HHDL doublespeak: "India only place where religions co-exist"

India is the only place where religions co-exist despite some "mischievous" people, HH Dalai Lama said yesterday during his three-day teaching of Shantideva's Bodhicharyavatara at Thekchen Ch ling, Tsuglakhang, the main temple in McLeodganj in Dharamsala.

"The important thing is to be warm-hearted, compassionate and lovable," the Dalai Lama said.

Well blimey, every symptom of the Dorje Shugden ban goes against what HH Dalai Lama has just proclaimed. And to add insult to injury, HHDL goes on to say that the important thing is to be warm-hearted, compassionate and lovable.

That's an interesting one. It is true that In India, many religions do co-exist. Look, the Tibetan  Buddhists are there, the Hindus are there, the Muslims are there and I'm sure other religions as well. Not too sure what he meant by "mischievous people" though.

The part about being warm-hearted, compassionate and lovable is definitely very welcomed. But, is that being practiced especially by his own government, the CTA? Doubt it. After all, look at how there are posters denying basic provisions to Shugden practitioners. Look also at the evidences of violence against the Tibetan monks who practices Dorje Shugden. Look at the vulgarities spouted against Shugdenpas.

There are lots of ideals and ideas and proposals for great but it is putting it into practice that counts. Remember the old adage of "putting your money where your mouth is"? About time the Dalai Lama reigns in those CTA members and advise them to practice being "warm-hearted, compassionate and lovable."

Oh dear! It would seem that the Dalai Lama is still unknowing of his ban of Dorje Shugden practice is the "mischievous" act that caused so much disharmony and suffering amongst his people, especially those residing in the refugee camps in India. And CTA is the main perpetrator inducing the acts of harassments, segregation, brutality and violation of human and religious rights.

Certainly the Dalai Lama's message of "The important thing is to be warm-hearted, compassionate and lovable," contradicts evidence of his holiness instigating monks and his people to treat Shugden practitioners harshly and to run the Shugden lamas out of their respective monasteries. The audacity of it is that the monasteries had been mostly funded and built by these Shugden Lamas. That is certainly not acts of warm-hearted, compassion nor lovable. Hmmm or was that some secret message that his people was suppose to act on Buddha Shakyamuni's advice of "check your Guru out" and they were just lazy to think for themselves. CTA made sure of that, haven't they. Ensuring that those obeying their illegal directives are rewarded.

I do wish that the Dalai Lama will manifest his real nature of Buddha Avalokitesvara, the Buddha of Compassion that everyone says he is the emanation of. With folded hands and no ill intent, the ban on Dorje Shugden is not Compassion but harmful to all practitioners of Buddhism.

In India and also  in many other countries, religions coexist and the people have a right to religious freedom. Even though there is a difference in faith,  people live in harmony and respect each other’s beliefs.

The Dalai Lama's message “The important thing is to be warm-hearted, compassionate and lovable,"   Does the Dalai Lama practiced what he preached?  I don’t think so. Look at how the Dorje Shugden monks and practitioners are treated. It’s about time the Dalai Lama advice the CTA to be warm-hearted, compassionate and lovable towards the Shugdenpas.

Agreed, pgdharma. But, do you see the Dalai Lama doing that? If he is so progressive in reality then, the divide within the Tibetan Buddhist wouldn't be so great.

I mean, you have the Dorje Shugden ban which divide the Gelugs more than the other sects.Then you have the Kagyu Karmapa issue of two 17th Karmapa.   Then there is the Sakya Trizin who after all these decades has a 3-year rotation schedule between the two families. Oh yeah, not forgetting the Jonang sect as well. First they were recognized as a separate school after decades of being absorbed into the Gelugs, then they are sidelined with no say whatsoever in the Tibetan Buddhism enclave.

So, we can wish but nothing is going to happen unless we make all these known to Joe Public. So, it is thanks to the admin of ds.com for bringing attention to the world via their many articles about the various issues dividing the Tibetans. I doubt if any other than the Dalai Lama really know the reasons for the ban and divide. So all we can draw attention to the violation of human rights by the CTA.
