Dharma Protectors

Also known as Dharmapalas, are special beings that emanate to protect the authentic Dharma. They do this by clearing obstacles and providing conducive conditions for Buddhist traditions to propagate and grow.

Some Dharmapalas are Buddhas and bodhisattvas appearing in worldly form, whilst others are spirits who have been subdued by compassionate lamas, and bound by vows to assist practitioners.

As emanations of Manjushri, protectors like Kalarupa and Dorje Shugden belong to the first class of Dharmapalas who are enlightened beings appearing in the guise of worldly protectors. Thus to invoke their blessings, is to invoke the assistance and blessings of an enlightened being.

admin: It is really uplifting to have this website and forum as a platform + one stop kiosk for Dorje Shugden EVERYTHING. I just thought we really need to ground ourselves and come together from all walks of life with ONE COMMON GOAL

LOVE SHUGDEN (He is just so cool and alive)
LOVE ALL LAMAS (Without them, there won't be Buddhism today)
HEAL THE WORLD (With the above two blessing us, I'm sure we can do good in healing the pains of others)

admin: It is definitely ok to introduce Shugden to everyone immediately. Shugden's whole body is representative of the paths and stages to full enlightenment. Every part of Shugden is a facet of enlightenment. Therefore viewing, thinking, meditating or contemplating even for a short time will plant the seeds of awakening within the viewer's mindstream.

When anyone worships Shugden, he may grant your immediate pleas for help, but ultimately and eventually Shugden will lead you to a lama, lineage and pure Buddha Dharma. It doesn't matter what lineage you find, but Shugden will lead you there. Shugden should no longer be considered a protector of just Je Rinpoche's lineage, but a world peace protector as Gangchen Rinpoche mentions many times.

So for those in difficult situations or trades that might be 'shady', all the more we should introduce Shugden to them from compassion. When people are in dire straits, addicted to intoxicants, engaged in vice, or simply desperate, they don't have the right frame of mind to listen to Lam Rim and all the beautiful teachings yet. If there's a man in a burning house, ask Shugden for help to rescue him first then introduce Lam Rim and et al when he is safe & comfortable later. Eventually Shugden will lead them to Buddha Dharma whether now or a future time. That is Shugden's vow and why he arose as a Dharma protector due to the kindness of Desi Sangye Gyatso.

He is a most qualified teacher from Serpom and is Serpom Monastery’s first and current abbot. Here he is making his first visit to Shar Gaden Monastery to confer the novice monk vows on the Kyabje Domo Geshe Choktrul Rinpoche. He is recieved with the highest honors and respects as accorded to such a great master such as himself.

admin: It is very interesting His Holiness the Dalai Lama a monk, scholar, erudite master and a very down to earth and logical person also consults ancient oracles for his decision making.

The first deity he consults through the oracle is Nechung, who is known to be an unenlightened being. This is very fascinating also. You can read about the wordly spirit Nechung here and see video: http://dorjeshugden.com/wp/?p=5609

If Dalai Lama is to ban deities entering oracles to speak as in the case of Dorje Shugden, how come Nechung is allowed to enter a Oracle to speak. And also Dalai Lama himself is consulting the spirit Nechung via the oracle in his private quarters as in the video? I am not looking to find fault with Dalai Lama or asking for criticism, but was wondering why two rules? Or two standards? His Holiness Dalai Lama asks us to trust Lord Buddha and not go into ‘spirit worship’ or get involved with spirits. What is happening here?

Any answers to this anyone?

admin: Petition to the Dalai Lama
To the Dalai Lama of Tibet,
We the undersigned ask you to accomplish the following four things:

1. To give freedom to practise Dorje Shugden to whoever wishes to rely upon this Deity.
2. To stop completely the discrimination between Shugden people and non-Shugden practitioners.
3. To allow all Shugden monks and nuns who have been expelled from their monasteries and nunneries to return to their monasteries and nunneries where they should receive the same material and spiritual rights as the non-Shugden practitioners
4. To tell the Tibetan community throughout the world in writing that they should practically apply the above three points.

It seems like a good petition to sign. If you are interested as I am, please go to this link:

admin: Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche (born October 15, 1982) is considered the current reincarnation of the Trijang Rinpoche, who was the junior tutor and spiritual guide of the 14th Dalai Lama.

Continue the legacy- Trijang Chocktrul spent much of his early life at Rabten Choeling in Switzerland, and has spent most of his adult life in Northfield, Vermont, where he founded the Trijang Buddhist Institute, to promote the spread of Tibetan Buddhism. Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche's "foremost desire is to continue the legacy of his revered predecessor, Kyabje Trijang Dorje Chang" (Trijang Rinpoche).

Re: Dorje Shugden- When he was a youth, he received death threats from the ‘Secret Society of External and Internal Enemy Eliminators’ for his practice of Dorje Shugden, which forced him to stop his traditional studies in India and go to Western Europe.

In their meeting in Graz, Austria, in 2003, the Dalai Lama told Trijang Rinpoche: "If you give up this deity, myself and all Tibetan people will appreciate it very much and our protector Nechung will take care of you and make you more successful and famous than ever. If you do not give up this deity, then your monastic career, like receiving the full monk’s ordination and taking Geshe examinations will not be possible. So I leave it to your judgement."

Lama Zopa of the FPMT has expressed great sadness that the Guru of both the Dalai Lama and Lama Yeshe (the founder of the FPMT) felt it necessary to take this step: The incarnation of Kyabje Dorje Chang, His Holiness Trijang Rinpoche, is His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s guru and the lama of all the Tibetan people, so it’s terrible if he’s hidden away in some corner as if there’s something wrong with him. That’s absolutely shameful. Therefore, the people around him have to think very extensively. In his previous life he performed incredibly holy actions; therefore, his present incarnation has the potential to spread Dharma in both the East and the West like the rising sun spreads light.

admin: In a suprising yet welcomed move, the most erudite and senior Gyudmed Kensur Sonam Gyeltsen writes a letter to all the Gelug Monasteries and Tibetan Govt against the Shugden ban. He is outspoken, courageous and fearless. A great master and Abbot of debate, logic, philosophy openly says he WILL NOT CUT OFF from Dorje Shugden nor practitioners and states why clearly. Surely someone of his seniority, calibre, learning, practice and attainments could not be praying to what some others like to call a spirit?

He resembles His Holiness Gaden Trisur Rinpoche and Samdhong Rinpoche who choose to continue their practice along with millions of others in Tibet and outside of Tibet.

Gyudmed Kensur Sonam Gyeltsen is from Gaden Jangtze Monastery and chosen by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to be the abbot of Gyudmed Tantric College which he successfully served as Abbot.

See his clear and decisive letter against the Dorje Shugden ban: http://dorjeshugden.com/wp/?p=9775

admin: Whatever the former Tibetan Govt in Exile was doing is apparently not enough and ineffective or else they would not have been forced to downgrade their name by the Indian Federal Government to CENTRAL TIBETAN ADMINISTRATION. From losing Tibet in 1959 to Tibetan Govt in Exile now demeaned to Tibetan Central Administration. Obviously this group of people who run the show are not doing a good job.

I mean think about it. How did the Tibetan Govt lose their sovereign country in the first place? Mismanagement, corruption of the highest degree, lack of education, lack of exposure to the world outside of Tibet, laziness, pettiness, religious schisms, sectarianism or what? Or all of the above? What sovereign nation would lose their nation to another? And not be able to get it back? The speaks volumes for the former Tibetan Govt doesn't it?

This type of so called Govt or now CTA is bound to create so much more trouble for themselves such as they have been doing with the Shugden, two Panchen, three Karmapa issues.

admin: It is very exciting to think of Samdhong Rinpoche taking up his Shugden practice again. Anything is possible. HH Dalai Lama allows the current incarnation of Trijang Rinpoche to continue his practice of Dorje Shugden. So if Trijang Rinpoche is allowed, why not others more and more as time goes on.
(from the forum)

admin: Has anyone heard the surprising and good news that after retiring from office Ven Samdhong Rinpoche has re-started his Shugden practice. Before taking office he practiced Shugden for over 40 years. He did all the work for the former Tibetan Govt in Exile only on the basis of following Trijang Rinpoche's instructions. Trijang Rinpoche is his root teacher. He didn't work for the Dalai Lama and former Tibetan Govt for them but to follow his teacher's instructions to serve them.

In order for Samdhong Rinpoche's work with Dalai Lama to be possible for the last ten years as Kalong Tripa, he had to 'abandon' his Shugden practice. But now that he has retired, he has started again.

Many lamas both senior and younger are practicing Dorje Shugden secretly and always have been. How can anyone abandon the practice they recieved from HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and root gurus? Real practitioners cannot abandon their practices under any political pressures or abandon their teachers. They just go underground. The trend is so that you just do your practice quietly for now. HH Dalai Lama has a few years left sorry to say, after his passing, the practice will re-emerge stronger and bigger with the advent of internet. Even young spiritual leaders like both Karmapas (the one born in Tibet and the other from Delhi) make no mention of Shugden ever. Even the previous Karmapa never mentioned anything against Shugden. It is the sign of the times. You practice quietly for now due to political pressures and when the time comes, you openly practice. This time will come for sure.

A friend of mind text me this message that Samdhong Rinpoche has taken up his Shugden practice again after reading it on phayul.com's forum.

I guess he is following in the footsteps of Gaden Trisur Lungrik Namgayl who after retiring as Gaden Tripa joined Shar Gaden. Until now HH Dalai Lama has not mentioned or commented on Gaden Trisur for this act. HH Dalai Lama has been quiet. Gaden Trisur is one of the highest ranking lamas of the Gelug School and strong practitioner of Shugden. Gaden Trisur is such a powerful example of learning, practice and guru devotion.

admin: Scroll down to the bottom of this homepage to read some 'interesting' views against Dorje Shugden from dalailama.com's website. This website has a section devoted to Shugden which is very inappropriate for a religious leader of HH Dalai Lama's stature. HH Dalai Lama speaks of religious tolerance and peace, we find this contrary to those ideals. We have refuted the information written. They are misleading and create fear/bias. Please study through the articles and debates included.

Removing Curses and Negativity Removing Curses and Negativity

Why is Nechung Allowed but Not Dorje Shugden?

Nechung is a worldly spirit of the Gyalpo class, most likey from Persia, who tried to block the coming of Buddhism into Tibet, and finally Guru Rinpoche has to wrathfully oath-bound him.

This video clearly demonstrates the contradictions Tibetan Govt overtly exhibits.

They worship Nechung the spirit yet Dorje Shugden's practice is suppresseed as they claim he is a spirit.

They ask you not to seek advice of spirits as it damages one's refuge vows, yet they are seeking advice.

They ask you not to pray to spirits, yet they set up Nechung's chapel right along the lingkor where hundreds of people religiously circumambulate daily.

There's one policy for them and another for Shugden practitioners.

They put up letters to ban Shugden practitioners yet they promote Nechung the spirit to the lay people.

Why is it they may worship spirits, but we may not worship Dorje Shugden which they have wrongly labeled a spirit?

How can Nechung who has limited clairvoyance advise Dalai Lama to ban Shugden?

How can Nechung with his limited powers as a spirit have the abilities to see the level of Shugden? Why does the Dalai Lama need Nechung's advice at all?

Trijang Rinpoche clearly states Shugden is Manjushri. Yet Nechung says Shugden is not. Who do we listen to? The Root Guru of all Gurus, Trijang Rinpoche or a spirit called Nechung?

The Tibetan Govt in Dharamsala gives many contradictions that do not make sense to those who are learned, can debate and refute. Hence all requests to discuss the Shugden issue with the Dalai Lama and Tibetan Govt have been refused.

    Please contemplate on these contradictions.

This film presented is not meant to disparage the Dalai Lama nor Nechung. It is to bring a point across that the policies from Tibetan Govt must be fair and Dalai Lama should never ban, restrict, or speak against Dorje Shugden's practice. Dalai Lama has the right to worship Nechung, so the followers of Trijang Rinpoche have the right to worship Shugden.

Shugden's practice was estimated clearly to be around 4 million strong before 1959. Shugden was not a minor practice but a leading force within the Buddhism of Tibet.

Ten Simple Reasons why Dorje Shugden is a Buddha

    1. Dorje Shugden is the last incarnation in a lineage of enlightened Masters

Dorje Shugden arose from an incarnation lineage of enlightened Teachers. As the highly realized Master, Tagpo Kelsang Khedrub Rinpoche, said:

You have manifested in different aspects
    As Indian and Tibetan Masters,
Such as Manjushri, Mahasiddha Biwawa, Sakya Pandita,
Buton Rinchen Drub, Duldzin Dragpa Gyaltsen, Panchen Sonam Dragpa, and many others.

Their life stories are explained in the book Heart Jewel. Since his lineage is enlightened, Dorje Shugden is a Buddha too.

    2. Dorje Shugden could not be subdued by the 5th Dalai Lama or other Lamas

When Ngatrul Dragpa Gyaltsen, the last human incarnation, manifested as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden (as he had predicted he would do), the 5th Dalai Lama initially developed the mistaken idea that he was a spirit and tried to subdue him through performing wrathful fire pujas. Although he and many high Lamas tried to destroy Dorje Shugden, they were not able to because he is a Buddha. This is explained by Tagpo Kelsang Khedrub Rinpoche in his praise of Dorje Shugden, Infinite Aeons:

Then, although four undisputed powerful Tantrikas,
With concentration, began wrathful rituals to strike you down,
Through the power of having completed Guhyasamaja's two stages,
You would not be silenced, and showed signs of heroism; praise to you!

    3. Dorje Shugden's form teaches the paths of Sutra and Tantra

Dorje Shugden's form teaches the complete stages of the path of Sutra and Tantra, and such qualities are not possessed by the forms of worldly beings.

He appears as a fully ordained monk to show that the practice of pure moral discipline is essential for those who wish to attain enlightenment. In his left hand he holds a heart, which symbolize great compassion and spontaneous great bliss - the essence of all the stages of the vast path of Sutra and Tantra. His round yellow hat represents the view of Nagarjuna, and the wisdom sword in his right hand (like the one held by Manjushri and Je Tsongkhapa) teaches us to sever ignorance, the root of samsara, with the sharp blade of Nagarjuna's view. This is the essence of all the stages of the profound path of Sutra and Tantra. He rides a snow lion, symbolizing the four fearlessnesses of a Buddha.

Explanation of his remaining features can be found in Heart Jewel, as can the specific enlightened function of each of the thirty-two Deities of his mandala, which are explained in a prayer written by Sachen Kunlo, one of the great Sakya Lamas.

    Only enlightened beings display a meaningful aspect that teaches the entire path to enlightenment. Therefore, Dorje Shugden is a Buddha. }

    4. Dorje Shugden is the incarnation of the five Buddha families

Dorje Shugden is the incarnation of the five Buddha families and appears in five forms that symbolize the five families. These forms are explained in Heart Jewel and are called 'the five lineages of Dorje Shugden'. The principal Deity, Duldzin Dorje Shugden rides a snow lion. Vairochana Shugden is white and rides an elephant. Ratna Shugden is yellow and rides a palomino horse. Pema Shugden is red and rides a turquoise dragon. Karma Shugden is dark red and rides a wrathful Garuda bird. These forms also symbolize Dorje Shugden's attainment of pacifying, increasing, controlling and wrathful actions and his main form as Duldzin symbolizes the supreme attainment - enlightenment itself.

Since Dorje Shugden is the manifestation of the five Buddha families, there is no doubt that he is the same enlightened nature as Buddha Vajradhara.

    5. Dorje Shugden is the same nature as Manjushri, Je Tsongkhapa, Mahakala and Kalarupa

Dorje Shugden is the same nature as Je Tsongkhapa - they are the same person performing different functions. Many Dorje Shugden sadhanas state that Dorje Shugden is the embodiment of the "Guru, Yidam, and Protector", where "Guru" refers specifically to Lama Tsongkhapa. When we practice the sadhana of Dorje Shugden, we are indirectly practising the Guru yoga of Je Tsongkhapa. Gelugpa practitioners who have a sincere trust in Dorje Shugden will have no difficulty in generating unshakeable faith in Je Tsongkhapa and his teachings.

Both Je Tsongkhapa ('peaceful Manjushri') and Dorje Shugden ('wrathful Manjushri') are manifestations of the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri, as are the Dharma Protectors four-faced Mahakala and Kalarupa. Therefore, they are all the same enlightened nature.

    6. Dorje Shugden's mandala Deities are the same nature as the body mandala Deities of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang

The Deities of Dorje Shugden's mandala are the same nature as the Deities of the body mandala of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang, who is in essence Je Tsongkhapa.

Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang is the principal object of refuge in the blessed Gelug practice of Offering to the Spiritual Guide (Tib: Lama Ch?pa), which comes from Manjushri's Emanation Scripture. In this practice we visualize within his body the thirty-two Deities of Guhyasamaja. These thirty-two Deities manifest as the thirty-two Deities of Dorje Shugden's mandala, indicating that Dorje Shugden is the same nature as Je Tsongkhapa and Guhyasamaja and thus a fully enlightened being.

Of the Deities of the five lineages of Dorje Shugden explained above, the principal Deity is Duldzin Dorje Shugden, who is the manifestation of the aggregate of consciousness of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang. The remaining four lineages are manifestations of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang's remaining four aggregates. Je Tsongkhapa himself therefore manifests as an enlightened Protector and retinue to protect his Ganden tradition.

    7. The practice of Dorje Shugden was taught by Je Tsongkhapa in Tushita Pure Land

Dorje Shugden arose as the principal Protector of Je Tsongkhapa's doctrine over 300 years ago, at the time of the Fifth Dalai Lama, who composed the first verse of praise to him. However, the current system of empowerment and worship is more recent and comes from a great Lama called Tagpo Kelsang Khedrub Rinpoche. Lama Tagpo went to Tushita Pure Land where he met Je Tsongkhapa and requested a teaching. In response, Je Tsongkhapa lifted up the cloth covering the front of the golden throne on which he was sitting, and the five lineages of Dorje Shugden emerged. Dorje Shugden then transmitted the practice to Lama Tagpo, just as Maitreya had transmitted five major philosophical treatises to Asanga in Tushita Pure Land in earlier times.

Lama Tagpo later transmitted these instructions to Pabongkhapa Dechen Nyingpo, who passed them on to Trijang Dorjechang Losang Yeshe -- spiritual father and son. From Trijang Rinpoche, they passed to our present day Gelugpa Teachers.

    8. Dorje Shugden has been relied upon by the highest Lamas, who themselves have been recognized as enlightened

Well-regarded Gelugpa practitioners of Dorje Shugden include the 5th Dalai Lama, Kelsang Thubten Jigme Gyatso 1743-1811 (a tutor to the 9th Dalai Lama), Losang Thubten Wangchuk Jigme Gyatso 1775 - 1813 (head of the Gelugpa in Mongolia), Ngulchu Dharmabadra, the Indian master Shakya Shri Bhadra, the 11th Dalai Lama 1838 - 1856 (who installed Dorje Shugden as the Protector of the Gelugpa tradition), Gyara Tulku Rinpoche, Tomo Geshe Rinpoche (regarded by the 13th Dalai Lama as an emanation of Je Tsongkhapa), Serkong Rinpoche (regarded by the 13th Dalai Lama as Vajradhara),Tagpo Kelsang Khedrub Rinpoche, Pabongkha Rinpoche, Trijang Rinpoche, Ling Rinpoche, Khangsar Rinpoche, Tathag Rinpoche (in charge of the Tibetan Government after the death of the 13th Dalai Lama), Zong Rinpoche, Lobsang Tamdin, Ribur Rinpoche, Khen Rinpoche Losang Tharchin, Lati Rinpoche, Geshe Rabten, Geshe Ngawang Dhargyey, Khensur Rinpoche, Khechog Rinpoche, Dagyab Rinpoche, Gelek Rinpoche, Lama Yeshe, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Yongyal Rinpoche, the 14th Dalai Lama (until he was in his forties), Dagom Rinpoche, Gonsar Rinpoche, Gangchen Rinpoche and others.

These Lamas themselves have all been recognized as realized, holy beings, with many thousands of Tantric disciples who revered them as living Buddhas.

The later Lamas were all direct or indirect disciples of the great Pabongkha Rinpoche and Trijang Rinpoche. The 14th Dalai Lama says that Pabongkha Rinpoche and Trijang Rinpoche were "wrong" to worship Dorje Shugden, but they have been recognized as emanations of Heruka and Amitabha respectively, and were the principal upholders of Je Tsongkhapa's Gelug doctrine in their time; so how can they be wrong?

    9. Dorje Shugden performs the twenty-seven deeds of a Buddha

The highly realized Master, Tagpo Kelsang Khedrub Rinpoche, composed a verse of praise:

With deep faith I prostrate to you, Vajradhara Dorje Shugden. Although you have already attained the Buddha ground And engage in the twenty-seven deeds of a Buddha, You appear in various forms to help the Buddhadharma and sentient beings.

These twenty-seven deeds, explained in the Perfection of Wisdom Sutras, range from showing living beings the way to enter the spiritual path to liberation up to guiding them to the final attainment of Buddhahood. Since Dorje Shugden performs all these twenty-seven deeds, it is clear that he is a Buddha.

Some people say that Dorje Shugden has harmed practitioners who have strayed from the Ganden tradition, but there are no examples of this forthcoming, whereas there are many examples of how Dorje Shugden has protected living beings. For example, Dorje Shugden was responsible for the Dalai Lama being able to safely travel from Tibet to India in 1959.

Even today, there are many Buddhist practitioners with their own stories to tell of how they have been protected by this Dharma Protector. Dorje Shugden's name means 'Vajra Possessing Strength', indicating that he has great power and strength to spread Buddhadharma and to help people in these degenerate times.

    10. Relying upon Dorje Shugden leads to supramundane results

The difference between a Dharma Protector and a worldly protector is that the former is an enlightened being whereas the latter is not. Worldly protectors have no ability to flourish the Buddhadharma nor to protect Dharma realizations in a practitioner's mind. As a Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden's principal function is to protect our Dharma practice, not to help our mundane affairs.

Dorje Shugden always helps, guides, and protects faithful practitioners by granting blessings, increasing their wisdom, fulfilling their virtuous wishes, and bestowing success on all their virtuous activities. Dorje Shugden does not help only Gelugpas; because he is a Buddha, he helps all living beings.

Dorje Shugden has removed obstacles and created the conditions for the extraordinary growth of Je Tsongkhapa's teachings, and most importantly realizations of those teachings, in this current age. Je Tsongkhapa's doctrine is now spreading to countries throughout the world. For example, any spiritual success enjoyed by NKT and FPMT practitioners is due to the blessings of this Buddha. (Lama Yeshe, the founder of the FPMT, relied sincerely on Dorje Shugden throughout his life.)

Those who rely upon Dorje Shugden know that their spiritual realizations come from his blessings. However, as with a relationship with any holy being, this is something that can only be experienced by someone who relies on him with strong faith over a long period of time, steadily building their connection with him.

Gyara Tulku Rinpoche from Drepung Loseling Monastery wrote a prayer of gratitude, whose sentiments are shared by Dorje Shugden practitioners worldwide:

First you gave me a highly qualified Spiritual Guide
Under whom I studied and practised Dharma.
When through following misleading advice I came close to entering wrong paths,
You immediately hooked me back into the correct path.

O Duldzin, King of the Dharma, I thank you for your kindness.
Your body is the synthesis of all Sangha Jewels,
Your speech is the synthesis of all Dharma Jewels,
And your mind is the synthesis of all Buddha Jewels.

If venerating an object of refuge has to met the criterion you have set, that is to bestow what ever you pray for, then there will be no object of refuge left. That’s why I said you havent been practicing dharma genuinely. I can recall many instances where I got what I had prayed to DS, but this is not the reason why I venerate DS.

For Anna Tetro – Welcome to this site. There’s a treasure of knowledge here, available for all to read, study, contemplate. Some engage in such activities for the sake of curiosity, some to criticize, and for many of us, we find this online space a safe haven where we are able to share who our kind Protector is. Anna, it is said that truth is found in us, yet we all struggle to find it. Isn’t it ironic? It is most logical to look to the masters such as Deepak Chopra, Thich Nhat Hanh, Dalai Lama etc… there are also many other masters who honor Dorje Shugden. Do read up about them too. So are the masters in conflict? Would two different people, living on different sides of the earth experiencing day and the other experiencing night have a need to argue over the existence of the Sun? Absorb, learn, contemplate, keep an open mind, investigate as much as you can. And then you will know which path to follow and dedicate the rest of your life to. I wish you happiness.

For iloveds – I’m sorry, no, I don’t think he is a demon. I don’t believe in demons or satan. In fact when the Dalai Lama stated this I said, I don’t believe that anything is evil. However, there is poor view and wrong manifestations etc or dissolving incorrectly. No, please don’t think I think any living being who breathes is a demon. We all have a soul. I’m truly truly sorry for that, I didn’t mean that. And you are right, I don’t see right now, a way to manifest a million and I have said this to the Dalai Lama so good ears, I don’t have enough power or belief that I should have it. Also, I didn’t have the power to create anything I experienced. It is all cause and effect. So for me to have the memories I did, something dark had to be present. I don’t accuse, I ask and thank you for answering. Pure White Lotus Flowers for us all. Lots of love to you always. However, if I prayed to DS and didn’t get it but prayed to the others and did, of course I am going to think negatively, yes? Though a tough situation, iloveds, I find you peaceful and giving. Hugs and thank you. :) Kalki, I believe led me here. I ask DS, who is He? Also, the sangha of Kelsang Gyatso said I was too evolved for them to help me so I ventured to the whole following out of curiosity. Blessings…

Hi Anna, good you registered in our forum. I’m sure a lot of people have prayed for things and didn’t get it, does not give you a reason to discount someone. You could pray to HHDL for 1million dollars and if it doesn’t come true, will you discount HHDL because you didn’t get what you want that really doesn’t hold true in any religion. The reason all things do not come to us easily is because we really have not made the cause for it to come true. All the Holy Masters are Holy, they do help us, they do have great advice. Dorje Shugden may not have answered your prayers but if you had not met with him gone through the circumstances you did to get to opinion that he is a demon, would not have led you here. I hope you stay long.

I prayed to Dorje Shugden for a couple of months. The exact opposite of my requests happened every time. When I found out what the Dalai Lama said I went for help to Deepak Chopra, Thich Nhat Hanh and HH DL. Praying to them creates miracles that are unheard of. They all know this. Deepak did create many miracles. My mom, loved Him for a week and healed her Diabetes 2 one day. It just went away after months of having it. He does amazing things. The Dalai Lama makes miracles that all those I have mentioned know of and it’s crazy what He can do. Thich Nhat Hanh, I said, I want to see His calligraphy and then Ottawa, near where I live, posted it on their website. He was answering all my questions in lectures the whole time, I just needed to purify enough to find it! That is how my life works. Not the opposite of what I want, but getting what I want. That is another way I know that DS is not a Buddha. I could write a book on how many miracles I have been given. I can write a book on how DS is not a Buddha. I have, ask Kelsang Donsang under Kelsang Gyatso. He knows as we wrote to one another. I have witnesses for most things I state. God did that I imagine, keeping track of this realization of DS and a lot of things about myself!!! :) Just in case we want to try something new sometime. Those 3 truly bring it! It meaning Enlightenment!

Kelsang Gyatso will tell you what I discovered learning the Dharma Continuum and my own past lives, is that I was Enlightened through Lalitha, Mother OM. She was born from fire, from Lord Shiva to destroy evil worship that Brahma, the Creator, fell into once in a pure world. She came and fought him off and won. If you ask Kelsang Donsang, he can tell you how I came to know this. We all have imputations from the divine. She is the main Buddha within me. As is Mirabai, a trained warrior goddess. Some have Maitreya, some DS, I have them. In ALL my life times. Ask Kelsang Gyatso, he knows full well. Thank you for letting me share. I appreciate you so deeply today. I feel better that I can share. All my deepest love and may you all heal the same. Hugs and much love. xo :) Thank you, DS for having an open forum.

I wrote to the Dalai Lama and said, You know, You were at peace, all well and happy and asked Dorje Shugden a question. You got a no and now he’s malevolent. I prayed to Dorje Shugden and became my hell being. I asked Him, what were You complaining about? His accusation was heavy for a small no. Mine is huge as that was unacceptable. It not only harmed me, it harmed all around me as my energy dropped. I wrote to the Dalai Lama to find out what I was doing wrong. Sometimes, to place blame is ok. We must all take responsibility for what happens. Luckily I purified it and am no longer afraid of hell. YAY!!! Imprint purified, purpose of evil served. I am grateful. Love and Light to all!

I am not new to this site and have been observing the post very much. I also visit other sites about Buddhism. I find all the controversies very disturbing and at the same time observed that this is the only site I know that take an almost non political stand while also standing firm that Dorje Shugden is an enlightened Dharma Protector. Very informative and convincing. Really well researched. Also, has got comics, which is great.
The conclusion of my observation is that ALL high Lamas are right including that of HH the Dalai Lama. How can that be?? Need more time to figure this out. Maybe a drama…??!! Or just the karma of the age..!!

I am very interested in Tibetan Buddhism and this is the first site that I came across about Dharma protector and I find it very informative. In Japan, there is what we call the Hachi Bushū or the Eight Legions. They are eight groups of beings said to be present when Shaka Nyorai (Historical Buddha) expounded the Flower Sutra on Vultures Peak. They converted to Buddhism after listening to the words of Shaka Nyorai, thereafter becoming guardians of Buddhist teachings. 1. Ten or Deva: Celestial beings, 6th level of existence
    2. Ryū or Naga: Serpent-like creatures, including dragons.
3.Yasha: Warriors of Fierce Stance, Nature Spirits.
    4. Kendatsuba or Gandharva: Gods of music, medicine, children.
    5. Ashura: Demigod, 4th level of existence
    6. Karura or Garuda: Bird-man, enemy of dragons
    7. Kinnara: Celestial musicians & dancers
    8. Magoraka or Mahoraga: Serpentine musicians I also like Chinese Buddhism very much and I like the Dharma protectors very much. The roof of the door entering each Monastery as designed in such a way that it could accommodate two Dharma Protectors, one on the left and the other on the right. The statues of the Dharma Protectors are usually sculptured as fierce-looking. I don’t study Buddhism much, but I see protectors in all types of Buddhism, Japanese, Korean, Chinese…and I just love studying about them and collect their images (^_^)

Wow, what an informative website. I have gathered so much information about who Dorje Shugden is and what the controversial is all about. I am not so interested in the political part but the part about the role, the manifestation of Dorje Shugden are really fascinating. The fact that highly attained monks are the practitioners of Dorje Shugden convinces me that Dorje Shugden is an enlightened protector with whom we can take refuge in. The more I read about him, the more I like him. Great job, all of you who are maintaining this website. I am sure more people will start to accept and practice Dorje Shugden because of the truth you guys are revealing to the world.

The outer three jewels are the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The Three jewels have an inner aspect, known as the Three Roots: the Guru, who is the root of blessings; the Yidam, who is the root of accomplishment; and the Dakini, who is the root of enlightened activity. Although the names are different, these three do not in any way differ from the Three Jewels. The Guru is the Buddha, the Yidam is the Dharma, and the Dakinis and Protectors are the Sangha. And on the innermost level, the Dharmakaya is the Buddha, the Sambhogakaya is the Dharma, and the Nirmanakaya is the Sangha.

@Tenzin, I actually feel this site does the opposite. Yes Dharma Protectors were private in the past, yet now times have changed. Degenerate times require even more help from our Dharma Protectors. Doesn’t make sense to keep them secret when the need for them is even more crucial.

Dharma protectors were treated as private and secret stuff in Tibet. The protectors had places in separate temples and were not available to the public. You have contributed to change this and I think the site contributes to the degeneration of Buddhism. Also you wrongly claim that Shugden were the protector of Tsongkhapa, this is plain wrong. His protectors are Kalarupa, Vaishravana and Mahakala. Sorry, but I think you are carried away by unimportant issues and the site gives the impression to me, that it is correct to restrict this practice because it leads people away from the essence of Buddha’s teachings. Protectors are for sure not part of the essence of Buddhism.
