China will not tolerate such abuse from officials, especially with the new Governement tackling abuses and corruption.
They know this is poisonous for the country and undermine the foundation on which the country must be built.
I doubt that this mayor has any political future left ahead of him, for the least that would be asked of him is to control his temper, to not act out of anger, to lead by example, to NOT abuse his power. He failed at this and made such a show of it... I doubt he'll be going any further in his career!
Poor girl, I hope she won't build ressentment over this and grow her realisation of Dharma instead.
Clearly he has a lot of issues to deal with, especially anger, ego and bullying.
Can he not see that it was just water that was accidently splashed onto the car? She is just a young child. Even if you feel you need to reprimand her, do you need to go to that extreme? What was he trying to prove?
If by that insignifant act she was handcuffed and paraded, what extreme punishment would be meted out for something more serious?
Obviously he was just taking the laws into his own hands by terrifying the little girl, treating her like a criminal.
This is the halmark of a corrupt official, someone with responsibilities to protect the city and the people but who has grown too intoxicated with power and money. What is equally suprising is that the Chinese government has not suspended him for wrong conduct yet. Perhaps he has bribed everyone around, or perhaps his karma to be a government official has not yet exhausted. However, once it is exhausted, all of his negative karma will explode in his face at once and them it's our turn to pity him. I hope that the Chinese government would take action against him soon so that he cannot continue to abuse his power.
