No highly realised practitioners arise from this nunnery. They are a group of people who just do what is necessary to continue receiving support from the CTA. It is another nunnery exist to do prayers and leech off the CTA for monetary support.

This is appalling. It's not so much about taking money from the CTA, but nuns destroying Buddha images for political purpose? This imagery disgusts me - dragged their Dorje Shugden statue off their altar. They dragged it out of their nunnery and destroyed it by stomping and spitting on it.

:o

It's their hypocrisy that disgusts me. They take money from Shugden practitioners, all the while courting favors from the Tibetan leadership. They sit in their gompa all holy, all the while stomping on objects they previously venerated. Why is the Vajrayogini statue acceptable, but the Dorje Shugden statue not? What if the Dalai Lama decides to ban another practice or deity? Are they going to stomp on that statue too? Fools.

Statues can be repaired. People's loss of faith in the sangha cannot.

The CTA themselves are hypocrites, what to expect from the people who are following them? It is not unusual that the anti-Shugden people have no principle and will take what they want. They also have a double standard, Gaden Choeling Nunnery is just one of the examples.

In Gaden, Sera and Drepung monasteries in India, many facilities they have are donated by Dorje Shugden Lamas. When the monasteries expelled Dorje Shugden lamas, they did not return the items the Dorje Shugden Lamas donated. Another good example is FPMT. They try to make themselves clean by giving up Dorje Shugden practice but they are keeping the center and the land even though these things are inherited from Lama Yeshe who was a Dorje Shugden practitioner.

People who give up a practice that was given by their teachers and just want to be politically right are not real practitioners. A real practitioner will follow his/her guru's instruction regardless of the situation. People in Geden Choeling Nunnery and FPMT cannot gain much realisations as they have lost the blessings from their teacher the minute they gave up a practice that was given by their teachers.

It's so strange how karma strikes. These nuns obviously needed the merits of the Buddhas and their vows for their practice and yet karma's hold is so strong that they dig a deeper hole for themselves by their actions. Now, no matter how they may practice, there are no results due to that destruction of such holy statue of Dorje Shugden with its sacred contents. Such a shame that a Jewel we are supposed to be able to rely on and take refuge in, behaves in such a way. Reducing the sacred intent of Buddha Sakyamuni into basal living under the guise of "nuns". I do hope they realize their mistake and repent with sincerity so that they may progress in their spiritual path. It takes such merit to be even in robes and I do hope they appreciate this fact, to maximize the benefits from their sincere practices.

The Dorje Shugden ban really shows who are the real practitioners and who are the fake practitioners. This is clearly a case of a fake practitioner. They chant mantras and sing prayers to the Buddha everyday in their gompa acting all holy but when the time to test their spiritual progress, the results are easy to tell. It is okay for them to choose to follow His Holiness the Dalai Lama but why do they have to remove the Dorje Shugden statue that they prayed to every day and night with such rude and barbaric ways?

They could have just remove it from their gompa respectfully and give it to someone else or donate it to Dorje Shugden practitioners. There is no need for them to go full ballistic and destroyed the statue. They even sit and spit on the statue. Is that the way of a nun should behave? Okay, maybe the statue itself is not what they like but what about all the mantras and holy items inside the statue?

I do not believe that they only inserted Dorje Shugden items in the statue. What about the mantras or other Buddhas? Holy relics of high lamas? Holy items of high lamas? They desecrate all of those together. Imagine how much of negative karma they are collecting. I could not believe it. True dharma practitioners will not perform actions as ignorant as this.

It is very bad of the nuns to destroy the statue and to abandon the practice given by the teacher. As a Vajrayana Buddhism practitioners, we should never give up the practice given by our teacher. All attainment comes from our teacher, it is said in the 50 Stanzas of Guru Devotion.

We have to keep our promise and commitment to our teacher even if he is not around anymore. Our relationship with him is not just for one life but for many lives to come. His promise to us is the guidance he will give us until we are enlightened.

The nuns are a very bad example of how a student should be. The Dalai Lama is not their teacher, they don't have to follow what the Dalai Lama said but because they want to be in the good book and want to save themselves from troubles, they choose to abandon their teachers. This is considered a broken Samaya. They will not any attainment that is for sure.

Why Gaden Choeling Nunnery being selective? If Dorje Shugden is bad and they need to be destroy the statue then they should do the same for Dorje Neljorma since it's given by Dorje Shugden practitioners too. What type of mind set they have? It's OK to keep Dorje Neljorma but not Dorje Shugden even it's given by Dorje hat case, the nun and teh nunnery Shugden practitioners. So in this the nunnery is ok to take anything from Dorje Shugden except for DA statue. This is hypocrite. They can be selective to what benefit them and this is not right. And no logical basis to support their act. If they really want to go all they way on the Dalai Dalai Lama instruction, the nunnery should not accept anything from Dorje Shugden practitioners. Don't make people see it like using Dorje Shugden practitioners.

This shows you how 'advance' these nuns are in their practice. What they are doing is out of greed. Their basis for a decision is whether they will get any benefit. They decided to throw the Dorje Shugden statue away because they want to be in the Dalai Lama's good book. They kept the Vajrayogini statue because they need it for the practice even though it was gifted to them by a Dorje Shugden practitioner.

There is no consistency in the things anti-Dorje Shugden people do. They claim Dorje Shugden practitioners are polluting the lineage, therefore no one should befriend them. If this is the case, why keeping things that are donated by Dorje Shugden practitioners? Most of the monasteries in India are established by Dorje Shugden practitioners, why are anti-Dorje Shugden Sanghas still occupy and use these buildings? Won't this pollute the teachings or their mind?

The nuns should not have abandoned the practice that was given to them by their guru. If they trusted their guru, they would know their guru would not give them a practice that harms them. Even though their guru is not around anymore, they should keep the practice no matter what happen.

It is disappointing to see Sanghas abandoned their guru to be in the good book of the Dalai Lama. As Sanghas, they should know what guru devotion is. All attainment comes from our guru, how can they gain any realisation if they go against the instruction of their guru?

As a Dharma student, we have to always follow the instruction of our guru, not a monk who is more famous or powerful than our guru. We have to respect people who are different from us.

It is just like FPMT who announced to the world that they do not practice Dorje Shugden anymore. They consider Dorje Shugden practice like a demon practice and they will have nothing to do with Dorje Shugden practitioner as they "bad" people. However, the founder of FPMT, Lama Yeshe is a famous Dorje Shugden practitioner.

Even after they have stopped Dorje Shugden practice, they still kept their founder's statue in their centres. Why are they still praying to a statue of a demon worshipper? It does not make any sense. If they really want to be serious, they should remove all Lama Yeshe's statues from their centre and start their own lineage. It is not logical to reject a small part of their lineage and accept the rest.

Nothing is ever logical with FPMT. They stopped being logical when they started to abandon their Guru and Dorje Shugden practice and went along the bandwagon of discriminating and condemning other Shugden Gurus and practitioners.

Lama Zopa never asked them to do that, but to not be judgemental and critical of others who choose to keep their practice. But obviously his advices are being taken selectively. So when Lama Zopa I can only imagine that FPMT will degenerate further to a money-making institute without any real authentic teachings/blessings.

Indeed it is hypocritical of them to have Lama Yeshe's statue there and praying to it.

FPMT just wants to be politically correct so they will not have problems raising fund and maintaining their centres. They probably are worried that if they keep Dorje Shugden practice, they will lose many of their sponsors who are pro-Dalai Lama.

Lama Zopa may not have advised people to abandon the practice but since he has given up the practice, the students will follow. It makes people feel like Lama Zopa is fickle on the Dorje Shugden controversy. Sometimes he said we should follow the instruction of our teacher, sometimes he said we should listen to the Dalai Lama. This is very confusing, what do we do?

It is just sad that FPMT was established by a strong Dorje Shugden lama, Lama Yeshe who had rely on Dorje Shugden for his Dharma work. The manifestation of FPMT was also through the help of Dorje Shugden and then FPMT abandoned and condemned Dorje Shugden when Dorje Shugden ban was imposed.

This is what happens when they just follow and didn't even think over it. Whether they want to continue to practice or not is depend on the spiritual commitment with their Guru. For whatever reason, they stop any practices it should be done in a very respectful manner. In our spiritual practices, we should be respectful to all being and in this case why not to Dorje Shugden even if they think he is a spirit? The action of the nuns really reflects their practices and this is not good.

Yes, even if they decided to give up the practice, they don't have to throw away the Dorje Shugden statue just to show people how much they despise the practice. They also didn't realise by them selectively keeping thing that they wanted to regardless if the sponsor is Dorje Shugden followers, it shows how greedy they are.

It is sad that the Dorje Shugden ban has created so much conflict and disharmony within the Buddhist community. But it also let us learn about what guru devotion is and how the relationship between and teacher and a student is.

Many people are harmed and affected by the ban, but hopefully there are more people who really learn what Buddhism is from this controversy.
