Indians express the truth about the Dalai Lama and the Tibetans

I light of the current situation in India, whereby they have taken a turn to go full force in creating close ties and mending their relationship with China. The Tibetan leadership - CTA or Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetans are definitely being jolted to WAKE UP to their bleak reality as their internal affairs become more chaotic and their people divided even further. NEW DELHI – The first quarter of 2018 has not been a pleasant one for the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA; Tibetan leadership based in Dharamsala). Not only have they been repeatedly confronted with the truth that they are nothing more than pawns in other people’s political games, but the world is starting to realize who the CTA really are – a self-serving administration who have manipulated everyone into thinking they are long-suffering refugees to gain free financial aid which has only gone to line the pockets of those at the very top.

And so when it comes to the CTA, theirs has been a two-fold decline in recent times. Internally, they have been beset by scandal after self-made scandal; externally, the world continues to refuse tangible support for the so-called Tibetan cause, preferring instead to strike up a relationship with China.

Most worryingly for them however, is that the Tibetans are starting to lose Indian support. For 60 years, India has been the exiled Tibetan community’s biggest supporter. Their generosity began on the very first day of the Tibetans’ lives in exile, when His Holiness the Dalai Lama set foot in India and gained the promise of then-Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for Tibetans to occupy 27 tracts of land throughout India. Not only did they receive this land rent-free, but the Tibetans are not required to pay taxes for any of the donations they receive, amounting into the hundreds of millions. And while other countries have remained silent, India has often chosen to forego a better relationship with China in order to uphold the supposed moral imperative of supporting the Dalai Lama and his administration.

To the dismay of the Tibetan leadership, this is no longer the case and in the last few months, India has shown greater interest in fostering a more positive Sino-Indian relationship. It began with the appointment of Mr Vijay Gokhale to the position of Indian Foreign Secretary. Oh dear the Indian's are really really expressing themselves now. Tibetans should be polite and not fight or argue, instead be appreciative. They are in other people's land. If the Tibetans start to show arrogance and argue back, it may just irk India/Indian to kick all of them out prematurely before they even know it and before Nehru's promise to them expires. This will then surely affect all the poorer Tibetans who cannot afford to migrate.

I hope CTA will take the necessary steps to calm the Tibetans down, stop asking them to blame India and say nasty things and really face reality and realise they are truly walking on a thin line now. So they better realign themselves before it is major loss for everyone!

If the Tibetans choose to stay in India, they do have a choice to be the citizens of India. Why should they keep their refugee identity and be loyal to the CTA? There is no prestige in being Tibetan refugee. If their Tibetan identity is really precious to them, they can choose to go back to Tibet anytime.

Actually they should not be so picky. They do not have much of a choice, it is either go back to Tibet - China or become Indian citizens. And what is the issue with becoming Indian citizens? You get to have proper passports and get to travel anywhere in the world and be under real democracy instead of the fake CTA one.

If they wish to go back to Tibet, by all means go and stop complaining already because India will not bother any more especially since they need to mend their ties with China and this means, sorry Tibetans in exile, you either shut up living as refugees in India or get out and go back since His Holiness has already expressed he wants to go back. So all those who keep on protesting for a Free Tibet, they are in fact going against the Dalai Lama's wishes and plans.

It is obviously proving to be the case that it doesn’t make sense for India to continue to forego a better relationship with China in order to uphold the supposed moral imperative of supporting the Dalai Lama and his administration.

Further, after so many years of India supporting CTA due to goodwill and reverance to the 14th Dalai Lama which brought nothing positive to India, can you really blame India for such retraction of support? More so now when such support brings about much detriment internally and externally.

From the internal problems caused by CTA’s weak leadership of Tibetans for example the local Indians in Arunachal Pradesh protested against the state government’s preferential treatment towards the Tibetans, to local Indians  in Delhi setting fire to the Tibetan sweater market at Lal Qilla, enraged by the refugees undercutting prices and causing the Indian businesses to lose out etc, such internal conflicts impact the stability within India. Externally, it goes without saying that being on friendly terms with China translate to economic growth and benefits. India, owing allegiance and responsibilities first to its people, has no reason to jeopardise relationship with China for CTA who has been leeching of India and so many for so long.

The Tibetans may not like it, but there is some truth in what the Indians are saying. The Tibetans should really watch themselves and make a decision to assimilate and stay in India or just return to Tibet. It's about time they make the decision after close to 60 years.

Yes and all the westerners better who are being paid by the CTA to go against the Dalai Lama by calling themselves Rangzen activist should really stop jeopardising the Dalai Lama's wishes to go back to China's Tibet. Their protest is really a lost cause.
