The Dalai Lama is both a religious and a political figure at the same time. There is no two ways about that, but one thing that sets the Dalai lama apart is that even though he has surrendered his secular role, he is still expected to lead the Tibetans no matter what. And this is evident by the power the Dalai Lama holds over the CTA even after his secular retirement because it was made into a prophecy thing and the Dalai Lama was unanimously cast into this role but instead of learning from him, the CTA just depends on him for everything and learn nothing.

Yes, Dalai Lama still has say to whatever secular involvement if he wants to. He should really retire from his secular work like what he claims to be. Only then, the CTA will be able to stat learning how to govern the Tibetans. And they will then realize how silly the Dorje Shugden ban is, and what wasted effort they have done for putting a strict ban to Dorje Shugden. Then the CTA will be able to remove the ban because they would not have to feel as though they are against the Dalai Lama if they are able to separate secular and religious matters.

Sadly the Dalai Lama still has to play the envoy and visit VIPs, countries, etc in order to promote the Tibetan cause and to highlight what is going on in Tibet to the world when Lobsang Sanggay should be doing this and asking the Dalai Lama to rest as he takes over. But of course, the CTA is unwilling to change and neither are they willing to be independent, why would they need to because they have the Dalai Lama to depend on? Perhaps when the Dalai Lama enters a long retreat, they would be forced with no choice but to re-prioritize, and realize that the ban is sapping away their resources and efforts and then lift it or defy it.

I strong suspect that the merits for Tibetans to have the Dalai Lama back is waning. If has been so since 1959 when the Dalai Lama escaped to India and via India has done tremendous work in spreading the Dharma to the outside world particularly to the West. How do we tell the Tibetans that their beloved country is lost and it will from now on be part of China. That is a fact that even after 50 years, the Dalai Lama with all his effort can't change. It is the karma of Tibetans and the merits of others outside Tibet to benefit from the Dalai Lama spreading the Dharma.
If we consider the balance of the benefit, then we can see clearly that the many outside of Tibet benefit more than those inside Tibet. It is a case of the big picture. If Tibet can be saved, then it would have been done many years ago. The best is for the CTA and Tibetan to let go and accept the karma instead of adding to the negativities with self immolations and such. I am sorry if anyone is offended but it is clear. Accept China, like Hong Kong SAR, then, Tibet will flourish. The condition will be better. Why the attachment to self government?

That Tibetans do not want the Dalai Lama back if their lost and their karma or lack of merits. HE will benefit others more as we have already seen.

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. If the Dalai Lama just withdraw fully, not visiting VIPs, countries, etc. Then Lobsang Sanggay would have no choice but to do it. Hence, leading CTA as well as taking up all those responsibilities that they had been running away from. It is time for the Dalai Lama to move away from all these nonsense that the CTA is doing.

The support of the Tibetans for the Dalai Lama is waning, even in Dharamsala itself. This is no big secret at all. That is why the TYC took the radical approach of demanding independence even though the Dalai Lama has advocated the middle path. That is also the reason why the CTA is not doing much for Buddhism at all. If they did listen to the Dalai Lama, they would not have promoted self immolations and also would have stopped all those silly free Tibet protests that further undermines the Dalai Lama's reputation in China's eyes.
