We, as Buddhists, should not forget that we have been many beings before. We have been animals, we have been ghosts, we have been spirits, we have been gods, we have been humans, and we have been drag-queens too. Everyone. We have been gay and straight and have engaged in many more versions of lust.
Maybe we should recall that when we are tempted to judge others or look down upon others.
I personally do not find it any particularly strange that a drag queen becomes a monk. Why not?
A plumber could become a monk, a murderer too, a pilot too.
To become a monk is a potential that every human has.
It is a potential that every sentient being has, now or later.
