Thanks WB & HR -
The words, "What goes around, comes around" does ring so true, isn't it?
I love what HR wrote about the Wheel of Sharp Weapons being something like a "boomerang".
What we throw out at others, will come back to bite us!
I like the two questions posted by HR -
After learning the Dharma, there should be a shift in the way we act, think and speak. If there is no shift, then how has the Dharma we learnt changed us or benefited us? We cannot remain the same after studying the Dharma and after following a Guru after sometime. It just does not seem quite right.
Although many will argue that we didn't do anything to deserve the sufferings that we are receiving in this lifetime, but can we be so sure that we have not done anything in our past lives that led us to the karma of being in the situation we are in now?
There must be a cause from somewhere, even if it is prior to this lifetime. Hence, we are experiencing the effects now.
Hence, the term - "karma ripens".
And we will not know when our good or bad karma will ripen.
Hence if we want to have good karma ripening on us in the future, then we will have to sow the causes for them to sprout NOW. Nothing can materialize if we do nothing.
Something to think about.
