Geshe Thupten gives Shugden initiation

Geshe Thupten in Shar Gaden currently giving Shugden Sogtae to the Sangha.








Three monks receive the Sogtae while the others wait their turn as they are all gathered in the Shar Gaden Assembly Hall.



The Great Master Geshe Thupten has arrived in Shar Gaden Monastery in South India this year at the invitation of the monks from Switzerland.

He is conferring the following this month and next month (December 2010 and January 2011):

1. Je Tsonkgpa's Masterpiece Trangey Lekshey Nyinpo
2. Yamantaka initiation
3. Dorje Shugden Life entrustment (Sogtae) (initiation)

Geshe Thupten will be there for over one month to give these teachings and transmissions.

In these four pictures he is conferring the DORJE SHUGDEN SOGTAE to the Sangha. By tradition it is given 3 persons at a time. There are 600 monks in Shar Gaden and 200 from Serpom Monastery (ByLakuppe). The 200 hundred from Serpom also took the journey to join in. In one day he is able to give Dorje Shugden Sogtae to 200 monks at a time.

What an incredibly beautiful event. Geshe Thupten is passing the sacred lineages to the sangha of Shar Gaden and Serpom.

This is indeed very good news for me to start the year.

How wonderful to know that senior teachers like Geshe Thupten is visiting an important Shugden monastery to share the teachings of Je Tsongkhapa. The monks in Shar Ganden really deserve this as they have suffered so much.

I am also very excited about the sogtae given to the monks, as I think not many would have received the life-entrustment previously. Wow, these are now 'dedicated'/ specialised Shugden monks  .

Thank you for sharing the news TK. Wonderful that all of us are able to know this and rejoice. This little piece of news goes a long way for us to know that the lineage will continue to be upheld by a new generation of practitioners and scholars.

We are indeed very fortunate that in this degenerate times, we have such erudite masters and living lineage holders who are able to impart living Tantric traditions that has the potential to liberate us from ordinary view and our negative karma. These photos also uplift my heart and many practitioners of Dorje Shugden because more and more authentic practitioners of his will carry, uphold and propagate these sacred lineages to many in the future. The future of Dorje Shugden is in these very Sangha members' hands. I feel very excited for them and for the millions that these Sangha members will touch directly and indirectly. I rejoice! Happy New Year 2011 everyone!

Just think of our own holy gurus, and imagine that within this group of 800 monks, there could be many more masters just like our Gurus, to bring dharma to even more in the world. Think about what our lamas have done for us, and multiply that by all the monks here; think about all the other people in the world who can benefit from these future lamas, just like we have benefited from our very kind teachers.

I believe that sponsoring or supporting an event like this generates a lot, PLENTY, of merit! By sponsoring, you make it possible for so many more sangha to receive the teachings and therefore, create more teachers in the future. What an amazing and beautiful way to contribute and protect the lineage of our protector and Lama tsongkhapa. Then, that creates the merit for us to also always receive teachings and be connected to our teachers.

Would anyone know how we can sponsor something like this? How do we even hear about these teachings or events, or contribute? I didn't know there was going to be a teaching like that; I would have liked to contribute.
