Is Robert Thurman a Secret Admirer/Student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso?

If you watch this video at around 5:40 you will see Bob presiding over a Fire Puja at Mount Kailash and looked like he is using Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's text "Essence of Vajrayana" for the instructions.  You will see the text book on the table next to Bob during the Fire Puja.  Geshe Kelsang Gyatso is a famous Shugden practitioner and Bob who is slandering, bad mouthing Dorje Shugden and always fighting with Shugden practitioners over the Shugden practice is using Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's Essence of Vajrayana"?!!!. 

I am flabbergasted. Bob got to be a secret admirer or student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso!

Oh My Dorje Shugden! I think Robert Thurman is helping Dalai Lama to get Dorje Shugden more well known to the world. Actually without this ban, Dorje Shugden will not be that famous.

To add on, anyone who read on Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's book will definately agreed that Geshe-la is a high Lama who. He written lots of good books.

Geshela has written amazing Dharma books for NKT students and all dharma aspirants. The books are modern and contemporary in its presentation.

I have enjoyed Geshela's books and they help me to learn every quickly, so Bob would be very clever to rely on the dharma texts by Geshela for the fire puja. Which also could indicate that Bob did not believe Dorje Shudgen was a demon, his actions and rhetoric are in contradiction.

I'm not surprised Robert Thurman has used Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's books as references. Many people do. I personally have learned a lot about Tibetan Buddhism and Dorje Shugden's practice from His Eminence's books. Geshela is really one of the greatest Buddhist scholars of our time.

It is not the first time pro Dalai Lama people to condemn the Dorje Shugden lamas but at the same time use the works of these masters, especially the works of Pabongka Rinpoche. It is very contradictory, but then again, their logic to ban this great Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden itself are contradicting, so there is nothing new too.

IMHO, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso is very well established and the hundreds of thousands of followers all cannot be fooled at the same time. His work is good, so why not? We should not discriminate works based on a deity alone.

There is much confusion created here by Thurman who either support secretly from behind or otherwise. Either way, due to the controversies, Dorje Shugden has been spread far and wide.

I admire Robert Thurman's work too as much as Geshe's work. Geshe's work is different in the sense that it is purely Dharma and Bob's work are more targeted to the beginners and lay westerners. I am pleasantly surprise that bob was using Geshe's work. Perhaps he has all of Geshe's works. LOL. Really interesting to know.

On a side note, I think anyone close enough to the Dalai Lama is in on the plan of promoting the Uncommon Protector. I truly believe that.

Dear Bob. I am a secret admirer of you too. Don't be shy to admit that you are an admirer of Geshela even though he is a "spirit worshipper" and will go to the hells for that. Maybe you also would like to go to the hells for a visit and to help Geshela with his work?
Since, I am an admirer of you, albeit openly, you should too, since you are an expert in buddhism and lying is against the practice and the vows in Buddhism. Just admit it. Otherwise, it is rather difficult to explain to your "followers" why you are using Geshela's text.

I wonder when did Bob perform this fire puja?
Maybe he can go through Geshe-la's books again and review it. This would be very beneficial.

Due to blurring it is uncertain if the book is EOV. There are other books of similar cover and layout by publishers such as Tushita, Mahayana Sutra and Tantra Press, Dechen Ling Press and others.

Besides, EOV does not contain detailed instructions on fire puja, those are found in Guide to Dakini Land.

Oh, here we go, here's some confirmation - around 2:20 you see him place the book against the wall then starts to recite from it, and the words used indicate the puja he is performing is not from EOV.

Geshe-la has written tremendous good books and its no surprise that Robert Thurman find good source of information in Geshe-la books. Robert Thurman must have been secretly reading Geshe-la books for sometime now. It goes to show Geshe-La is a High Lama and no doubt about it.

THE BOOK IS NOT ESSENCE OF VAJRAYANA so no need for people to keep remarking about how he's secretly studying Geshe-la's books etc etc!

1) There are many books with same cover layout from other publishers and the image in video is blurry

2) Essence of Vajrayana does not contained detailed instructions on fire puja

3) Thurman props book against wall to recite from it and proceeds to recite a sadhana the is not from Essence of Vajrayana
