Oh well, all the sources claimed are always so long ago. They are always from Lamas that were long dead and the sources are sketchy and subject to interpretation. Perhaps the details were mistaken or that they were taken out of context. Can the sources be more up-to-date and relevant?
Despite all the apparent disapproval from these Lamas, why can't they just banish Dorje Shugden or just kill him off with a powerful ritual. Why are they so afraid of Dorje Shugden and if he is so harmful, they might as well just kill him off so he never takes trance and answer prayers anymore. Even if he is an unenlightened Protector like Nechung, than he should be allowed to be practiced. Why allow Nechung to be practiced and ban Dorje Shugden, who is an emanation of Manjushri? Everything is contradictory.
Obviously, their attempts failed miserably because how can delusions overcome a Buddha? They tried to get rid of Dorje Shugden but they failed, so now they are trying to erase Dorje Shugden from the minds of people and taint his image in their minds and they think that this will be the same as destroying Dorje Shugden. Unfortunately for CTA, this step only creates more misfortune for themselves.
Up to now, I find something very interesting. If Dorje Shugden can take trance, why does the Dalai Lama not visit Dorje Shugden through a trance and give Dorje Shugden a scolding, once and for all, and order him to never ever take trance again or appear in the name of Tibetan Buddhism, forever. Why not? I don't understand why can't this be done when the CTA can ban reincarnation of certain lamas from coming back.
It is very interesting that in the Dalai Lama's version of the story, there is a part that after Setrab saved Shugden from the ladle ritual, the 5th Dalai Lama wrote an admonishment letter to Setrab and it was said that when the letter was read at his shrine the whole place "shook in fear". Again dates and times were not clear, and the contents of the letter is nowhere to be found. Another historical distortion and cover up?
What is also missing is the fact that everyone failed to kill Dorje Shugden no matter how they tried. Pretty soon they will have to change history altogether and erase facts like how feudalism was widely practiced in Tibet and how the Tibetan capital punishment system involves chopping the hands of offenders…oh wait, they have. But unfortunately for them, China also happens to have the unmodified version of their history.
