The Tibetan Government In Exile / CTA Do They Have Disclosure
« on: October 03, 2011, 03:41:42 PM »
Here is something that crossed my mind.

From.... Tibet.net re Central Tibetan Administration

Since its inception(29 April 1959) the CTA has set itself the twin task of

1) rehabilitating Tibetan refugees and
&

2) restoring freedom and happiness in Tibet.

The rehabilitation agenda includes three important programmes:
a) promoting education among the exile population;
b) building a firm culture of democracy; and
c) paving the way for self-reliance so that the Tibetan people are able to survive with the self-esteem and confidence that flows from not having to depend on external assistance.

Now....Google these ....

... Tibetan Government In Exile Budget 2011, or 2010, or any year for that matter
... Tibetan Treasury Department
... Tibetan Government Grants
... Tibetan Goverment Sponsorship

what do you find?

Not much?
There is the tibetan sponsorship program, run by tibetaid.org, but apart from that what else? Who are they seeking sponsorship for... nuns and monks?

According to Wiki

"The Central Tibetan Administration's Department of Finance is made of seven departments and several special offices. Until 2003, it operated 24 businesses, including publishing, hotels, and handicrafts distribution companies. Officially, its annual revenue is US$22 million, with the biggest shares going to political activity ($7 million), and administration ($4.5 million). However, according to Michael Backman, these sums are "remarkably low" for what the organization claims to do, and it probably receives millions more in donations. The CTA does not acknowledge such donations or their sources.[12]"

These figures were in 2003.

It is now 2011. What has been achieved during the TGIE / CTA enforcement of the ban? Earlier there was a post on the Karmapa / Sharmapa situation.

Why would the TGIE/CTA create confusion amongst its own people and the world at large. Why would they work so hard to enforce the ban?

From 1959 - 2011 what is the progress of Tibetan Government In Exile / Central Tibetan Administration

1) rehabilitating Tibetan refugees and
&
2) restoring freedom and happiness in Tibet.

Confusion won't work forever.
