Lie by lie, lie over lie....
« on: June 28, 2014, 08:33:18 AM »
One of the very important qualities of a successful person, and one of the qualities emphasized a lot in Buddhists teachings is honesty.

However, it is very sad that Robert Thurman, who has been following HH Dalai Lama for so many years, are cooking up lies after lies. For whatever the reasons, it is not totally not acceptable!

To me, Lie #2 is so not acceptable. What do you mean there is no ban? There are so many people who suffered because of this ban, and you said there is no ban? Are you serious? Are you being ignorant or just plain lying?

What do you all think about all these lies? Are they all worth it?

There is definitely a ban going on and they are denying it!! A lot of people especially the Tibetans have suffered from this ban. Even though they do not officially call it a ban, they did say that people are allowed to practice Dorje Shugden privately/ If a person could not practice his religion freely in his own free will, then where is the freedom? The CTA is limiting their freedom to practice and that constitutes a ban.

They are definitely lying. In the article, the Dorje Shugden website has successfully rebutted each and every lie that Robert Thurman came up with. They are substantiated with evidence of articles published previously and videos of speeches by the Dalai Lama. What else more proof is needed? The whole reason they brought up the issue of Dorje Shugden again is because the pressure from the international community to lift the ban has increased tremendously in recent years and more and more people are aware of this ban. It is not as rosy as the Dalai Lama states in his love and compassion speeches all over the world. The Dalai Lama is definitely contradicting himself where he spreads love to the world, he is ignoring the plight of his people and their suffering.

Well, this is the time to tell lies, to hurt, to discriminate, to bully.. else what CTA can do? What Dalai Lama's followers can do?
They fail to go back to China, failed to restore the Buddhism to the world, failed to unite their people. To cover all this failure, they can only put on drama, not dharma. So that the tension on them on the real issues will fade off.
This is the only thing they are capable now. Shame on CTA. Even the Tibetan Youth begin to realise the truth. And they still tell lies. Fantastic

Is lying second nature to CTA? Lying can become an addiction like smoking and drinking alcohol,it provides comfort and becomes a fall  back mechanism to use when you're faced with uncomfortable feelings.
Quit lying CTA,as it is essential to your well being. And like any other addiction, the first step is admitting that you have a problem. The world is watching! Even the Tibetan youths are realizing the truth!. So stop lying!

It's true that the Dalai Lama's destroying Buddhism, if we let him, lie by lie.  Look what he did to the Kagyus; look at what he does to Shugden practitioners.  Robert Thurman is one of his cronies--- the Dalai Lama's school has been politically powerful for a long time--- since the 5th Dalai Lama particularly; the 5th Dalai Lama exiled the 10th Karmapa, according to Gelugpa sources, the Dalai Lama thought the Karmapa was trying to get people to wage war with the Dalai Lama--- what a total lie about the Karmapa okay--- and yet the Dalai Lama Gelugs generally recite this stuff as though it were true--- the 5th Dalai also didn't like Dorje Shugden at first.
So the 14th, the 5th, exhibit poor taste in their treatment of holy beings, okay.  But this is how it's been done for centuries--- just by lying to oppressed and generally uneducated people.

Christine, I agree with you. it's spin city at CTA now. Ever watch the movie '"Wag the Dog"? Very apt. LOL
I guess, with Robert Thurman, it's a case of 'the Dalai Lama is my good friend'. Period'. He is destroying his credibility.

People like Robert are quite " unique ", if there wasn't a ban, why do you think people would go for demonstrations? Why is it that Dorje Shugden practitioners are discriminated? There are so many proves to proof that the ban exists, why do they have to lie???

Robert Thurman lies because he wants to be consistent with HH Dalai Lama and the same for the CTA. They are just following the Dalai Lama and acting to protect His Holiness' reputation. Whatever the reasons His Holiness bans the practice, I do not agree but I still respect His Holiness for His other works in spreading Buddhism especially to the West.
Holy beings have highly skill methods in propagating the Dharma depending of the karma of the age. Two holy beings can appear to be against each other but Trijang Rinpcohe has advise that in the future, the Dalai Lama and the Protector may appear to be opposite, but do not disparage either. His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche's advise must be taken to heart. This advise is the Dharma, this is the practice. Regard both as correct and respect.
Coming back to Robert Thurman, in the scheme of things, he seems to be part of the skillful means, whether he knows it or not.
