Eleven years ago on the 2nd of June 2003, a special boy was born to Karma and Hishey Dorji of Sikkim. In the early spring of 2008, this special boy, who was given the name Losang Jigme Nyak-gi Wangchuk by Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche, was enthroned as the 3rd incarnation of Domo Geshe Rinpoche at Samten Choling Monastery in Ghoom, India.
H.E. Domo Geshe Rinpoche’s line of incarnations include Shariputra, the Mahadsiddha Gayadhara, Dharmashri, Munijnana, Tönmi Sambhota, King Trisong Detsen, Dromtönpa, Milarepa, Khedrup Rinpoche, and Dragpa Gyaltsen. In fact, Domo Geshe Rinpoche Ngawang Kalsang (1936 – 1966) was so highly respected that upon meeting him, the 13th Dalai Lama declared that he had met Lama Tsongkhapa himself.
Domo Geshe Rinpoche Ngawang Jigme (1937-2001) was credited with gathering holy objects and arranging for them to be transported out of Tibet before he was exiled. Among these holy objects are a number of very precious manuscript collections and the sets of textbooks used by the different colleges of Sera, Drepung, and Ganden. Without these textbooks, it would have been impossible to continue the tradition of the great monastic universities in exile. Domo Geshe Rinpoche Ngawang Jigme also played an important role in establishing Tibet House in New Delhi and was the cultural ambassador for His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government when Rinpoche took a Tibetan art exhibition to Japan.
H.E. Domo Geshe Chocktrul Rinpoche enrolled and enthroned at Shar Ganden Monastery on 25th April, 2009. Rinpoche is presently studying at Shar Ganden with several tutors, and receives continuous guidance from his spiritual Guru and Mentor, H.H. Kyabje Trijang Choktrul Rinpoche.
On 2 June 2014, the auspicious day of Domo Geshe Rinpoche’s birthday was celebrated in both Shar Ganden Monastery, Mundgod as well as in Samten Choling Monastery in Ghoom, Darjeeling. Prayers and offerings were made to Domo Geshe Chocktrul Rinpoche, including a splendid birthday cake.
We at dorjeshugden.com pray for Domo Geshe Chocktrul Rinpoche to continue his activities to turn the wheel of Dharma, and particularly for the teachings of the great master Je Tsongkapa to grow and flourish forever more.

I rejoice to see more and more reincarnate Tulku to come back. This is very important as without the qualified Guru, we are unable to learn dharma. However, students also need to get ready everything in order Guru can teach. I hereby pray H.E Domo Geshe Choktrul Rinpoche always healthy and may all sentient being can receive teachings from Him in the coming future.

Rejoice! Because of ds.com I knew more about the high lamas and how they compassionately keep coming back to spread dharma. Domo Geshe Rinpoche is no ordinary monk. He was the one who subdued Namkar Badzin and made hi m one of the entourages of Dorje Shugden. It is so wonderful that Domo Geshe Rinpoche is now studying under Trijang Rinpoche. May Domo Geshe Rinpoche live long and in good health always. May Tsongkhapa lineage spread far and wide.

It’s so nice and reassuring for the preservation of the Dharma to see such a young Tulku being trained in the traditional manner. It bodes well for the spread of the Dharma in the future. Happy Birthday Rinpoche-la! May you be able to benefit many beings in the future by elucidating the golden Dharma!

What an auspicious day to celebrate – a life of a great being coming into samsara, living and breathing amongst us to benefit all sentient beings. May Domo Geshe Rinpoche have a long and healthy life to continuously guide sentient beings out of samsara.
Also, thank you to Rinpoche’s parents, for bringing a special being into this world, for agreeing to let their son take ordination and be enthroned, and for allowing Him to stay at Shar Gaden Monastery to study under great geshes and lamas so that he will grow up to continue His great works from previous lives and spread the practise of Dorje Shugden far and wide.

Apparently the current young Domo Geshe Rinpoche has a very similar personality his previous reincarnation, very reserved and does not comment much, but keeps a very close focus to everything that goes on around him. May the Dharma grow and the teachings and lineage of Domo Geshe Rinpoche benefit many beings !
