Lobsang Sangay is such a big disgrace. What has he achieved ever since he became the Sikyong? First, the Tibetan Government In Exile was downgraded to Central Tibetan Administration; then from Prime Minister, Lobsang Sangay is downgraded to President.

There is much negative news about Lobsang Sangay. He misuses the fund and owes the Tibetans an answer; he is having an affair with Sharling Dhardon and he uses his power to give Sharling Dhardon a high position in the government; he sexually assaulted a female intern. These are just a few negative news of Lobsang Sangay, I believe there are many more.

It is good to know that some Tibetans are exercising their right. They gave the power to Lobsang Sangay, they also have the right to demand an answer from him. Unfortunately, Lobsang Sangay is running the CTA like his personal company, he refused to meet with the Tibetans to answer their questions. I hope one day many more Tibetans will join their forces and give pressure to Lobsang Sangay so that he will do what he is supposed to do as the leader of the community.

Lobsang Sangay should be brought to the court not only because he siphoned the money that was meant for the Tibetans but because he has indirectly murdered hundreds of lives. Lobsang Sangay encourages the Tibetans to self immolate so he can use the self-immolation cases to earn sympathy from the sponsors and get more money. He even allowed a guide book to self-immolation being published and circulated in the Tibetan community. He is pure evil!

Lobsang Sangay's crime is not limited to encouraging the Tibetans to self-immolate or siphoning the money, but he also had molested many women. He thinks he is the leader of the Tibetan community so he can get away with it easily.

This is just how the Tibetans work. The more power one has, the more hanky-panky thing they are able to do. Some Tibetan politicians or even monks like to use the Dalai Lama's name when they are confronted by the authority, hoping that they can get away with things.

Lobsang Sangay had molested not 1 but a few women. Because he is the leader in the Tibetan community, no one dares to confront him. Many women did not want to re-live the bad experience so they choose to remain in silent. If Lobsang Sangay does not change his attitude and behaviour, one day he will end up like Dagri Rinpoche.

Penpa Tsering sued the CTA and Lobsang Sangay to court and finally there is the verdict. The CTA has to apologise and paid the lawyer fees for Penpa Tsering. However, the CTA still argued that they have not done anything wrong and they are upset about the decision of the court. This is just so typical of the CTA, they never admit their mistake and it is always someone else's fault.

The CTA and Lobsang Sangay will never admit they are wrong, they will never apologise because they are extremely arrogant. China has become the most powerful country in the world and everyone wants to be her friend but the CTA continues to create troubles and go against China. What is the CTA trying to achieve? They know very well that they are not capable to manage millions of people, they know very well that Tibet will always be part of China, why not just go for the Middle way approach? Let Tibet become one of the autonomous regions of China. This is also what the Dalai Lama wants. The CTA has no consideration for the Tibetans, all they want are money and power.

CTA will not live under China. CTA knows that once they under the Chinese they will not abe to milk more money and they can never do their work in a legal way and for sure they will be caught by the Chinese. You will see that if the Tibetan or Dalai Lama return to Tibet, you will not see Sangay and some of the colony joining.  That is why the would rather go against Dalai Lama for their personal interest.

If the Chinese government agrees to reconcile with the CTA and allow the Tibetans to go back to China, I don't think the Chinese government will give the members of CTA any important role in the administration. They will dissolve the CTA because they will be redundant. Since the CTA has been so against the Chinese government, it will be a risk to continue to let the CTA has access to the Tibetans in China in case the CTA tries to influence the Tibetans to try to separate Tibet from China.

Well, they did not show up. And they have until yesterday and no news so far. Trouble in Tibetan exile community is brewing.

Looks like CTA is making trouble again and this time telling all exile Tibetan that they are above the law and basically, they don't have to follow the court's order. They are also making it clear that anyone can also disrespect the Tibetan court, and this is so if the Tibetan court allows them to step all over them.

This will definitely create more internal problems and could spark off to something bigger; the court and the people vs CTA? If the CTA does not respect its own court, then why should others and why is there a need for a court? So what constitution are they representing? This will only make matter worst for CTA as people will start voicing out more the injustice they witness and I am sure Penpa will not put this to rest. The change in the bigger picture is coming, thanks to CTA who loves to creates disharmony. Now they will get their karma back.

Kashag's lawyer fails to appear before Tibetan apex court

DHARAMSHALA, DEC 6: Sikyong-led Cabinet’s lawyer in the case no. 20 Lobsang Dakpa has failed to appear before the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission (TSJC) for a hearing concerning his remarks on the Court’s judgement as biased. Lobsang Dakpa was summoned to address the court on the charges against him by plaintiff Penpa Tsering.

The court had summoned Lobsang Dakpa by 2.30 pm but due his absence, the court was eventually adjourned at 2.55 pm. The court officials clarified that the lawyer was notified on Nov 22 via an email and a letter which were received by his Tibetan Legal Association office.

The announcement stressed that his office signed after receiving the letter from the court. The notice added, “but there wasn’t any acknowledgement from Lobsang Dakpa himself.”
Lobsang Dakpa during a press conference following the verdict had said that it was “not a fair judgment”. He further added, “The judgment was not based on facts. Confidential documents were nullified as well as documents related to Ganden Phodrang were all ignored and withdrawn.” He also showed his disapproval over the dismissal of Dhardon Sharling as a witness.

Plaintiff Penpa Tsering appealed to TSJC to take action against Lobsang Dakpa for his comments criticising the court’s judgment which falls under “Contempt of Court” in Civil Procedure Article 84.

The official notice announced a new hearing date which is to be held on Dec 9 at 10.30 am.

CTA is really trying to tell people that they are the King and no one can do anything to them. This example will not make people respect them and this should be in the news and press to tell the world that how they behave and all the money people donated are at this kind of people’s hands. Is the sponsor comfortable?

CTA is stupid with their behavior which not only challenging the court but also the Tibetan. This is not the time to show how gangster they are but to really live by example to gain respect and confidence in them to continue serving the Tibetan. The Tibetan will not just keep quiet and will definitely react to their rights and future. It's enough for the CTA to act hooligan. If CTA can't act as a true leader and responsible then it is time for a change.

It has begun... the exile Tibetan court vs CTA (?) Well, they are putting their foot down on this and will not allow CTA to push and bully their way in everything they do no more. Good on them!

CTA's lawyer got his license revoked for criticising the court's judgement on Penpa vs Sangay/CTA Case no 20. Some more need to offer khata to the Dalai Lama's throne and light butter lamps to apologise for not showing up in court when summoned on the 9th LOL ;D? This case is gonna haunt CTA for the rest of their short lives.

Lobsang Dakpa’s license revoked; declared a contemnor

The Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission revoked the license of the Tibetan Cabinet lawyer Lobsang Dakpa after he had criticised the court’s judgment of Case no 20 as biased on 14 October, and then failed to appear for a second time to a contempt hearing regarding his statements.

Dakpa failed to appear today at 10:30 am, and a court staffer announced at 10:45 am that since the defendant didn’t show up, the court would give a decision concerning the matter at 2 pm.

In a seven-page decision, the Tibetan court stated that Dakpa will not be able to practice in any Tibetan court, with immediate effect.

Additionally, the court declared him a contemnor, and ordered him to offer a khata (ceremonial Tibetan scarf) to the Dalai Lama’s throne at Tsuglakhang Temple in McLeod Ganj and to offer 100 butter lamps as signs of apology, both to be accomplished within 15 days.

In the order, the court has given a clarification to Dakpa’s charges, including why the confidential documents were withdrawn, and pointed out his failure in following the procedures to bring his witnesses.

The court concluded that Dakpa has infringed the law, bypassed the ethics of a lawyer and the responsibilities of a Tibetan as enshrined in the Charter, been inconsiderate to social harmony with his baseless accusation of the court’s decision, and has mocked the court’s procedure and its reputation, creating doubts as to the power and procedure of the court, blatantly inciting social disturbances, and damaging the democratic process of the exile Tibetans. WHAT'S NEW?

Dakpa didn’t have anything to say when Tibet Sun contacted him. “I do not have any comments as of now.”

Oh wow Dr. Sangay and gang has decided to apologise and agreed to pay Penpa's lawyer before they "lose their eligibility to run for office and their voting rights" as warned by the Supreme Court.

Should read some of the comments on this announcement. We will get to see how people truly feel about their bad government who seem to love creating disunity instead of unity amongst its people.

Shameful and sad but luckily there is still "some" hope, I hope. Like what a Tibetan in the comments section said... "Victory to rule of law.
Supremacy of Justice Commissions is very important for any normal society.
Justice Commissioners: utmost gratitude for protecting the institution and there by our nascent democracy.
Congratulations.

Fellow Tibetans: Love your nation. Elect right people to right office.

My respect to all the civil servants of our government, but not to political appointee playing partisan politics like North American Representative Ngodup Tsering always chasing photo opportunities or Australian Representative Lhakpa Tsoko stirring unnecessary trouble in community instead of playing the role of unifier."

Exile Tibetan Cabinet offers apology to Penpa Tsering in Case no 20

The Lobsang Sangay-led exile Tibetan Cabinet offered an apology to Penpa Tsering in Case no 20, accepting that their charges made to justify his ousting were regrettable.

Announcing the apology on the official website of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) in both Tibetan and English, the highest office of the exile Tibetans said: “The ten-point clarification issued by the Kashag on the replacement of Mr Penpa Tsering from the service of Representative to North America was based on unreliable sources and misunderstandings, thereby unintentionally defamed his dedication, competence, and character, and led to the spread of misinformation in the community.

“For this, the Kashag [the exile Cabinet] expresses its regret.”

The Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission, in its judgment on 14 October, had dictated the text of the apology, as well as ordered that the same be published in both Tibetan and English on all CTA information outlets.

The Cabinet failed to meet the first deadline to apologise, 13 November, after which Penpa Tsering appealed to the court to take congisance of that fact. On 22 November the court gave a new date of 27 December, *with a warning that Sangay and his colleagues would lose their eligibility to run for office and their voting rights if they failed to meet this deadline.*

The second part of the original court order stipulated that the Cabinet pay Penpa Tsering’s lawyer’s fees for this case, amounting to 98,000 rupees (1,400 USD approx). This payment was fulfilled by the Cabinet by the 13 November 2019 deadline.

Famously known as “Case no 20”, this was a defamation case against the Tibetan exile Cabinet filed by Penpa Tsering, the former Representative of the Dalai Lama in Washington DC in May 2018, and became a contentious issue within the Tibetan community.

Tsering had been relieved of his Washington post, and charged with dereliction of duty, insubordination, and deficit of trust. Following this, 10 points were given by the Cabinet to justify his ousting, which points the court found groundless in deciding this case.

Some interesting comments left behind by readers from the Tibetsun news...

Quote
Finally, Kashag under Lobsang Sangay bowed its head before the surmountable pressure, not from the judgment of the commission but from within its cabinet members, in order to save their future probable green pasture to feed in TIBETAN AILING politics.

It’s a complete victory of one’s own ego supported by the partisan nature of individuals, organisations, and representatives. Actually, there should be a strong urge to save the credentials and name of the Central Tibetan Administration’s Kashag amongst other things, but nobody cared about such name KASHAG in front of their personal gain and motives. This will have a great repercussion for the future, and has set an utter bad precedent in the history of the Tibetan government-in-exile.

Mr. Lobsang Sangay, instead of feeling relaxed and counting few months left of his tenure, should be working on how to save the name KASHAG and its portfolio for the future from all these attacking lots. At least not for himself or his cabinet this time but for the future.

I AM NOT A SUPPORTER OF LOBSANG SANGAY BUT I HATE TO SEE OR WITNESS WHAT OUR KASHAG AND ITS NAME HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO. What a shame!

Looks like there are still who thinks Penpa sucks. Well, I do admit he isn't a saint either and honestly I think the people needs a more level headed unbiased leader that does not discriminates anyone. Then we will see Tibetan united. Otherwise it will always be petty disagreements and remarks like this one...

Quote
There is absolutely no need to apologize, the court decision was based on the fear of being accused of being biased, and the court had no alternative but to find in favour of PT.

Penpa Tsering is a hypocrite, he gives speeches about Tibetans mustn’t migrate to the West, but he sent his wife and kids to make a fake asylum claim. The man is greedy, the family was living in the US but since they can’t get free social security in the US, they moved to Canada to claim free social security and live off the Canadian taxpayers.

Everyone will soon forget PT and let him disappear quietly.

Well, there is always two sides of the coin and definitely when it comes to this case and Penpa and Sangay are rivals and obviously have their regional issues mixed in. Well, this Tibet dude does have some embarrassing points but I must say I am glad more and more people are actually voicing out and speaking their minds without fearing a backlash.

At last, the insurgency is over! It looks like it has left a bad taste in the mouth after all the hue and cry of “injustice”. Never before in the history of Tibetan Kashag had its own subjects riling, abusing, and turning against it. When Mao asked the Tibetans to rise against the Government of Tibet in 1949, Tibetans treated it as a blasphemy. However, after losing our country to foreign occupation and living on foreign soil riding on the good will of the host but nothing else, some had the temerity to protest in front of the Kashag when it came to “defend” their self-interest. This is at a time when we are facing poor attendance of protesters on 10th of March. Without any consideration for the adverse effect it will naturally have on the movement, the vested interests, either driven by their ego or worse acting on the behest of foreign saboteurs.

The last year has been a self-destructing exercise that has no winners. Our unity has been severely damaged by the bad blood spilling in every facet of our existence. The vested interests left no stone unturned to demonise, discredit, and humiliate the Kashag and its leader. They inflamed the situation by incendiary accusations against the leader by unsavoury characters who sought to exploit it for their selfish purposes by driving a wedge between the Tibetans hailing from different parts of the country. HH The Dalai Lama has been in pains to tell Tibetans that “if you consider me your friend, never talk about cholka or Choeluk”. Unfortunately, the ragtag mob were tone deaf to such pleadings and instead used the cholka card to bludgeon their opponent and Kashag. They made a mockery of Kashag and ridiculed the members. We have to ask if these people have any loyalty to the Tibetan Government or agents of a foreign country?

This fella even dares to question their Justice Commission. I guess they have the right to Freedom of Speech though very silly and shoot himself on the foot. If he/she questions the justice then their justice system is as good as nothing. It's fishy to read such fishy comments... must be CTA's click don't wanna show they lost and in shame now. Quite childish and if this is the kind of mindsets they have, then it is no wonder they lost Tibet and never getting it back.  8)

From Jampa Dorjee:
I wonder from where this effectiveness of the Tibetan Justice Commission comes from now!? When the Parliamentarian Mr. Dawa Tsering didn’t comply with its judgment, and dragged the Justice Commissioners to Indian court, but again the judgment of the district court went in favor of the Justice Commission, why didn’t the Justice Commissioner showed such effectiveness character of issuing notices and contempt proceedings etc against Dawa Tsering THEN????

I find the present effectiveness of the Justice Commissioner so fishy and politically-motivated against this Kashag and its Cabinet.

And it’s so unfortunate to witness how people are misusing the system or the de-facto judicial system of exile governance, favoring an individual, putting the whole system at stake.

Here's a good one and I must say I do agree! Hopefully, we will see more fairness and more people like these speaking up logically and not using where they are from or what they worship as a petty tool to create a diversion which is exactly what the CTA has been trying to do for ages!

From Lobsang: Tibetan parliament in exile failed to held Kashag accountable for all the turmoils in our Tibetan community but Tibetan supreme justice commission saved the day. First two pillars of Tibetan democracy fared poorly but TSJC stood firm and shown the only way to Kashag. This is a great victory of democracy and truth. Say no to regionalism and communalism, it only serves the purpose of corrupt politicians and not anyone. Case number 20 has shown us how self serving bad politicians and leaders has made bad moves which never helped to bring freedom and right to self-determination of Tibetan people.
