« on: May 03, 2011, 10:22:30 AM »
“May I become a protector for the protectorless,
A guide for those who travel on the road,
And, for those who wish to cross the water,
May I become a boat, a ship, a bridge.”
~ Master Shantideva

The fundamental purpose of the Dharma Bridge Foundation is to help support English Language education at the Monastic Universities of Shar Gaden, and Serpom, in India, as well as other places, as opportunity provides.

The Dharma Bridge is happy to report that so far we have sponsored 400 of the 800 English textbooks for the monks here at Shar gaden. The pricipal is very pleased with the many people who have chipped in to help.

I will be posting pictures of the monks with their new books as soon as we complete our goal of sponsoring another 400 textbooks. We are almost there already.

Thank you everyone!

One last thing: The main goal of the Dharma Bridge Foundation is to provide support for our holy Sangha in India, yet do so in a way as to avoid getting enmeshed in any of the current political/philosophical debates surrounding our protector. There is a time and a place for these debates, however, the Dharma Bridge Foundation's only objective is to provide an adequate English education for the monks. We have no agenda, nor do we choose to support any one view about the many issues surrounding the current controvercy.

Due to this, we have had the support of many Holy Lamas and students from various Dharma centers, including those who do not even identify with being a practicing Buddhist.

Regardless of your view on the ban, and the intrigues that this ban may or may not have produced, we can all agree on the fact that we are all working toards the same ends: ensuring that this lineage will flourish and remain pure for future generations.

Thank you again for your support.

Hello friends,

I just wanted to send out a short message to update you on the progress we have made so far in Dharma Bridge Foundation.

First, thanks to everyone's generosity, we are slowly reaching our goal of purchasing a plane ticket for our friend Lozang Gyaltsan to travel to Serpom to teach English to the monks. If we get another few sponsors, we will be able to set a date and get the tickets for him. After that it is just a matter of Lozang getting his visa and off to India he goes.

Also, we are over half way in reaching our goal of sponsoring 800 English textbooks for Shar Gaden. The school principal, Geshe Lobsang Jamyang, is incredibly pleased with our progress, and will be happy to hear that Shar Gaden has so many people who support the education here at the monastery. The principal will be presented $750 tomorrow after the afternoon exams. I will be sure to get a picture or two.

We have also launched a new website to help spread our message, and to give others the opportunity to share in the merits of serving these venerable monks. This is a new venture, so please visit the site often as more content will be added in the coming weeks.

You can now find us at: http://dharmabridge.org/

We are asking once again for your support, whether monitarily or spiritualy, so that we can continue to provide these monks with a proper English education. We believe this is important, as this education will give these monks the tools that will enable them to disseminate this holy Ganden lineage of Lama Je Tsongkhapa to countless beings in our realm.

Here are the links to our two fundRazrs here on facebook. We have reset our goal amounts to align with the levels of our current progress.

For the Shar Gaden Textbook Fund:

To help send an English teacher to Serpom

Thank you everyone for sharing in this important work. The flourishing of our precious lineage is important to us all.

Hello friends,

I am happy to share that the Dharma Bridge Foundation has just reached its goal of sponsoring 800 English textbooks for the students of Shar Gaden. We will now be adding 3 new class levels to English education program! The school principal, Geshe Lobsang Jamyang, is very pleased.

The Dharma Bridge Foundation also wishes to thank this website, and the many people who frequent here, for the instrumental role they are playing in helping us get an English teacher to Serpom Monastery. This website has been a key factor in providing so much of the educational needs for these monasteries. Whatever our views may be on the Dorje Shugden issue, there can be no denying the commitment this website has in proving assistance to our precious lineage. We can all rejoice in the virtue of this website's continued contributions and support.

With much love and gratitude,

Tenzin Sungrab.

There are many issues regarding Dorje Shugden we all agree on. And there are a few issues we don't agree on-so what. We do not need to focus on the differences because our wish to practice Shugden openly without discrimination is the same.

It is better to be united on the many issues we agree on then to be divided on a few issues we don't agree on. Why focus on the differences. We can continue to express our own views without prejudice or wishing to hurt anyone and that is fine. Our forum will support diversity in thoughts and those participating do not need to agree with all our thoughts, but courtesy is so important.

We are happy the new teacher will be going to Serpom Monastery. We hope very much a thread will be started on Serpom and we can all get updates from beautiful Serpom Monastery as we get updates from Shar Gaden. Many practitioners who write and do not write on this forum very much look forward to the news from the Dorje Shugden Monasteries in various parts of the world. Much funds has been raised for them also by us we are happy to update. News and continued news would be very inspiring for our hardworking people, Shugden devotees around the world, sponsors, students, supporters and even teachers.

We are very committed to Dorje Shugden and we will go all the way to promote Shugden, the lineage and practice. We will continue with our website and various other activities.  People may digest the information we present here in the way they deem fit for their practice. Our purpose is to provide information. Sometimes the information may not be agreeable with some, but thousands view this website and everyone can conclude on their own.

We are very happy with humility we have been a key factor in helping with the needs of various Shugden Monasteries in Nepal, Tibet, India and other parts of the world. It is indeed something close to our hearts.

We wish everyone peace and may the ban be lifted or fade soon,

Mana

This website has been continuous in their help of the various monasteries. It is amazing how generous the people of this website are.

They not only provide so much information for someone like me far away from it all, also pictures, articles, videos, up to date information on the ban, biographies, guestbook,  forum for discussion, raising funds to help our lineage, video illustrations on Dorje Shugden's life, downloads on sacred texts/prayers, and the list goes on. Such comprehensive website. Such a one stop to get information on Shugden.  It is just phenomenal how this website has grown. It is so beneficial.

I am so happy to join in with Tenzin Sungrab in his appreciation of this website. I very much appreciate this space also.

Thank you very much.

Here is a picture of all of the students of Shar Gaden school with their new English textbooks.
Thank you to all of the generous sponsors!

The Dharma Bridge Foundation is also very close in reaching its goal of sponsoring the airfare for our friend to come to India to teach English at Serpom Monastery. Very exciting.

A nice thank you card has been sent to all of the sponsors of the English textbooks. The principal has signed every card and attached the Shar Gaden official stamp on the inside cover. It is wonderful to have so many people sharing in the merits of projects like these. Everyone wins!

I am so happy to hear that this Dharma Bridge Foundation has been finding sponsors for 800 books for the education of monks in Shar Gaden and Serpom. I understand that the target has almost been reached. In addition also to sponsor an English teacher to teach monks in Serpom Monastery. Since Shar Gaden and Serpom Monastery are involved in the practice of Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden would help them to find sponsorships for the monks to study English. As this will be an asset to the young monks when they leave for foreign countrties to spread Dharma. As Dorje Shugden is also a Buddha as well as a Protector he will help practitioners who have the right motivation to maintain the Lineage of Lama Tsongkapa.

Just finished the Dorje Shugden puja sponsored by the Dharma Bridge Foundation here at Shar Gaden.

Monetary offerings were presented to the 25 senior monks and Geshes that attended. Khatas were then offered to Dorje Shugden and his entourage.

This puja was dedicated to everyone who has helped with the various projects of the Dharma Bridge. What a blessing to have a puja performed on your behalf.

Thanks again everyone!

Good news!

The Dharma Bridge has reached its goal of sponsoring our friend Lozang to come to India in order to teach English at Serpom Monastery.

There is another group, operating primarily on facebook, that is also gathering support for his personal expenses while he is in India.

The Dharma Bridge Foundation has received much support and encouragement from several Lamas of our lineage. Also, one monk from Shar Gaden is now a director of the Dharma Bridge. Seems like the is just the start of many good things to come.
What a great way to pay it forward for everyone involved.
