Yongyal Rinpoche visits Shar Gaden 1st time
« on: January 09, 2012, 10:22:10 PM »
His Eminence Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche is a student of Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche. He is a very learned master with many practices. He is a most qualified teacher from Serpom and is Serpom Monastery’s first and current abbot. Here he is making his first visit to Shar Gaden Monastery to confer the novice monk vows on the Kyabje Domo Geshe Choktrul Rinpoche. He is recieved with the highest honors and respects as accorded to such a great master such as himself.

You are fortunate to see this video of the Shar Gaden sangha with great respect receiving Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche’s visit to their Monastery.

Yes, it's a rare honor and opportunity to receive this video to watch. The Shar Gaden Sangha has put on much pageantry and ceremony to honor and respect this great learned and highly qualified Master, Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche, who has come to Shar Gaden on his first visit to confer the novice monk vows on Kyabje Domo Geshe Choktrul Rinpoche. Their show of homage and respect to Kyabje Yongal Rinpoche, the abbot of Serpom Monastery, began  with escorting Yongyal Rinpoche from Hubli town to Shar Gaden in a motorcade of over 28 vehicles. Then a fanfare of traditional music from horn and clarinet accompanied Yongyal Rinpoche all the way into Shar Gaden Monastery. Then there was the lovely ceremony of the Offering of Body, Speech and Mind, not forgetting too the offering of khata by innumerable members of the Sangha.

Yes, by these great acts of homage and respect to a highly venerated Holy Being and Great Lama and Master, Shar Gaden's Sangha(which includes the old and the young), show us how we should pay homage to the Three Precious Jewels and to great Lamas who teach and spread the Dharma of Lord Buddha and ensure the continuity of the Dharma to posterity.

How exciting! Just recently Khen Rinpoche, abbot of Shar Gaden went over to Serpom Monastery to officiate their new Prayer Hall! Now we read that His Eminence Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche went over to Shar Gaden to confer monk vows on Kyabje Domo Geshe Choktrul Rinpoche.

It is nice to see abbots of different monasteries supporting one another. What more Monasteries that practices Dorje Shugden. With all the pressure going on, there is a need to support one another. I watched a video on youtube recently, on the opening of Serpom's new prayer hall, Yongyal Rinpoche was welcomed very grandly with an entourage of 20 over cars. Many, many monks and practitioners formed two long lines to welcome their abbot to the Monastery. This is something I have not seen with my own eyes before. Very moving indeed!

I am sure when Yongyal Rinpoche visited Shar Gaden, the monastery gave him a grand welcome as well. It was nice to view the video of Rinpoche visiting the monastery. I wish I was there myself!

To bestow novice monks on someone that the 13th Dalai Lama said is Tsongkhapa himself... Yongya Rinpoche must be someone! At the very least, even if he didnt come from an illustrious line of incarnations (thats not to say he doesnt... I actually dont know!), it shows that if you hold your vows well, you become capable of conferring vows on to others as a vow holder yourself. Means its def possible for all of us to gain attainments through our practice.

Yongyal Rinpoche is a very gentle, kind and full of compassion high lama. I had been listened to a teaching from Yongyal Rinpoche, Yongyal Rinpoche says he don't care about ban issue, but he more care about how to spread dharma and DS to benefit many. Rinpoche says ban can not stop people to practice ds or learn dharma. What Rinpoche interest is how ds can grow and how dharma can spread in all the world to help people.

Rinpoche don't want talk much about ban issue but he keeping repeat always seem dharma is our priority, must be serious about it. Because it is our spiritual, it is ultimate goal for our life.

Wow, it is really an honour for Shar Gaden to host Yongyal Rinpoche for the first time on a very auspicious occasion. Yongyal Rinpoche is highly respected among the monastic community and he is the tutor of the current Trijang Rinpoche. I heard that the welcome given to Yongyal Rinpoche was the highest honour which could be bestowed to a high lama.

It is really nice to see the 2 abbots of Shar Gaden and Serpom Monasteries visiting each other and making connections. To add to what Tsangpakarpo has written, Khen Rinpoche of Shar Gaden was also given a respectable position when he was seated next to Yongyal Rinpoche at the official Inauguration of the Serpom Prayer Hall.

Let's hope there will be more exchange of relations between the 2 monasteries to foster a better relationship.

At this time, the support of Shugden practitioners being united is vital and necessary.  Those who are affected by the ban suffered tremendously so sticking together is very important for now.   It is great to see them support of each other's work.  The more united we are, the ban will be lifted even sooner.  Why?  If Shugden practice spreads like wild fire, how can CTA controlled other people's religious freedom of other country?  I guess being a non-Tibetan, it is vital for us to help the monks, the monastery, those whose practice were suppressed...  We can actually help from the outside.  By saying this, it reminds me again this website has been providing me so much info and materials for me to promote Shugden so handy!  i will not stop and will not let all these high lamas, old monks, young monks' effort gone wasted...

Yes, Yongyal Rinpoche does not talk much about the ban. In one of the audiences, someone requested for a ban for Dorje Shugden to be lifted soon, and he replied, ban or not it is not important. What is important is we spread the Dharma because it can bring happiness to people.

To me, it is quite obvious that he knows about the BIG plan to spread Dorje Shugden :) May be he is well exposed... But seeing the old monks (who spent most of their lives in monastery) confused, I would really like to see the ban lifted very soon...

May be within 2-3 years??

Dear Kris, if we all work hard together to spread the practice of Dorje Shugden, I am sure the ban will be lifted much sooner.

There are many things we can do to help spread the practice. For example, contribute articles to dorjeshugden.com, print the brochures available to give out to friends and family or even strangers (your kind deed might just help save a life!), share the practice on social media (ie facebook, twitter, blogs), enhance our knowledge about Dorje Shugden (for us to explain the practice to other people better), contribute in terms of donations to support the operations of dorjeshugden.com....

Anymore ideas how we can help spread Dorje Shugden to the whole world?

How can you change HHDL's mind ? This is the only way to get the ban lifted and HH  has said he will never change his mind.  :o

Interesting question you have there. In my opinion, whether or not the ban will be lifted does not matter. I say this because if many people start practicing Dorje Shugden and the practice continues to spread all over the world, do you think the ban will be effective still?

Wishing thinking, but if most people in this world practice Dorje Shugden then the ban will become NOTHING. Tough but not impossible. As long as everyone unites and work extra hard to spread this sacred practice, anything is achievable.

This is one way to look at it.

I really love this picture of Yongyal Rinpoche (together with the young Zemey Rinpoche)

Everytime I see picture of Yongyal Rinpoche, I feel this energy of calm and peace, and when he smile, it is like I can put the problem of the world to side..

In replying that, I am sure it is Yongyal Rinpoche advising the group in audience to not be too narrow-minded and focus too much on the ban and neglect their practice/ path to enlightenment to benefit others. It doesn't mean we just forget about the ban and just focus on spreading Dharma.

I feel what Yongal Rinpoche said in response to a question below is very apt to share here, Rinpoche was replying to whether or not normal people who go about their ordinary lives in their families and communities can affect the world situation:

"Yes. In epidemics, one person gets sick and it spreads. In the same way, peace needs to start from one person and spread through the family, community and region. One person can definitely have an impact on world peace. In Tibet there is a saying: A drop of water can create an ocean. Please convey my request that everyone do whatever they can to create peace in their hearts".

Hence, all of us should do what we can to lift the ban, even if we are one person.

Although His Holiness has only allowed Trijang Rinpoche to carry on with the practice of Dorje Shugden, many great masters has started to stand up against the ban. This video is a good example of what is currently happening. Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche’s publicized visit to Shar Gaden shows us clearly of his strong faith towards the great Dharmapala practice and how he is not afraid to speak up and influence others to do the same.

Small | Large

The video of the inauguration ceremony of Serpom Monastery sees the oracle invoking the great Dharmapalas - Dorje Shugden, Setrap, Jowo Chingarwa and Kache Marpo (main attendant to Dorje Shugden, also an enlightened Dharmapala on his own). When Kache Marpo took trance, he made offerings and paid respect to Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche in a peaceful form (minute 6:00). This clearly shows that Rinpoche is a living Buddha.

"When Kache Marpo takes trance of the qualified oracles he may give prophecies, advice, blessings and healing of diseases depending what is necessary. He is very patient and very helpful to those who practice Dharma sincerely.

When Kache Marpo takes trance, he may appear wrathful or peaceful depending on the location he is in. If the people in a certain area are aggressive, full of anger and stubborn, Kache Marpo would take on a wrathful form. On the contrary, if the people are compassionate, loving and patient, Kache Marpo would take on a calm and peaceful form."

I heard from the monks in both Shar Gaden & Serpom that when Yongyal Rinpoche first arrived in India last year for the opening of Serpom, he was very worried about the future of these 2 monasteries. However after spending 2 months in both these monasteries, he was happy before he returned to the US. The monks told us that it was because Yongyal Rinpoche was happy that both these Shugden monasteries are alright and have a good backing. Basically, they are doing well with support from all the big Gelugpa/Shugden centers all around.

I am not worried as these monasteries has very good credible HIGH Lamas such as Trijang Rinpoche, Domo Geshe Rinpoche and etc. They will be fine and more powerful in time then Gaden Shartse and Sera Mey.
