Dear Sikyong, moral standards cannot be changed by new election rules

You just don't get it do you?

Regionalism and factionalism including the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden issue was encouraged by your government and politicians. It still is. So the cause of such moral decay you stated, is your own very public encouragement of divisive issues.

No change in election rules will change this.

Now that His Holiness Dalai Lama and the oracles have warned you about divisiveness, and His Holiness Dalai Lama has also recently stated that Dorje Shugden practitioners should be allowed to practice as they apparently have, but you still chose to use it to divide and rule, will you and your cohorts continue to fan this fire which can only further burn down the Tibetan cause through divisiveness?

Think. Go for the root cause. Don't try to apply plastic surgery.

After the “negative” campaign by candidates for the post of Sikyong (prime minister) in the Tibetan Parliament in Exile (TPiE), there may not be another such election in the future. Reportedly, the state oracles, considered the ethos or the mindset of the Dalai Lama and representatives of the community at large, and even the Dalai Lama was perturbed by the campaigns.

In an exclusive interview to The Indian Express, re-elected Sikyong Lobsang Sangay admitted that the campaigns upset the spiritual leader, but added that he has sought Dalai Lama’s forgiveness. Sangay mentioned that he is in touch with the Tibetan Election Commission and the procedure for Tibetan parliament elections shall be revamped.

“After the Parliament session, we consulted the two oracles. They [oracles] were upset… The negative campaigns were below our moral standards. Then some issue of regionalism also came up, which we had already buried in 1980s. In the previous elections, the candidates never criticised each other. However, it was not the case this time,” said Sangay.

“His Holiness was also a bit upset. He had worked so hard for the unity of Tibetan people and the issues of regionalism, factionalism should not have taken any place in Tibetan society… So, I also said that I fully agree with what they felt about the election procedure”.

“I am in touch with the Election Commission of India. We are bringing in some electoral reforms because nine months is too long a period for any election,” he said.

The causes for segregation and discrimination has to be addressed head on by the CTA. No amount of maneuvering around the issue will help in any way. For unity to prevail, CTA cannot keep the real issue under wraps and no amount of re-arranging the elections reforms will help in maintaining unity when you segregate and discriminate as in  the Dorje Shugden ban.

So, instead of coming up with gossamer veils for what the CTA does to divide and rule will not address the real issue.

So, please look further, in fact, not very much further to address this issue of factionalism.

From this sentence, I would believe that the Dalai Lama only wishes for unity of the Tibetan people and yet why had the ban on Dorje Shugden been imposed, especially when it immediately separated Tibetan Buddhist practitioners into two, Shugden practitioner and Anti-Shugdenpa. In this fraction, so much sufferings had been levied onto the Shugden practitioners, constitutionally against the freedom of religion and human rights. If the Dalai Lama's stance was unity, then had it been the Tibetan Government in Exile who imposed the ban? Why had the Dalai Lama just allowed all these unethical sufferings to go on for 20 years? Even now as he proclaim himself safe and had never been threaten, why is the Tibetan Government in Exile still holding on to the ban? By lifting the ban, the unity of Tibetans will restore itself and allow the Dalai Lama better "bargaining" chance with China when in dialogue for return of exiles to Tibet. Or is this the most feared political achievement for the Dalai Lama? If it was successful then the Tibetan Government in Exile officials including Sikyong will be out of power as China already had government in place other than objecting to those who caused them so much grief in propaganda attacks. Another will be the millions of US dollars received in sponsorship. Will the Sikyong and Officials give up on their greed so easily? If they could leave their people in refugee status without spending the sponsorship on improvement, then I am very sure that they need to think hard on loosing the sponsorship which had padded the officials bank accounts very nicely.

Come to think of it. Why had not the two Oracles spoken agains the sufferings of Shugden practitioner or the divisive nature of the ban? Nechung was the one who helped Dorje Shugden to arise as the Protector of Lama Tsongkapa's precious teachings. So it is true that the Oracle had been taking fake trances or being controlled by the vengeful spirit of Nyatrul? Whatever it may be, the Sikyong had better quickly lift the Shugden ban in line with the Dalai Lama's wish or it would be him who shortens the Dalai Lama's life.

Probably should get to it by now as it seems to be CTA’s modus operandi. Whenever there is an issue, CTA would pick on something else to appear as if doing something but not addressing the real issue/cause especially when such real issues are not beneficial to CTA.
 
We see it in the imposition of the Dorje Shugden ban to essentially distract people from the reality of CTA’s failure and also their wrongdoings. When Tibetans are busy fighting each other, they are too occupied or blinded to see through CTA’s ploy

So, now we see Sikyong deflecting from addressing the real big picture issue of divisiveness (which has been called on by Dalai Lama) by downplaying it as a narrow issue relating only to election. Then, he conveniently suggests changes to electoral rules to show lip service of carrying out the intention of Dalai Lama.

Of course, judging from recent vocal questionings from Tibetans including from within Tibetan Parliament itself, more and more are beginning to wizen up to CTA’s ploy. Thus, it really is just a matter of time for CTA.

So agree with you, Celia. This ban in nothing but a distraction ploy. When people are busy jumping up and down, they forget to think and to see what's in front of their nose. That's why even after the Dalai Lama has said anyone can practice Dorje Shugden as Dorje Shugden cannot harm him, the CTA is stepping up their attacks on practitioners.

Now, the CTA has launched a book to so-call defend against Dorje Shugden ban instead of helping the Indians, their host and their fellow Tibetans in the drought in India at the present moment. It's defend at all cost. Now we see who has been collecting money for political favors and accusing others of it.

So, my guess is this will intensify as the new President of the US will not be so kind and generous as previous Presidents and CIA may have a budget cut.
