The Dalai Lama Supports One China Policy
« on: April 10, 2017, 11:49:40 PM »
An interesting article about the recent statements from the Dalai Lama:
1. The Dalai Lama will return to Tibet as soon as China gives a green light
2. The Dalai Lama supports One China Policy, and wants to be inside China
3. The Dalai Lama confirmed again that His Holiness is not seeking independence from China.

----
China fooling citizens about my visit, Dalai Lama says

TAWANG: The Dalai Lama on Saturday hit out at China, accusing it of fooling its own people by spreading falsehood about his journey to Tawang, which the Communist country claims as its own.

Until now, the 82-year-old Tibetan leader had been mild in his reaction to Beijing's relentless criticism of his visit to this border town situated 47km south of the McMahon Line that separates India and Tibet.

"I wish one Chinese official were here to see what I'm doing and what I'm saying. The Chinese people, who are about 1.4 billion-strong, have every right to know the reality," he said, adding, "Once they know the reality, they will be able to judge... Until now, there has been only onesided, wrong information.

They (the Chinese government) are only fooling their people." He was speaking to the media after a three-hour discourse attended by about 20,000 people from Arunachal Pradesh, other states and neighbouring Bhutan.

On his return to Tibet, the Dalai Lama said, "As soon as China gives the green light, I will to return to Tibet. At the moment, the Chinese government is very negative because of some hardliner officials." "I've long forgiven China's Communist government for occupying Tibet.

But as long as problems in Tibet lie unsolved, Dalai Lama will remain a sensitive issue for China," he said. "Whether the Chinese government admits it or not, there are problems in Tibet. You (China) have to solve these problems for our common interest."

The Dalai Lama said, "There's a middle path approach to it (meaning autonomy for Tibet). China and Tibet have had a close relationship for thousands of years. We support One China policy and we want to be inside the People's Republic of China.

All we want is the right to preserve our culture, language and identity," he said. He added, "The whole world knows that I am not seeking independence of Tibet but China still repeats it."

"In the long run, India, China, Pakistan and even Japan and Afghanistan can form a union. Smaller unions can join bigger unions and can form one family with common interest...

I felt uncomfortable when Britain broke away from the European Union. In a union, there will be no war... the spirit of the European Union should start in Africa so it can end civil war and hunger. A similar union should start in Latin America too."

Meanwhile, Lhundup Chosang, a local RSS member has been campaigning for a Bharat Ratna for the Tibetan leader.

As a response to the above article, a writer, who is an Indian and a supporter of Tibetan independence, asked the Dalai Lama to clarify his recent statements that:
- The Dalai Lama has no issue with one China policy to ensure the economic benefit for Tibet, provided they preserve the right to preserve their culture and language in Tibet
- The Dalai Lama will return to China as soon as He got a green light from China
- The Dalai Lama is not seeking independence from China

The writer said that the Dalai Lama’s statements are surprising and have dismayed supporters of Tibet. He is appealing for clarifications of the above statements.

*“One China” policy should exclude Tibet*

By NS Venkataraman

In the wake of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh, China has conveyed its objection to India and has sharply criticised the visit of the Dalai Lama. However, India has ignored such protests from China, and the Dalai Lama’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh has taken place with dignity and amidst a warm reception from the people. The visit of the Dalai Lama to Arunachal Pradesh has been noted by the media all over the world, which has only angered China.

In his speech in Arunachal Pradesh, the Dalai Lama said clearly that the acts of repression employed by China in Tibet are similar to the atrocities committed by Pol Pot in Cambodia, when more than a million Cambodians were massacred in the 1970s. The Dalai Lama has also accused China of sending wrong information about his visit to Arunachal Pradesh. Further, the Dalai Lama has slammed China for making a bid to name his successor in Tibet. He further said that the Chinese people were being fed with wrong information about him, and that the totalitarianism in China has done great damage to the Chinese people who have every right to know the reality.

Millions of people around the world are convinced that Tibet has been wronged by China and justice must be done to the people of Tibet. The world conscience is clearly disturbed by the aggressive behaviour of China in Tibet and China is well aware of it, which has made China feel jittery. Tibetans living around the world are longing to go back to Tibet and live in Tibet, maintaining the traditional value systems that the Tibetans are associated with.

China is militarily and economically strong and many world governments think twice before antagonising China on any count, nevertheless the fact remains that the world knows that China’s position on Tibet is unjustifiable and unacceptable. The world opinion is bound to assert itself in one form or the other sooner or later that will make China quit Tibet. The history of the world has repeatedly revealed that truth and fair dealings alone triumph ultimately.

While world opinion is certainly in favour of a liberated and independent Tibet, the recent reported statement of the Dalai Lama that he has no issues with the “One China” policy, ensuring economic benefit to Tibet and providing the right to preserve their culture and language in Tibet, has surprised everyone.

This reported statement has sent a confusing signal amongst millions of supporters of Tibet all over the world, as to whether the Dalai Lama has accepted that Tibet would function under China as part of China. He was also reported to have said that he would return to China if China would show the green light. The reported statement of the Dalai Lama that the “whole world knows that I am not seeking independence of Tibet” has dismayed supporters of the Tibet.

I appeal to His Holiness the Dalai Lama to clarify his stand in the matter and confirm as to whether his statement has been misreported in the media.

Tibet has been an independent country for hundreds of years and was occupied by China by force. Many Tibetans including the Dalai Lama had to flee Tibet to protect their safety and stay alive to fight for Tibet.

Tibet being a part of China under “One China” policy is an unacceptable stand, as Tibet has all the claims to be an independent country following its own policies and programmes and beliefs. Tibet should never be a part of “one China policy”.
Tibetans across the world and supporters of Tibet’s cause are waiting eagerly to know whether the Dalai Lama really meant what he was reported to have said.

The evil dalie's visit to Tawang, which is part of China's Tibet occupied by India, essentially means open support to the dismemberment of Tibet perpetrated by his predecessor, the evil 13th dalie, in cahoots with his British puppet-masters.

Therefore, in order to counter the stigma of a traitor of his own people for supporting the dismemberment of his own homeland, the evil dalie talks about “union”, One China, Asian union, European, African and Latin American union. Just fluffy talk.

Of course the Indian ultra-nationalist writer pretends to ruffle his feathers, as the evil dalie's speech contradicts the writer's support to anti-China separatism. But he knows that the evil dalie's speech is just for occasional political expediency.

In other words nothing changes, and the current evil dalie will remain the separatist Western puppet he has always been, until his final departure to where he belongs, the garbage bin of history, where he will join his evil predecessors such as the 5th and 13th evil dalies.

Dear Matibhadra

Thank you for your comment. However, I would like to respectfully ask you to refrain from referring to the Dalai Lama in such a condescending manner. You may not like him and that is your right. However, let’s maintain a healthy discussion in this forum.

It is interesting that you are referring to the 13th Dalai Lama as an English puppet. To my knowledge, the 13th Dalai Lama was very favourable toward Russia and the Tsar Nicholas II due to the influence of his attendant and confidant, Agvan Dorjiev. This preference has angered the British and provoked them to launch an invasion of Tibet led by Colonel Younghusband. Only later in his life, the 13 Dalai Lama, widened his diplomatic relations to include Russia, Britain and other countries.

I do believe that the Dalai Lama is serious about his intention to only wish a meaningful autonomy from China because, at this point, the chance for Tibet to obtain independence from the powerful China is slim. We will know more about this as events unfold.

Dear Micaela, you say

I would like to respectfully ask you to refrain from referring to the Dalai Lama in such a condescending manner.

Please specify where and why you believe I have referred to the evil criminal dalie in a “condescending” manner, so that I may consider your request.

Indeed, a mere a blanket imputation of “condescendence”, without the support of facts and reasons not only is itself a pretty condescendent attitude, but also betrays a lack of good faith in conversation.

You may not like him and that is your right.

Actually I feel quite neutral about the evil criminal dalie, and I'm sorry that you mix subjective, personal feelings of liking an disliking to the current, objective discussion.

However, let’s maintain a healthy discussion in this forum.

Actually the discussion in this forum was quite healthy until you ruffled your feathers and start to accuse others of “condescendency” and to mix your personal feelings of liking and disliking to a purely objective topic.

Which, according to you, explains why the evil 13th dalie gave away South Tibet to Russia, right?

Quote

Never too late to become a British puppet. Or according to you one has to be a British puppet from birth, is it?

Unfortunately for you, the Chinese are not stupid enough to be deceived by the evil dalie's silly talk of “meaningful autonomy”.

Anyway, Tibetans already enjoys a high degree of administrative, cultural, and linguistic autonomy.

Sure. More of the same.

Michaela,

The state of confusion is what keeps the CTA still relevant and necessary. It is not to the Tibetan leaders' interest to clarify what truly is the 'Tibetan Cause'. The more the Tibetan people are divided and confused, the less the focus is on the CTA not doing their job.

After that, it was the Dalai Lama who gave the Tibetan people hope of independence fro 1959 to 1988. Then he announced at Strasbourg in 1988 that the Tibetan people have given up their fight for independence. Then he declared the Strasbourg Proposal (autonomy instead of independence) to be null and void. Thereafter between him and Lobsang Sangay, they sent out mixed messages - no quest for independence but its a sacred duty for all Tibetans to support self-immolation for independence.

What people are still not getting is all this is a ploy to keep the world guessing and continuing to pump money into a non-existing cause.

If the Dalai Lama supports the One China policy, then just dissolve the CTA, advice all Tibetans to cross the border and accept Chinese citizenship and stop insulting China. And while he is at that, retract his statements that Shugden people are traitors for being "pro-China" which is not true. The Shugden issue is a spiritual not political one. In any case, by the Dalai Lama's statement alone, all Tibetan people should support the One China policy otherwise you're anti-Dalai Lama isn't it?

Crossing the border, accepting Chinese citizenship, and stopping insulting China, irrespectively of or even against any evil dalie's advice, would be right thing for self-exiled Tibetans to do, and probably is what most will do as soon as the evil dalie triumphally assumes his deserved position in the garbage bin of history.

Of course some disgruntled ex-slave owners will always remain in their self-imposed exile, as they know that there is no place for them in a modern, free society as found in China's Tibet, but the absence of such poisonous elements is actually only positive for Tibetan society, which is much better off without them.

By the way, this whole hype about Tibet's independence or even autonomy is indecently overblown and politicized, among both non-Tibetans and Tibetans alike.

Indeed, those non-Tibetans among us who are Europeans should be more concerned with the oppression, lack of independency or even meaningful autonomy of Scots and Irish in UK; Catalans in Spain; Basques in Spain and France; Russians in Ukraine's Donbas, Estonia or Lithuania; Sami or Laponians in Scadinavia, and so forth.

Also, those non-Tibetans among us who are North, Central or South Americans should be more concerned with the oppression, lack of independency or even meaningful autonomy of American Native peoples, Blacks,  or Hawaiiians; Australians and New Zealanders with the oppression, lack of independency or even meaningful autonomy of Australian aboriginals, Maoris, and so forth.

In the same way, those non-Tibetans among us who are Jews, specially Zionist Jews with any citizenship, should be more concerned with the oppression, lack of independency or even meaningful autonomy of Palestinians, not to mention their wholesale genocide and imprisonment in open concentration camps, as perpetrated by the theocratic Jewish state, and so forth.

In other words, this whole story about Tibetan independence or autonomy is hardly the job of non-Tibetans, who should take care of their own backyard instead of playing the useful idiots, serving corrupt and corrupting Western agencies specialized in bringing about chaos and division to other countries in order to serve their bosses' greedy corporate and geopolitical interests.

Meanwhile, many self-exiled Tibetans should ashame themselves of playing the persecuted refugees just in order to sneak themselves into rich countries for their own personal benefit and comfort, all the while hypocritically claiming to be the greatest patriots, instead of going back to China's Tibet and working hard in order to bring development, peace and prosperity to their own country.

Indeed, such shameless Tibetans are not different from lslamic extremists bringing chaos and death to Syria, Iraq, or Afghanistan as CIA operatives, just in order to get a coveted green card or equivalent in US, Canada, or Europe for themselves and their families, while their people suffers genocide in their own hands and in the hands of their Western sponsors.

We as Shugdenpas should also ashame ourselves of getting involved in such dirty politics, and dedicate our time and efforts to discuss meaningful topics such as those conducive to liberation from evils such as the poisonous Western-Abrahamic attempts to corrupt and instrumentalize Buddhism in general, and the pure tradition of Je Tsongkhapa in special, and from pestilential politicians such as the evil dalie and his entourage of disgruntled ex-slave owners all to eager to regain power and again oppress the Tibetan people.

One week before this, His Holiness' Prime Minister Sangay said otherwise - independence!

"Sangay also reiterated long-standing demands that suppression of Tibetans in Tibet by China should end and that Tibet be granted independence."

After reading the article and the comments, it lets me think that, now CTA starts to against Dalai Lama will? Dalai Lama wants to go back to China and he doesn't want Tibet independent indeed is a good news. And it's a good news to Dorje Shugden ban. Looks like the ban is going to lift soon. But the condition that he mentioned sound a bit not relevant. As far as I know now Tibetan in Tibet life has improved. I think China's government just want it's people to "listen" to them just children listen to parents, but not go against the government. As long as they behave, I don't think China government will treat one of its state badly. Well, let's hope what Dalai Lama wish comes true, and hope Dalai Lama has conversation with China government soon. Then CTA gotta pack their staff and back off. Tibetan in India has been living in nightmare and suffering through the lead of CTA. And yet, all the so called "supporter" still hold on their grudge and irrelevant will.

(The Dalai Lama said, "There's a middle path approach to it (meaning autonomy for Tibet). China and Tibet have had a close relationship for thousands of years. We support One China policy and we want to be inside the People's Republic of China.)

The above statement by the Dalai Lama is strangely interesting. I wonder why the Dalai Lama is not adopting the same "middle path" for the practice of Dorje Shugden. The Dalai Lama and the CTA refused to meet Dorje Shugden representatives for a dialogue on this issue.  To meet and talk, discuss and find a "middle way" would be seen to be ethically and politically correct. The Tibetan leaderships asked of others for a "middle path" yet they do not adopt the same for their own people.

HH Dalai Lama first started with Tibet independence, then changed His tune to Tibet Autonomous. Looking at the situation, and all the big nations around the world, everyone supports the One China Policy. What can HH Dalai Lama do? With China growing stronger everyday, China is longer the poor nation 20 years ago which China is afraid of the western sanctions etc. Now China even has the power to pressure other nations to accept the One China Policy.

It appears that Sikyong Lobsang Sangay is refuting the Dalai Lama who has previously declared that he supports One China Policy: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/china-fooling-citizens-about-my-visit-dalai-lama-says/articleshow/58088347.cms

*Tibet was never a part of China, Sikyong told Chinese students*

Dharamshala — Tibet was never a part of China but Middle Way Approach remains a mutually acceptable solution of the issue of Tibet, said democratically elected Tibetan political leader, Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay who was on a two day tour to Australia from April 28.

With his message of non-violence freedom struggle for Tibet, Dr Lobsang Sangay, spoke about history of Tibet, Middle-way Appoach and other Tibet related issues to a group of Chinese students from China.

Dr Sangay arrived in in Brisbane, capital of Queensland, Australia on April 28 to begin his two-day tour of the country along with Representative Lhakpa Tshoko, according to the office of Tibet in Australia.

It said that Sikyong met students from Mainland China, interacted with them by exchanging views and thoughts about Tibet and China. Sikyong spoke about Tibet China relation, both past and present.

He explained them the reasons why Tibet was never a part of China, current situation in Tibet and gave them information about the Cultural Revolution when Tibet's sacred monasteries were demolished; sacred Buddhist literatures burned, captured monks and nuns and tortured them.

Sikyong also touched on China's policy on population transfer of Han Chinese; how they affected Tibetans to become secondary citizens in their own country.

Dr Sangay also spoke and explained the Middle Way Policy initiated by His Holiness that seeks genuine autonomy for the Tibetan people within the constitutional framework of China through meaningful dialogue.

Speaking to Tibetan community, Sikyong spoke on various issues relating to Tibetan struggle including the importance of unity and preserving the rich Tibetan language and culture as advised by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
