News on HH Gaden Trisur
« on: April 25, 2011, 06:50:31 PM »
Apparently at the end of January there was a private meeting between the Dalai Lama and the Abbots of Gaden Jangtse and Gaden Shartse to discuss what to do with the Gaden Trisur, Lungrik Namgyal.

It was proposed that when Gaden Trisur returns to India, they would expel him and remove his previous title because he was a Shugden practitioner! Does anyone have any information regarding this matter?

Now I thought that Gaden Trisur had already left Gaden Shartse for Shar Gaden, where he has his ladrang. Even his whole khangtsen, Dokhang Khangtsen has moved from Gaden Shartse to Shar Gaden. So an expulsion is not necessary? In any case, surely the TGIE does not have to wait til Gaden Trisur returns to India to 'expel' him? Can titles be removed in retrospect? Any news welcome.

Frankly it just makes HH Dalai lama and his officals look even more pathetic. removing titles to spite another. HH Gaden Trisur has served with dignity and respect during his teniture as Gaden Tripa do remove such a title is effective in casting heavy negative karma upon ones self.  :-\

So anyone who has the audacity to disagree publicly with the Dalai Lama gets stripped of their title and expelled from their monastery, as happened to Geshe Kelsang?

What a sad bunch of people.  It's the worst kind of politics.

I'd be interested to know if this actually happened to HH Ganden Trisur Rinpoche.  Does anyone know?

In the past, due to a name that had very strong Chinese connotations, the Tibetan government who were sensitive to the pressures ruled out the name “Changkya” and declared a high reincarnation to be “Pabongka” instead.  This is the same kind of people/government we're talking about here.

Why was "Changkya" so sensitive to the Chinese?

Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche's previous live was the great Changkya Rolpe Dorje, the imperial tutor to the Emperor of China. This Lama exercise great power over the imperial court and was instrumental for the spread of Lama Tsongkhapa's lineage in China, with the culmination of the Yong He Gong temple in Beijing and numerous other achievements. However, this Lama also represented Chinese presence and influence over Tibet because he often traveled to Tibet for spiritual reasons as well as representing Chinese interests in Tibet. During Pabongka Rinpoche's time, political relations with China was strained and so the Tibetan government felt that recognizing this incarnation would resurrect further Chinese interference in Tibetan affairs. Hence, they officially recognized him as the incarnation of an obscure monastery called Pabongka instead. In other words, the Changkya line is actually sensitive to the Tibetans and not the Chinese.

Thank you BigUncle for your answer. No wonder Pabongka Rinpoche has such a great affinity with China and the Chinese. I learnt from another thread "Where is Pabongka Tulku?" that Pabongka Rinpoche is currently residing in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, China.

Also as shared by Mountains oin the same thread is the following information :

1. His Holiness Kyabje Pabongkha Choktrul Rinpoche resides permanently in Kathmandu, Nepal. He has a ladrang (private residence) there with his assistants and students.

2. He travelled a few times a year for many years now into Tibet to recieve precious transmission, teachings and rare commentaries from Kyabje Denma Konsa Rinpoche. Kyabje Konsa Rinpoche recently entered clear light. They are in process for searching for his unmistaken reincarnation.

3. Otherwise Pabongkha Rinpoche often travels to riwo tsenga or the 5 peaks of Manjushri, Shanxi Province in China. Rinpoche often travels there to engage in secluded retreats.

4. Rinpoche also travels to Shanghai to give dharma discourses to private citizens at the request of his patrons in small groups.

5. Currently, Rinpoche resides a few months out of the year in Beijing where he discourses to private citizens and engages in retreats.

6. The newly formed Serpom Norling Monastery has officially requested Kyabje Pabongkha Choktrul Rinpoche to ascend the throne as their first Abbot. Kyabje Pabongkha is considering and has not replied them yet.

I am sure all these great lamas like Pabongka Rinpoche, Trijang Rinpoche, Ganchen Rinpoche, Gaden Trisur Rinpoche and many more high lamas will work tirelessly and continue  to uphold and spread the Tsongkapa lineage and the Dorje Shugden's sacred practice irrespective of whatever obstacles they face.

May they all live long........and bring tremendous benefits to many more beings.
