“Dalai Lama Will Stop Condemning Dorje Shugden”

Dalai Lama has recently declared that He will stop openly condemning the practice of Dorje Shugden. He was inspired by the Lamrim teaching at the monasteries, yet He was jovial in his tone discussing religious freedom during the teachings.

Although the Dalai Lama decided not to denounce the Dorje Shugden and its practitioners, He should take his statement seriously and actually prove his decision by providing the same rights that non-Dorje Shugden believers get.

Freedom of religion is one of the first steps that lead to democracy, a form of government in which people are the owners. In democracy, their voices are well respected, their individual rights are very well protected by the authorityIf Dalai Lama really wants to establish a democratic society different from that of China, He should respect individuals’ perspectives and religions. . I am glad that Dalai Lama realized the importance of the freedom of religion, and sincerely hope that He soon stops all the discriminatory laws such as health care against the Dorje Shugden practitioners.

Hopelessly outdated this post. The DL has openly critisized Dorje Shugden practitioners several times after this.  Why this old post ??

I find it hard to believe that Dalai Lama will stop condemning publicly Dorje Shugden.
Proof?
If what Dalai Lama said is true, how come he was videoed in California recently reacting irritably and replying in a loud and stern voice to the nun who approached him and respectfully requested that he stop lying?

Speaking about integrity... For a highly accomplished master to go back on His words... one has to wonder.

When DL made this statement about how He will not talk about DS anymore, I was totally skeptical about it. There is no way the Dalai Lama would stop talking about DS because he has to make a point about the ban continuously or else people will forget and the ban will be lifted in the hearts of the citizens after a few years.

So lately, in the Jangchup LamRim teaching in Dharamsala, Dalai Lama talked about Dorje Shugden once again, and it's for 27 minutes! Can you imagine that? On top of that, He even launched an anti-Shugden book known as Opening the eye of Discernment... which many monks received a free copy... a total waste of the monastery/government's money especially since many of the books ended up in the trash can. Even the monks are not interested in such blatant lies anymore... they just decided that spirituality is what they seek, not the politics.

Now, the most recent was the 20 minute speech that Dalai Lama gave about Dorje Shugden in California. It was totally uncalled for... especially since the talks that Dalai Lama give in America does not surround Buddhism nor is it related to spirituality. It was a public talk, which I would say more of a motivational, self-help talk that is open to EVERYONE EXCEPT THOSE PRACTICING DORJE SHUGDEN. So you can be Muslim, Christian, Bahai, Jew, etc... and you can enter to this public talk by the Dalai Lama, but if you practice Dorje Shugden, you can't.

Ridiculous.

[It is true that the Dalai Lama has been inconsistent in his statements on his stance on Dorje Shugden. Like you said, he flips back and forth. I hate to say this , but, perhaps the slogan during the latest protests in San Francisco, Berkeley, San Clara and LA was apt??]
