Dalai Lama's Star Waning in the West
« on: December 19, 2014, 07:08:48 PM »
China is adamant that there will be a 15th Dalai Lama, although the Dalai Lama is fast waning in the West by China's influence. My view is that Dalai Lama will once again return to Tibet in his 15th incarnation and once again practise the protector practice of Dorje Shugden whether the anti-Shugdenists like it or not.  The whole scenario of Dorje Shugden controversy will take a round about turn when this happens.  The force to the truth is inevitable and cannot be denied by anyone.  Dorje Shugden practice will prevail and the ban will die a natural death.  What are your views on this?

(Reuters) - Exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama is drawing less and less attention in the West and manages to win eyeballs only with pointless suggestions that his title will die out with him, a top Chinese official told state media.

Tibetan Buddhism holds that the soul of a senior lama is reincarnated in the body of a child on his death. China says the tradition must continue and it must approve the next Dalai Lama.

But the Nobel peace laureate has said he thinks the title could end when he dies, comments he repeated this week.

Zhu Weiqun, chairman of the ethnic and religious affairs committee of the top advisory body to China's parliament, told the state-run Global Times in remarks published on Friday that the Dalai Lama had no right to play with established custom.

"Only the central government can decide on keeping, or getting rid of, the Dalai Lama's lineage, and the 14th Dalai Lama does not have the final say," Zhu said, referring to the present incumbent.

The Dalai Lama has suffered numerous setbacks in recent years while Tibetan regions have maintained their stability, said Zhu, who was heavily involved in the past in Beijing's failed efforts to talk to the Dalai Lama's representatives.

"At the same time, the attention of public opinion in the West to the Dalai Lama is going down by the day," he added.

"The Dalai Lama also has no good ideas. All he can do is use his religious title to write about the continuation or not of the Dalai Lama to get eyeballs overseas."

Tibet, along with Xinjiang, is one of China's most sensitive areas when it comes to foreign criticism of its human rights record. Tibet, in particular, is an emotive issue in the West, drawing high-profile support from politicians and celebrities.

Zhu is known for his hardline stance on Tibet. In February, he wrote that China had time on its side in winning the West over to its point of view on Tibet and Xinjiang.

Communist Chinese troops took control of Tibet in 1950. China says it "peacefully liberated" a remote mountainous region mired in poverty, exploitation and economic stagnation.

Exiles and rights groups say China tramples on the region's unique culture and has little respect for its people's Buddhist faith.

The Dalai Lama fled to India in 1959 after an abortive uprising against Chinese rule.

The graph below is the statistical fact that Dalai Lama's star is fast waning in the west due to China's influence.  Before it is too late Dalai Lama should lift the Shugden ban and unite his community to focus creating goodwill with China for the greater benefit of Tibetans.

China is a Communist country and it places restrictions on all forms of religious practices including Tibetan Buddhism. By initiating the ban, Dalai Lama had caused China to use the Dorje Shugden practice to work against him! China now protects the Dorje Shugden practice within China! Could this be the the reason why the ban was initiated in the first place? As of now, we could not understand why Dalai Lama had banned Dorje Shugden practice.  His reasons for the ban are simply ridiculous and idiotic!

To go against Dalai Lama, China insisted on maintaining the Dalai Lama lineage.  This provides an avenue for Dalai Lama to preserve Tibetan Buddhism and in particular the Dorje Shugden Lineage to proliferate in China!

Whether or not the current Dalai Lama reincarnate into the 15th Dalai Lama is yet to be seen. However, we are certain that an emanation of Buddha Chenrezig knows clearly where he shall take his next rebirth.

Whether HH Dalai Lama's star is waning due the China's influence or not is debatable. It is my opinion that HH Dalai Lama who teaches loving kindness and care and compassion to contradict such teachings with creation of unnecessary sufferings of Dorje Shugden's practitioners due to the Ban is what is making a decline of His popularity in the West.

Westerners think logically and such contradiction of HH Dalai Lama's conduct puts unfavourable considerations into their minds.

It is my opinion that the Dalai Lama on lifting the ban in this lifetime would enable the reincarnation of the 15 Dalai Lama as in the Tibet Buddhist tradition.
