People vs. the Inner Enemy
« on: September 14, 2013, 06:40:32 PM »
Dorje Shugden gives powerful insight in these degenerate times, insight about our minds and about our world.

When we see suffering and especially understand the contributing factors more deeply by things such as examining subject matter on infowars.com, there is a danger of developing intense anger and hatred for the people perpetuating intense criminal actions.

We must not forget the bigger picture, that the meaning of life is to elevate our consciousness and the consciousness of others.

We must not forget the instructions in 8 Verses of Mind Training that people are not their inner enemies but are being tormented by them. This helps us generate and cultivate genuine compassion for people perpetuating negativity rather than following our misguided uncontrolled tendency for wrong view and wrong intention. Our compassion is not passive, but a proactive engagement of virtuous intention and view, and it moves us to act, to inform ourself, to inform others, and to respond to negativity with virtue.

I believe that these negativities that arise from our minds come from the negative karma that we all have. And it is because of this, we have to constantly collect merits through our different acts of kindness, as well as from the merits we collect from our prayers.

It is true that Dorje Shugden can help us in these degenerated times, but we have to fully surrender ourselves to him, allowing transformation to take place. And at the same time believe and have stronger faith whenever obstacles come in our way. This is because these obstacles would be ways that would help us purify our negative karma that we accumulate daily and from our past lives.
