The CTA loves to carry news on its official website about religious persecution and how it should stop. I will not go into a debate about political affairs but if the CTA is really adamant that it embraces religious freedom and all, it should take now all the discriminatory and indefensible rubbish is publishes on its website about enlightened protector Dorje Shugden.

Calling for an end to religious persecution while fanning it makes the CTA look absolutely schizophrenic.

UN chief urges world to stamp out religious persecution

UPDATED: AUGUST 22, 2019 AT 7:16 PM

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged the world on the first international day to remember the victims of religious persecution to “step up to stamp out anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim hatred, the persecution of Christians and other religious groups.”

The U.N. chief on Thursday cited a rise in attacks against individuals and groups around the world, saying: “Jews have been murdered in synagogues, their gravestones defaced with swastikas; Muslims gunned down in mosques, their religious sites vandalized; Christians killed at prayer, their churches torched.”

Guterres said the first International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion and Belief was an opportunity to show support by doing “all in our power to prevent such attacks and demanding that those responsible are held accountable.”

He urged people everywhere to resist and reject those who “falsely and maliciously invoke religion to build misconceptions, fuel division and spread fear and hatred.”

Fifteen U.N. human rights experts marked the day with a call on all countries to ensure that religions and beliefs are not used to violate human rights — and to combat religious extremism.

The independent experts appointed by the U.N. Human Rights Council said in a joint statement that “the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion or belief is misunderstood as protecting religions and belief instead of the people with the beliefs and those without.”

The experts, on issues ranging from freedom of religion to minorities to violence against women, emphasized the words of the General Assembly resolution sponsored by Poland and adopted in June that established the international day on Aug. 22. It said that “terrorism and violent extremism in all its forms and manifestations cannot and should not be associated with any religion, nationality, civilization or ethnic group.”

At an informal U.N. Security Council meeting marking the day, U.N. human rights chief Michelle Bachelet said by video from Geneva that “despite much progress, I am deeply alarmed by the worldwide rise of xenophobia, racism, religious intolerance that is menacing to our lives” as well as to democracy, social instability and peace.

“If we can’t accept diversity … there shall be no peace in the world,” she said.

Bachelet said a key to trying to combat religious persecution is to look for “early warning signs” like discrimination and words of intolerance and take early action.

Samuel Brownback, the U.S. ambassador at large for religious freedom, told the council that according to the Pew Forum, “83% of the global community live in countries with high or very high restrictions on the free practice of faith — and it’s getting worse, not better.”

He pointed to “the horrific actions of violence and ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims” in Myanmar, persecution of religious minorities in Pakistan “either at the hands of non-state actors or through discriminatory laws and policies,” Boko Haram’s attacks on mosques and churches in Nigeria, and the Islamic State extremist group’s targeting of Iraq’s Yazidis, Christians and Shiite Turkmen “for atrocity crimes.”

Brownback said the United States is “deeply concerned” about China’s “escalating, widespread and undue restrictions” on religious groups, including Uighurs, Kazakhs and other Muslims, Tibetan Buddhists, Catholics, Protestants and Falun Gong.

“We call on the Chinese government to end its war on faith and to respect religious freedom for all,” he said.

The United States also strongly opposes Iran’s “severe violations and abuses of religious freedom,” including the death penalty for blasphemy, apostasy from Islam and proselytizing Muslims, and discrimination and harassment of unrecognized minorities such as the Bahai’is and Christian converts.

British Minister of State Lord Tariq Ahmad, a special envoy on religious freedom, said religious minorities face challenges ranging from discrimination to armed conflicts, mass murders and violent assaults.

“The heinous attacks this year on places of worship from the Philippines to Burkino Faso, New Zealand to Sri Lanka, have reminded us all that the fundamental human right of freedom of religion or belief is increasingly under threat,” he told the council. “As we commemorate the victims of such acts of violence, we demonstrate our commitment to supporting research to change people’s lives and help build a world free of religious intolerance and hatred.”

The CTA is a big hypocrite and they always have a double standard to everything. They complain about being suppressed and not given religious freedom. They complain about being treated unfairly.

But look at how CTA is suppressing Dorje Shugden practitioners, they are also taking away religious freedom from these people. Why is that they can do this to their own people? Why is that when other people do this to them, they complain about it?

If CTA feels so much victimised by the Chinese government, they should stop what they are doing to Dorje Shugden practitioners. It is time for them to do the right things, and things that are beneficial to Tibetans. No one should be treated unfairly.

Why is CTA always calling for China to stop doing something? Why don't they solve their internal problem first? Why don't they lift the Dorje Shugden ban and give the religious freedom to Dorje Shugden followers?

CTA is a democratic government but the way they segregate Dorje Shugden practitioners is not acceptable. A real democratic government will not segregate its people by what they believe, they give everyone the same right. No one will be penalised by their belief in a democratic system.

Instead of spending time to talk only, they should do something that can give results to change their image. As China is getting stronger and more countries are cutting their ties with the CTA, CTA should not be hostile with China anymore. Do what the Dalai Lama wants, the Middle Way approach, this will benefit Tibetans.

CTA keeps telling the world that they are democratic. If so why ban Dorje Shugden practice and discriminate Dorje Shugden practitioners? Why CTA openly prosecute their own Tibetan just because they have their own preference for spiritual practice? CTA doesn't practice democracy but just lying to the world to look good.

A democratic government will respect differences and encourage peace and harmony. CTA failed to be a democracy and U.N. Human Rights Council should look into this seriously and do something about it. The ban has created so much suffering and it should be stopped already.

Now you know CTA is a hypocrite. They tell people they are a democratic government but they are not. Whoever is against them, they will make their lives difficult. Dorje Shugden ban is a very good example. They segregate Dorje Shugden followers and take away their basic right as a member of the Tibetan in exile community.

At the same time, they condemn China for not giving religious freedom to the Tibetans. If the Dalai Lama has genuinely changed his stance on the Tibet issue and CTA really cooperate with the Chine government, Tibetans will be allowed to follow the Dalai Lama. Dalai Lama will be allowed to go back to Tibet.

Unfortunately, the CTA loves free money more than anything else. They will not follow what the Dalai Lama wants and they don't put the future of Tibetans as their priority. This is the fact, we just have to accept it.

The CTA once said they can teach China what democracy is, is this the value the CTA can give to China? The Chinese government does not need the CTA to give them a lesson on democracy system. China is doing very well with the communist system, their economy is flying, what makes the CTA think China has the need to change its system? In contrary, the CTA is not doing well under the democratic system, should the CTA consider to implement the communist system? If it is not the issue with the system, then it must be the people who implement it. This means the democratic system has no problem, the problem is with the CTA. They are inefficient and they don't know how to manage.

I think the Dalai Lama knows CTA is hopeless and this is why he is considering not returning. He has said many times that he will see whether another Dalai Lama is needed in the future because times have changed. Perhaps this is how the Dorje Shugden ban will end as well... no Dalai Lama, no CTA and no ban.
Up until now how have CTA helped the Dalai Lama's goal to return to China? Instead, he makes things worse and the relationship even more distance.

The Dalai Lama definitely knows the CTA is hopeless and cannot be relied on. That is why the Dalai Lama secretly sent Samdhong Rinpoche to China to meet with the Chinese officials. The Dalai Lama also has advised the Tibetans not once but several times that it is better to go back to China because the future in China is much better than in India. If the CTA is reliable, the Dalai Lama would not have sent Samdhong Rinpoche to go to China for negotiation at his personal capacity.
