Dalai Lama couldn't confer the Kalachakra initiation!

The Dalai Lama is getting older and get sick very often these days. He couldn't confer the Kalachakra Initiation in December 2018 due to untimely sickness. Although he managed to give some teachings at the initiation ground, many tourists were disappointed at the cancellation of the yearly grand event as they flew in from around the world for it.

Since Dharamsala is too small to facilitate such a big event, the Dalai Lama has been conferring this initiation in Bodhgaya. He promised to return to Bodhgaya again this year for the same purpose. However, the disappointment is inevitable.

Without the Dalai Lama, the CTA failed to host such meritorious and highly profitable event. They would seek ways to be independent and stop relying on the Dalai Lama before it is too late.

Dalai Lama leaves Gaya 4 days before schedule

GAYA: Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama left for Delhi for a medical check-up on Wednesday morning. As per the official itinerary, he was scheduled to leave Bodh Gaya on January 6. He reached Bodh Gaya on December 16 last.

Though no official explanation was given for rescheduling of his programme, sources said the Buddhist leader was having some health issues. In 2003, he had to leave the Kalchakra prayers midway on health grounds. CM Nitish Kumar met him at Bodh Gaya a couple of days back.

Gaya DM Abhishek Singh admitted that the Dalai Lama was earlier scheduled to leave Bodh Gaya on January 6. “There was no major programme in the next four days and he was only supposed to take rest at the Tibetan monastery here,” said Singh, adding the Dalai Lama has promised to visit Bodh Gaya again in December this year.

“This time he will come directly from Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh),” Singh said and added that his stay added to the tourist and pilgrim footfall. “His followers from South East Asia, Europe and the USA come in large numbers during the spiritual leader’s sojourn,” said Singh.

During his stay, the Dalai Lama offered prayers at the world famous Mahabodhi temple and delivered sermons at the sprawling Kalchakra Maidan. A special prayer session was also held for his long life and good health.

In a remarkable development, the Dalai Lama disapproved symbolism in religion and stressed the need for real welfare of the teeming millions. During his interaction with a group of interfaith forum activists a few days back, he said big monasteries and high statues did not mean much.

He also expressed concern over Bodh Gaya farmers’ land being used for monastery construction. Incidentally, more than 50 monasteries already exist in Bodh Gaya area and several more are in the offing. “Let the land remain with the farmers so that they can produce grain and improve their economy” he said.

The spiritual leader also opened an international seminar on the relevance of Buddhism and favoured more such intellectual exercises.

In view of the serious security threat, elaborate arrangements were made at Bodh Gaya during his stay. Besides 1500 policemen, 200 magistrates were also deployed for his visit to Bodh Gaya.

This is a huge worry and disappointment for the people at the event who are so eager to get teachings from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It is worrisome to see His Holiness the Dalai Lama is getting weaker nowadays and His Holiness's public appearances have reduced alot. The Dalai Lama is already at a ripe old age and he may choose to pass away anytime he wants. He has total control of his death and once the timing is right or the situation of the Tibetan leadership is hopeless, he will manifest death.

I wonder how CTA is feeling right now. They must be quite worried because once His Holiness is gone, they will need to find ways to control the Tibetan and since Karmapa had escaped to the US, they have lost their only hope. They must be really desperate right now. I wonder who will be their next victim to be controlled by them.

I do hope His Holiness the Dalai Lama will regain his health and continues to fight for Tibetans in exile. He is their only hope right now. If there is someone that can bring Tibetans in exile back into Tibet, it will be His Holiness the Dalai Lama. CTA has absolutely no ability to do so and they will not do so either because going back to China is equal to shutting down the CTA as China will never allow another government to exist within their borders.

The Dalai Lama is so old already but he still takes the effort to travel around to give teachings. The CTA however, has not been very kind to him. They always make the Dalai Lama travels around the world so they can ask for more donations. Did they ever do anything to take care of the Dalai Lama's health?

The CTA must be very worried now. If the Dalai Lama is not around anymore, how are the CTA going to make money for themselves? Whatever support they get internationally is because of the Dalai Lama, not because of the CTA. The CTA will not be able to garner so much support on their own because they are famous for corruption.

The Dalai Lama sure looks weaker now. He needs 2 people to hold him when he walks. I don't think the long hour of sitting on the throne and talking for hours is good for the Dalai Lama. Unfortunately, the CTA does not have any other lama who is comparable to the Dalai Lama to perform big initiation like this. The CTA will collapse soon!

I really do feel sad for those who went there to specifically to receive the Kalachakra initiation and blessings from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I guess the merit for them to receive the initiation is not enough and hence the last minute cancellation of the ceremony. It requires alot of merit for anyone to receive a tantric initiation because Tantra is the teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni that can bring us to enlightenment in 1 lifetime if done correctly. The higher the teachings, the more merit that we need to have in order to receive it.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama has been weaker and weaker nowadays and there is no improvement to his health. There is more worrisome news that came out such as His Holiness having cancer and whatnot. It seems like His Holiness the Dalai Lama is really preparing for his departure. I really do hope CTA will get His Holiness's message well and clear and start to support His Holiness's works.

The Tibetans in exile will be in deep trouble if His Holiness passes into clear light before the Tibetans in Exile go back to Tibet. There is no one in the world can bring Tibetans in exile back to Tibet other than the Dalai Lama. Let us pray for His Holiness's long life and always turn the wheel of Dharma.
