How Inconsistent The Dalai Lamas Are

This article captures well how unstable everything seems to be when the Dalai Lamas are involved. The present Dalai Lama is the 14th but if he is truly the reincarnation of his predecessors, then he should be of the same mind and realisations as the rest. And yet these incarnations act to differently towards the same issue at different times.

Are these acts of a highly enlightened being that behaves in different ways as the situations and conditions command or are they just mere men and not different to ordinary people with human foibles?

The reason for the inconsistency is that some were actually highly realized beings, mainly the first several. They are not all of the same mind stream and the present Dalai Lama has even said so! He admitted he is not the same person as the others, which lines up perfectly with the issue of Reting Lama's corrupted selection of a Muslim boy to be the recognized incarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama, his strong disinclination towards virtue as a child, and his criminal and unBuddhist actions as an adult who delights in non-virtue.

Once again, it is entirely inappropriate and extremely insensitive to continue directly or indirectly referring to his criminal activities as the skillful means of a Holy Being. Please stop this contradictory and shameful behavior.

High Lamas including the Dalai Lama incarnate into differing circumstances that are sometimes very subtle and difficult to comprehend as in the case of the 13th to the 14th Dalai Lama. There are incarnations of attained beings who incarnate in very different environment and in between earthly incarnations, they incarnate in different realms.

Hence, there are Lamas who in the preceding incarnation practice one Protector and in the current appear not to. So it can be complex in reasoning.

For the instead of finding the inconsistencies, perhaps we should be looking at the consistencies which of course exist. All Lamas benefit beings and since there are 84000 types of beings, their activities can vary accordingly.
