More leaders refuse to Meet the Dalai Lama
« on: September 01, 2017, 10:36:27 AM »
After receiving a warning from China, the Australian PM, Malcolm Turnbull's office confirmed that he would not be meeting the Tibetan spiritual leader during the Dalai Lama's visit to Australia later this year.

What is interesting in the following article is, Professor Wang Xiaobin, a member of the China-Tibetan Cultural Exchange Delegation visited Canberra on Wednesday, stated that China only violated the human rights of 5% Tibetan ruling class in an effort to protect the human rights of 95% Tibetan people. This is in response to Dr. Lobsang Sangay's various claims on China's human rights violation on his recent visit to Australia.

Australian PM has no plans to meet Dalai Lama as China warns

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s office has confirmed he has no plans to meet with the Dalai Lama.
It added he had never met with exiled Tibetan leader during his time as Prime Minister.
The China-Tibetan Cultural Exchange Delegation visited Canberra on Wednesday to promote the Tibet Autonomous Region and a dialogue with Australia.

The delegation included Tibetan people employed in the Chinese administration.

When asked whether any potential meeting between the Dalai Lama and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull would harm relations with China, one Chinese official said it would.

“He [the Dalai Lama] has been leading separatist activities against China since his exile so this is not acceptable to us,” Wang Yanwen of the State Council Information Office said.
“It would definitely damage our relations.”

The Dalai Lama was scheduled to visit Australia in 2017, on what would have been his 11th visit, but it was cancelled.
The Dalai Lama met then prime minister John Howard in 2007.

The State Council Information Office is one of the Chinese government’s chief sources of promoting China and its policy stances.
It said Australia should take an “impartial and objective and fair attitude” in deciding how it approaches the contentious issue of China-Tibet relations.

“I have confidence in the Australian government doing things that help to grow our ties rather than being misled and support[ing] activities that seek to separate China,” Ms Wang said.

“What we hope is to make real good friends with Australia, to help each other and deliver mutual benefits, rather than talking friendly on the surface while doing bad things behind each others’ back.”

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama fled his homeland in 1959 after the failed Tibetan Uprising. He has been living in exile ever since.
The Chinese Communist Party maintains Tibet has long been a part of China, while critics say the region is occupied.

Earlier this year, the chief executive of the Tibetan Government In-Exile, Lobsang Sangay, visited Australia and called for genuine Tibetan involvement in choosing the region’s rulers.

Tibetans confident poverty will be lifted

The delegation to Canberra included 55-year-old Pubu, a Tibetan man who is a senior member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in the Shannan Prefecture of the Tibet Autonomous Region.

“We set the goal of lifting everyone out of poverty by 2018,” Mr Pubu said.

“We have more than 2.6 million people under the coverage of publicly funded social programs.”
Multiple human rights groups have condemned China’s treatment of Tibetan people.

According to Human Rights Watch, Tibetans “continue to face routine denial of basic freedoms of speech, assembly, and movement”.

The US State Department last year described the human rights situation in Tibet as “poor”.
“The [Chinese] government engaged in the severe repression of Tibet’s unique religious, cultural, and linguistic heritage by, among other means, strictly curtailing the civil rights of the Tibetan population, including the freedoms of speech, religion, association, assembly, and movement,” it said.

But the delegation to Canberra told journalists China’s ruling party was making momentous efforts to protect the cultural and environmental heritage of the region.

“Tibetan culture, it’s far from being extinct. Quite on the contrary; it has been properly preserved and it has prospered,” Mr Pubu said.

“I think it’s undeniable that Tibetan culture is at its best time in history.”

Only 5 per cent have human rights violated: Chinese academic

Also a part of the delegation was China Tibetology Research Centre Professor Wang Xiaobin, who lived in Tibet for more than a decade.

Tibetans who followed the Dalai Lama had turned the region into a “feudal serfdom” under “autocratic rule” before the 1959 uprising, he said.

“The Communist Part of China only violates the human rights of the 5 per cent of people who rule the region and they do so to protect the human rights of the 95 per cent of the Tibetan people,” Professor Xioabin said.

“The Dalai Lama opposes such forces and movements. That’s the reason he chose to go into exile.”

Going around talking bad behind China doesn't make him (Lobsang Sangay) look like a wise man. On the other hand, that reflects he look more dumb as a "Prime Minister". Yet, he claimed China violate human rights while they (The Tibetan Leadership) ban on Dorje Shugden without any strong, firm, logic and make sense proof. Dorje Shugden is only one of the issues, what about Lukar Jam? Lukar Jam got discriminated, just because he said his friend should live longer, Dorje Shugden practitioners got segregated just because they practice Dorje Shugden that The Dalai Lama claimed will shorten his life. Not logic at all. And where is human rights in Tibet?
Looking at the situation now, more and more country that want to befriend China, will ban Dalai Lama. From politic point of view, fighting against China doesn't benefit their country. And, again, from the politic point of view, who is Dalai Lama? What will he bring with his visit to that country? Benefit or not, we don't know, but obviously, if the Australia Prime Minister meets The Dalai Lama, for sure will bring bad news to the country from China. Poor Dalai Lama at his age of 82 years old, still around the world but got denied entrance not even reach the door step of that country. I don't know how long CTA can sustain if they continue to be like that. But one thing for sure is, when China get stronger, more countries will boycott Dalai Lama, or CTA in a better way of saying.

There is no denying that Tibetans with their leaders have focussed on getting Tibet back yet what did they do to make it happens? Obviously going around on world tour and asking for money cannot solve the conflict with China. The accusations and bad communication have only increased the problem instead of lessening it. So the facts that the leaders of Tibet are not welcomed and not being met by the leaders of other countries is only the conclusion of this, unfortunately for the Tibetans.

Lobsang Sangay is always this fellow is wrong and this fellow has violated whatever rights. Does that means that whatever he do is 100% right and everyone supported him? Unfortunately, that is not the case. I think for the time being it is better for Lobsang Sangay to either lay low or do something to replace his wrongdoings otherwise I think he will be losing his administration soon. Good luck to him.

Well, no matter how generous anyone or any government is, no one likes to be taken advantage of.  And if after decades of asking for financial aid with nothing to show for, can you really blame the other leaderships for being wary or their reluctance?

Especially with the growing risk of aiding CTA, from potential negative economical repercussion (from China) to possible troubles from asylum seekers (at their soil) e.g. track record of self-emulation when such asylum seekers are dissatisfied with any of the government decisions http://www.dorjeshugden.com/all-articles/the-controversy/the-ctas-incompetence-claims-another-life/ or unhappy with development of Tibetan cause http://www.dorjeshugden.com/all-articles/guest-writers/tibet-burning/

After all, the other leaders owe Tibetans nothing and such leaders priority will always be the interest of their respective country and own citizens. More so when they are still fed the same old sob story of sordid state and helpless victimisation of Tibetans by CTA when leeching for more money or aids without anything tangible signs of progress.

From the viewpoint of the Tibetans in Exile and particularly the Tibetan Government  , it is alarming that country after country is turning their backs on the Dalai Lama, as they warm up to their relations with China, the world's increasingly huge super -powerhouse. But, if truth be told, it is time the CTA  ask themselves why they should be alarmed. If they had actually used the billions of US dollars given to them in aid over the course of the last 60 years well, all Tibetans in exile would by now be enjoying  decently comfortable lives, with good secure jobs and benefitting from adequate health and education facilities, with the Tibetan culture and religion well-preserved.

INstead, the average Tibetan in exile in India is experiencing  low living standards, with no access to adequate health and education facilities,  andscarce job opportunities .Tibetan Buddhism remains in tatters because the CTA has broken the back of Tibetan Buddhism by the ban on Dorje Shugden practice and creating schism among the Gelugs, as well as causing schools like the Drukpas to be in disarray.
Furthermore, there should have been remarkable progress made with peaceful negotiations with the Chinese Government for Autonomy for Tibet. This is what every Tibetan in Exile has been waiting for - to go home to Tibet. If the future for a return to Tibet is bleak, then help every Tibetan in Exile who is stateless ,to become Indian citizens.

The trouble is that the Tibetan government had NOT USED THE MONEY AS THEY SHOULD  HAVE DONE! The billions of dollars have disappeared, there being no check and balance system for the CTA! So what now, CTA, you cannot keep stretching out your hand for more money, without being accountable. What has happened to the billions of dollars?

For me, CTA is now running out of choices or do they really have choices anymore. More countries are trying to be on the good books of China and obviously one of the ways to show is barring themselves from granting meet ups with the Dalai Lama. Sad, he is real nice Lama but sadly is soon going to face global rejection.

There will be literally no more countries supporting CTA financially as 60 years of lies are enough! Sadly His Holiness has to be dragged into this. CTA is so corrupt and wastes so much money for their own comfort, never think of its' main role which is to take care of the Tibetans, not just reclaiming Tibet from China!

It is really quite sad and defeating when CTA clearly sabotages the work done by the Dalai Lama with their incompetence and self-serving agendas. This is clearly evident by the gradual loss of global support despite the hundreds of thousands of people which came to support the Tibetan cause due to the Dalai Lama’s painstaking successful efforts in bringing the issue of Tibet to the world. It is also apparent that after the Dalai Lama has passed the mantle to CTA, CTA has only failures and nothing to show for after decades of financial aid.

As such, it is just logical for the other countries to refuse to entertain the same old sob story of sordid state and helpless victimisation of Tibetans by CTA when leeching for more money or aids without anything tangible signs of progress. More so when supporting CTA will now translate to tangible economic detriments for them. Ultimately, the other leaders’ priority will always be the interest of their respective country and own citizens and rightfully so.

You all have it wrong.

The CTA are the PUPPETS of the Dalai Lama.

They work for him and all it would take is one word from the Dalai Lama against the CTA and they would all be FIRED.

The DL is the one and only power and the CTA are his SERVANTS.

You have all bought into the LIES that the CTA are stronger than the DL.

The DL uses the CTA as a buffer between him and the world.

The CTA secretly speaks for the DL and he can pretend not to be involved.

The CTA condemns China publicly on the secret orders of the Dalai Lama.

The Dalai Lama can stand back and pretend he has nothing to do with that.

When in fact he is the PUPPET MASTER AND THE CTA HIS PUPPETS.

If today the Dalai Lama would condemn the CTA and demand that they all resign,THEY WOULD.

THAT HOW POWERFUL THE DALAI LAMA IS.

BUT HE WON'T FIRE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE "HIS GOOD PUPPETS".

IF TOMORROW THE DALAI LAMA ENDED HIS BAN ON DORJE SHUGDEN DO YOU REALLY THINK THE CTA WOULD STILL CONTINUE THEIR BAN????

NO!!!!!!!!

The Chinese Government knows all this.

WHY DON'T YOU!!!!!!

It is such a shame that the CTA only continues to exploit the Dalai Lama!

This has as result that nobody wants to meet the Dalai Lama to avoid risk trouble with their Chinese relationships!!

When does the CTA finally wake up and start dialogue with China to make sure that Umaylam becomes reality!

Yes, indeed! Thanks to who? Thanks to CTA and their very smart Prime Minister Lobsang Sangay, who always use Dalai Lama as chicken who can lay golden eggs. Whatever they do, they put in the name of Dalai Lama. They used Dalai Lama's name to get money from the west. Karma ripen now, the leaders of the countries who contribute money to them are not stupid. Truth will unveil. Lobsang Sangay and CTA start shaking now. Bye CTA!

There is an excellent summary of this whole situation in a recent article I read here,

"For nearly 60 years the Dalai Lama cannot visit China/Tibet and all his policies, ideas and methods did not work. Dalai Lama traveled all over the west drumming up support for Tibet to gain independence and it has failed.

The western leaders and Japan all are not meeting His Holiness the Dalai Lama anymore as they want business with China. Business with China means billions being poured into their economies. The main concern of all governments is to improve the economies of their nations. Whether we like that or not is not the point. The countries banning the Dalai Lama are increasing. Ironically most of the Buddhist countries like Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Thailand have banned the Dalai Lama and he cannot visit. Maybe many people do not like the fact the Dalai Lama is losing support from governments but that is just the fact.

China is rising to become the number one economy and super-power of the world and this will continue till they surpass even the USA. Even the USA are clambering to make friends with China. This trend will increase. USA being friends with Tibet for the last 20-30 years was a feel good factor, but now it does not feel good anymore due to their heavy recession and economic slump. "

No way any country in the world would risk jeopardising their relationship with China ultimately. Every leader needs to care for their own country's welfare, not get involved with other countries' affairs. I guess Tibetans in exile are fighting not even a losing battle, there is no battle at all, it's clear China has won.
