A Request from the Dorje Shugden Society

Report from Kathmandu:

Mr. Rinchen Dharlo, the ex-minister of Tibetan government in exile, is traveling to Nepal from America, and so too a Tibetan exile minister from Dharmashala. They are said to preside the meeting where Nyenang people will attend. In the meeting, they will reportedly discuss how to pressurize Phelgyeling monks to recant their religious faith.

The senior monks in the monastery hold a firm stand that they never give up the practice of Shugden, although they supposedly face imprisonment and death because of their religious faith.

The tentative provocative meeting plunged the monks into state of stress and tension.

(The spirit of their meeting is the offence to religious tolerance through insulting religious beliefs and wound religious feelings of Shugden devotees. The meeting could incite people to hold a unlawful assembly which is likely lead to riot. Therefore, your writing to Nepali government can stop the religious intolerance and alleviate the anxiety and uncomfortable life being experienced by Shugde monks, especially the most senior monks in Phalgyeling monastery, Swayambhu, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Report from South India,

May 16, 2008

A meeting was held in the courtyard of Sera Lachi monastery. It was organized by Himalayan Buddhist Association. The monks from the Himalayan regions took part in the meeting. The gist of the meeting is to continuously confront Shugden monks, and to excommunicate them not only from Sera monastery, but also from India.

May 19, 2008

Gan Rabgya, the abbot of Sera-May monastery, summoned two senior monks of Pomra his house. He informed them about the meeting. Since he has concern, he said, he shared with you for your consideration. He added that they have discussed to confront Shugden monks continuously and furthermore, to expel shugden monks from the monastery as well as from India. You still have time to think, or you will be in difficulties.

(This branch association has been actively involved and premeditated the anti-shugden activities in Sera monastery. And it has not yet confirmed whether the head office agree the branch’s anti-shugden activities. It is said that this branch has written to Indian government, appealing that Shugden monks be driven out of the Sera monastery as well as from India. This is a attempt to turn the law into unlawful, and unlawful into law.)

sorry for the stupid question but who to ask if not you, i just don't know:
who's that thomas canada guy, and why on earth is he planning to lead a demonstration of 2000 chinese people against the dalai lama  ???, at least that's what it says here

http://www.sumatiarya.nl/voiceofDorjeShugden.html

it seems counterproductive to the cause considering that we certainly are not supporting whatever the chinese are up to, so i wonder why it's even posted.

thoughts?

thanks.

Thomas Canada has given years of his life to the Dalai Lama's brother --as did other people from Indiana who are members of this website.
He gave away with great generosity the land for the Center that still exists today. When the Dalai Lama went to that Center to give Kalachakra, even though it was open to any people of any religious faith, Thom Canada was forbidden to attend.
It's unheard of to treat in that way the very person to whom you are indebted for your sustenance, even in the world, imagine in Dharma.

Thom suffered in many ways from the relationship with these two brothers, the Dalai lama and Norbu.

We are not in agreement with many of his reactions that he voices in this website.
But beyond the fact that we know the context from which his reactions arise, in general in this Forum, unlike other web discussion sites, our Global Moderator does not erase what people say, unless very gross language is used. Rather we welcome other people's views, and everyone is responsible for his/her statements.

Also, if you peruse the website, you will see that we are quite independent, happily lack uniformity in our approach to Dharma, and we are prone to debate.

Seriously,

Pelgyeling Monastery is like the 'Ganden Shartse' of Nepal. It is the main keeper of the Dorje Shugden practice there. We cannot loose Pelgyeling also because this Monastery has a special connexion with Dorje Shugden since the time of the 5th Dalai-Lama. The 5th Dalai-Lama compose his praise of Dorje Shugden as en enlightened being there and I think they still have this document (I think you can find this somewhere on this website).

Please write to the Nepalese authorities!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kyabje Dagom Rimpoche already passd away, now if Pelgyeling recants because of the pressure from Dharamsala, Nepal will not have any institution to uphold our Lineage.

Please write!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...

The Dalai Lama's duplicity this very moment seems to have gotten to new limits.
To be preaching religious tolerance to the world at large in London, being the host of the Bishop of Canterbury, and be sending Rinchen Dharlo, who was for years his representative in New York and lives in New York ... to send him right now from New York to Nepal, to meet with one of his ministers of the Government in Dharamsala to organize the Tibetan population in Nepal against our monks is beyond comprehension. No wonder the world do not want to believe it, litterally it is unbelievable.

These monks are not numerous and are very old. They have lived in anguish for many years now.
This is might be for them a fatal blow.

I wish I were a medium aged man to take a plane and go there defend them with my own body.

Today I seem to be getting into very old articles on the start the persecution of Shugdenpas and the activities done against them.

All very interesting reads to know the source and time of acute discrimination and persecution.  Looks and sounds like medieval times not the 21st century. Very sad and it is still happening today.
