Denmark Snubs the Dalai Lama
« on: January 25, 2015, 02:15:22 AM »
Copenhagen would not be rolling out the red carpet for the Dalai Lama during his coming visit to Denmark in February.  Denmark state officials will not be meeting the Dalai Lama. On this eight visit of Denmark coming February, the Dalai Lama will speak about compassion and belonging.

Why would Copenhagen be according to the Dalai Lama a state protocol when it isn't a state affair or is it the fear of displeasing China?

I am sure the International Shugden Committee will be waiting to welcome His Holiness when he visits Copenhagen.

In global politics, no country can ignore China because of its economic power. There is much to lose if a country displeases China. Hence, again there is no surprise that Denmark do not want to officially welcome HH Dalai Lama. It is already very fortunate that the Dalai Lama gets the visa to enter at all.

This is contrary to the treatment by India; I am sure based on a complain by the CTA; on HH Yongyal Rinpoche's recent deportation from Bangalore airport. Sad but true that politics is baring its ugly fangs even affecting the spiritual community. At least in the Dalai Lama's case, the spiritual community can still meet His Holiness.
