the US and US take pride in their democracy, why is he still acting in such a way? He is degrading all the Buddhist professors and showing a very bad example to people who are still learning Buddhism.

Never once did Buddha said one can go and attack others based on their religion. This is why, he is not a real Buddhist professor because obviously whatever the Buddha taught, he did not apply it onto himself. He is just using the name of Buddhism to fulfill his selfish need for fame and power.

Just accept the fact that Robert Thurman is a fake Buddhist guru who creates conflicts between different Buddhist groups. He also encourages killing. One of the activities organised by his retreat centre is fly-fishing, how Buddhist is that?

His daughter Uma Thurman is a sexual abuse victim but he is a close friend to sex offender, Sogyal Rinpoche. why is that so? Doesn't he have compassion for his own daughter?

Many things that he does is contradictory to what a Buddhist should be doing, this is something I cannot understand. He should not be called a Buddhist expert anymore because he dos not walk the talk.

He wants to be in the Dalai Lama's good book so he can get endorsement from the Dalai Lama. With the endorsement from the Dalai Lama, it makes him more credible and reliable. As a result, his books will be sellable and people will go to attend his course.

Yes, that is the Guru's compassion to save Robert Thurman from creating more negative karma. If Robert Thurman has good guru devotion, he would not have doubted his Guru's decision on not giving him the Sogtae initiation. He would not have created a scene by brawling on the floor pleading his Guru for the initiation.

On top of that, he became anti-Shugden and attacked Dorje Shugden practitioner online. He even went to the extend to hire people to help him attack his enemies. I wonder where are all the Dharma knowledge that he claimed to have? Isn't him a Buddhist professor?

This is how a Buddhist Professor should act? Don't forget that he is also known as the Dalai Lama's man in American and he represents His Holiness.
