Commitment Offerings
« on: September 20, 2010, 05:40:15 PM »
Dear cyberspace,
Besides the sensory offerings, both peaceful and wrathful, I noticed that we arranged a set of 5 offerings when we engage in Kangso puja. If I remember correctly, it is tea, milk, tsampa (barley flour), yoghurt and beer. Does anybody know what they symbolise?

Well, I heard that the 5 commitment offerings represent conventional wealth in old Tibet. These are the popular commodities used and the more one has of these items, the wealthier the person is. That is all I have heard regarding commitment offerings. If there is anyone else who has any more explanations regarding this....
