This is intriguing. Of course i know it is Chinese propaganda and they don't put a link to the "internet" guide (though that does not necessarily validate the document as anyone can get a domain name and put up a document)... so i am rather skeptical but if you read in between the lines, some of the points raised are valid.

Another reason for the publication of the "Self-immolation Guide" is that self-immolations haven't achieved the effect in the international community as the Dalai clique had expected. Even if some Western powers who always support the Dalai clique dare not take such a huge risk of losing political reputation or moral legality to support manipulating self-immolations, which is a converted violence and terrorism publicly.

The international community does not care about the self-immolations.. Now there are like over 100 self-immolations and NOTHING has happened.

BEIJING, March. 1 (Xinhuanet) -- Recently, the Dalai clique published a "Self-immolation Guide" on the Internet, openly encouraging the Tibetans within the Chinese border to "carry out self-immolations according to the plan and procedures".

"The Self-immolation Guide" demonstrates a sober attitude in scheming and arranging the cruel actions of self-immolations, which makes it stand out among many propaganda of the Dalai clique, and thus soon get intensive spotlight.

The book is published in his own name only for the "Tibetan government-in-exile" to avoid public condemnation toward its overt manipulation of self-immolations. The author of the "Instructions" is Lhamo Je, who had been a "member of the parliament" for two terms in the "parliament" of the Dalai clique and is now still on important position in its "educational system".

The "Self-immolation Guide" consists of four parts. The first part is an ideological mobilization which advocates the idea that self-immolators are "great and honorable fearless heroes" and that "both male and female heroes" should be ready at all times to sacrifice for the "just cause".

The second part gives detailed instruction on the "self-immolation preparation", including "picking important days and places", "leaving written or recorded last words", and "asking a couple of trustworthy people to help record videos and take photos".

The third part introduces the "self-immolation slogans" and instructs the self-immolators to shout "Free Tibet, let the Dalai Lama return to Tibet, and release political prisoners" and so forth, and asks them to print out the slogans into leaflets to scatter them on the spots so as to increase the impact.

The fourth part illustrates "other non-violent activities" such as "shouting loudly the campaign slogans at schools and other populated places", "making public speeches", and "filing petitions to the central government", and pints out that "it is very important to launch various activities in the fields of politics, economy, religion and culture."

No matter from which perspective, this "Self-immolation Guide" can yet be regarded as "a remarkable piece of writing", for it is tantamount to the "confession" of the Dalai clique who has committed the crime of manipulating self-immolations.

As the head of the "Tibetan government-in-exile" has asked the Chinese government to show evidence of the Dalai clique's manipulation of the self-immolations, and "welcome" the Chinese group to go to Dharamsala to search for evidence, they have now made the evidence public by themselves.

The reliability of the evidence is not only lies in the source of the writer, a senior official of the Dalai clique, but also in the confirmation of every item of the contents listed by all the self-immolations happened before.

In fact, almost every self-burning happened on the spot just like what the "Guide" had planned - someone videoing the scene, someone shouting separatist slogans, inciting and gathering some people to stop the government from taking rescue actions.

Sometimes the Dalai clique was able to hype the burning cases with the photos and personal data of the self-immolators even within dozens of minutes.

The contents of the "last words" shouted by the self-immolators are exactly the same with the "Guide".

According to Lorang Konchok, who has pleaded guilty of intentional homicide that he acted on the instructions of the Dalai clique, who required him to make use of his status and influence in the temple, and incited, instigated and coerced others to burning themselves with the help of his nephew.

Before the self-burning happened, Lorang Konchok recorded the individual and family information of the self-immolator and took photos for them. Once the self-immolation crime was committed, he sent the information immediately to the Dalai clique through a cell phone call.

The "Self-immolation Guide" aims to "standardize and systematize the self-immolation behavior so as to manipulate it like an assembly line in the future", and reach the "more efficient" goal put forward by the Dalai Lama.

The "Self-immolation Guide" also gives a slap to some Western forces. In order to contain and split China, for many years these forces have set the Dalai Lama as a "non-violent" struggle model.

After the self-immolation incidents, they completely disregarded the fact, denied the crimes committed by the Dalai clique, and accused the policy made by the Chinese government causing the self-immolations. Furthermore, they even showed sympathy for and "concern" to those criminals who have been sentenced to jail in line with the Chinese law to encourage the self-immolation manipulators.

The publication of the "Self-immolation Guide", which openly admitted the crime of the Dalai clique's inciting and scheming self-immolations,its political motivations as well as its future plans of continued manipulations hasn't saved faces of his Western masters.

Why did the Dalai clique publish the "Self-immolation Guide" at this moment? The reason is that the extremists among them feel desperate.

According to the Canadian Sing Tao Daily, the 14th Dalai Lama once instructed his followers earnestly and tirelessly, "Suppose we resort to arms to achieve our objective, we need guns and ammunition in the first place, but who will sell them to us? If we find the seller, where can we get the money? Even if we have money and get guns, how can these guns be transported to China and through which county border? The CIA once air-dropped guns for us, which happened in the past and will never happen again."

The 14th Dalai Lama drew a lesson from his own failures: That seeking "Tibet independence" through violent activities publicly didn't work, and it is better to adopt the "Middle-way Approach", which can deceive the world and seek "Tibet independence" indirectly. However, this political plot hasn't made any progress since its existence, and even the channel of contact and talk with Chinese central government was blocked by themselves.

Up to now, the scheme of manipulating self-immolations has been worked out by racking their brains as "the highest form of non-violent struggle" ,which will be doomed. All of these make some extremists more and more impatient, so they had to publish the "Self-immolation Guide", hoping this wicked fire extinguish with some "achievements" at least.

The head of the "government-in-exile" lamented, "self-immolation in Tunisia can be the catalyst of the Arab Spring, why cannot we get the same support from the international community as that in the Arab world?" , reported the New York Times on Feb. 3rd .

A comment from the Chinese News Net pinpointed, "In fact, the self-immolations of Tibetans have rarely received support from the international community."

It is hard to imagine that how the international community can support such brutal and inhumane acts. The Chinese government doesn't create conditions to encourage Tibetans to self-immolate. Hence it cannot be condemned.

Western countries all understand the background of the self-immolations. They have given enough faces for not condemning the "Tibetan government-in-exile".

The Dalai clique attempted to prompt more self-immolations through publishing the "Self-immolation Guide" in order to beg for more international compassions. This act has actually made the international community to recognize the ferocity and insanity of the Dalai clique clearly, and urged some Western powers to hold back when supporting the Dalai clique.

The "Self-immolation Guide" published by the Dalai clique at the moment attempted to make a political blackmail, against the Chinese government, but it turned out to be in vain.

If plotting "Tibet independence" failed in 1959 through the military confrontation and armed rebellion, how it would be possible to make it by inciting several poor people to burn themselves?

As a matter of fact, through the joint efforts of all levels of the local governments at the spots of the incidents, the frequency of self-immolation has been curbed and the evidence of the Dalai Lama's role in manipulating self-immolation has been made clear. Many criminals, whose acts are detested by the local people, have been brought to justice.

All of these fully show the unpopularity of the Dalai clique in China and the popularity of Chinese government. The Chinese government will win the battle of the anti self-immolations as long as it does not get illusion toward the Dalai clique, nor expects some Western forces to be kind, but keep the situation under control on the basis of our own works.

The Dalai clique's fantasy that every self-immolation will exert some pressure on the Chinese government will be highly counter-productive. On the contrary, every self-immolation case occurred was an additional bloody crime the Dalai clique committed for its own ethnic Tibetans.

Did the Dalai clique include the plotters of the "Self-immolation Guide" tell the public repeatedly that self-immolation is a kind of "peaceful protest" and expect to get the same attention as the vendors in Tunisia? Then please teach yourselves by following the guide first like what the netizens have called for. If you dare not burn yourselves, please stop the folly as early as possible.

Just as Luxun, a famous Chinese writer said that people who are alive themselves have no right to persuade others to die. So do it yourself first if you believe it is a good idea to die.

The signs and symptoms of self immolations are the machinations of the head of the CTA from the start and he does this with the Dalai Lama's full knowledge. Perhaps the first few self immolations back in 2008 was not intentional, but the large amounts of self immolations that followed later came from the CTA's direct support for the self immolations and everyone can guess that CTA is playing a pivotal role in encouraging the self immolations. The western media is skewed to making people think that the self immolations happen due to China being oppressive but they do not want to tell the true story as they have their own agendas. What is interesting is that China does have proof that the CTA incited the self immolations. This is going to be interesting.

Just in case you are about to allow yourself some glimmer of hope that with the impending change in the Chinese leadership, dialogue between China and Tibet may resume leading to some fruitful outcome, you may be wise to remind yourself that the Tibetans, especially the CTA have always managed to find a way to sabotage their own cause.

For all their rhetoric and play-acting the part of the victim, The CTA has finally shown their true color and let slip what may very well be the primary reason behind over 100 self immolations by Tibetans over recent years. Instead of taking steps to curb these senseless acts, the Tibetan government in exile has allowed the publication of a self-immolation guide book which is nothing short of calling for more suicides by Tibetans. We may we shocked at this but then again, why should we reel in disbelief that a government of an already broken nation would do this to their own people when the same government thought nothing of banning a religious practice, persecuting its own people, stifling free speech and democracy and completely putting an end to their hopes of returning to their homeland?

I read this post with considerable despair for the Tibetan people. In addition, I anxiously await an official response from Dr Lobsang Sangay as to why this has been allowed.

I wish that the Dalai Lama and the CTA will stop hoping that something will happen and just tell people to stop self-immolating already. After all, the Dalai Lama and CTA told Tibetans to ostracise Dorje Shugden practitioners and most of the Tibetans went along with it, so why would they not follow the instructions from the Dalai Lama and the CTA if they told the Tibetans to stop self-immolations!

Sometimes silence does speak louder than words - I think the very fact that the CTA and the Tibetan leadership have remained relatively silent on the subject is suspicious enough, suggesting perhaps their quiet encouragement behind the scenes, or agreement with what is happening.

If they really were so strongly against people setting themselves alight, surely the leadership would have issued a strong statement against this already; so should the Dalai Lama. Other spiritual leaders within the Tibetan Buddhist community, such as the Karmapa have already spoken strongly against this. Why hasn't the Dalai Lama? Isn't he horrified at these acts of self-inflicted violence? Or the upheaval it causes for the very country that the Tibetans are trying to endear themselves to, to get freedom?

For as long as the CTA and the Dalai Lama remain silent and neutral on the subject, the more the Tibetans and immolators will take it as endorsement and approval for what they are doing - well they're certainly not being told for for it in any way, so it wouldn't be surprising for them to think it was permissible for them to continue.

Check the thread on self-immolations on this forum. It's reached over 11 pages! It looks like the world has a lot to say about these tragic cases. Only the CTA don't.

The CTA and the Dalai Lama, not only do not speak out against self-immolation but they dedicate prayers to them and basically makes martyrs out of them. It does not surprise me that some simple Tibetans would think that self-immolation is serving the Dalai Lama, which makes sense because as they are dying, they call out in the name of the Dalai Lama! I am sure the self-immolators are being sincere in their ultimate though futile action of guru devotion.

The Dalai Lama has said before that he did not want to condemn the self-immolators because it would hurt the families of those who had self-immolated. Personally that is a cop out - what about the families of all those future self-immolators who would be hurt? What about Dorje Shugden practitioners who have been hurt for years now? Where is the consideration for them?

Not speaking against self-immolation simply shows you condone the act. The CTA sure is doing so by not speaking up and for all the lives that has been burned up... the karma the CTA collects will be very heavy. How can they not consider that since they are Buddhist??? Or are they saying they are not? Then why bother promoting Buddhism?

China is probably laughing their heads of over these silly Tibetans burning themselves up and saying "good riddance" to all these trouble makers! Why are they so silly? Like killing themselves would serve to bring more chances for a free Tibet? If every Tibetan self-immolated, then there would be no need for a free Tibet anyways?

Instead of burning themselves up they should work towards making friends with the Chinese Govt and slowly persuade them to help preserve their culture and the Dharma while adapting to the modernization that China is providing and taking this advantage to become better, more educated and obtain an easier, less harsher lifestyle. Use the modern facilities to spread Dharma. But I guess what do we know hu since being attached to a piece of land is far more important than one's peace of mind, happiness and after life.

It will come to a day where the Tibetans inside and outside of Tibet will lose their faith, confidence and trust in the CTA. When that happens, even the people in Dharamsala will reject the current CTA as their leader and that will be it for the CTA and that will be their end. If CTA wants to enter dialogue with China, they MUST do something to stop the self immolations. They cannot say things like it is every Tibetan's sacred duty to support the self immolations because it is NOT sacred in any way, it is only serving the CTA's selfish purposes and agendas, which is to bring more attention to Tibet with self immolations. Attention from the media about the Tibetan cause will not work as it is based on pity and lies. CTA should clean up their act before entering dialogue.
