Holy Smoly! Dalai Lama Confirms Joining Glastonbury Festival
« on: January 05, 2015, 06:29:57 AM »
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is confirmed on his way to the prestigious Glastonbury Festival at Somerset.  I am just wondering if they will put up a sign to say Shugden practitioners are not allowed to revel there since His Holiness is making an appearance and giving a speech.

His Holiness has confirmed he will be taking to the stage at the prestigious music and arts festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset in June.

Regular festival-goers can't wait to see the 79-year-old Buddhist monk perform - but unlike the headline acts he will appear alongside - he won't be playing any instruments.

On his official website the Dalai Lama, the head monk of Tibetan Buddhism, revealed he will be giving a talk on the closing day of the event on Sunday, June 28.

The announcement said: "Public Talk in Glastonbury, Somerset, England on June 28.

"His Holiness will give a talk at the Glastonbury Festival in the morning."

The festival plays host to a range of diverse performers, with country music legend Dolly Parton and Metallica, the first heavy-metal band to play at the farm, taking to the famous Pyramid stage in 2014.

Despite being sold out, so far the only act officially announced for the festival is Lionel Richie, who will take the Sunday legends slot.

According to the official Glastonbury Festival website, the full line-up of acts will not be announced until the spring.

Good public relation for the Dalai Lama. Just another day to benefit sentient beings to see his holy face. I have nothing but respect for the institution of the Dalai Lama, the one that stems from the great disciple of Je Tsongkhapa; Gendun Drup.
So if hearing the words the "Dalai Lama" can invoke blessings of the lineage Lamas all the way back to Lama Tsongkhapa and the Buddha, then I rejoice. LOL.

Pathetic old politician turned celebrity the [False] Dalai Lama will bring his message of religious intolerance and Shugden hate-speech to a UK audience... oh joy!
The organizers are seriously out of touch with reality, and most certainly have not done their homework prior to the invite! So far it is just the [False] Dalai Lama and Lionel Richie that are confirmed, so perhaps we can expect a duet?
