Highly attained Lamas like Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche and Kyabje Zong Chocktrul Rinpoche are maturing before our very eyes. As H.H. the Dalai Lama slowly retires from the world, think of who will emerge to re-establish the Dharma and thus, of course, the practice of Dorje Shugden? It will be these young Lamas and it is without a doubt that with the way things are turning out, our protector Dorje Shugden will emerge like the rising sun!
It will not only be these two great lamas, of course. There are many, many, many other lamas and Geshes who are relatively young; some are finishing their studies, some are still studying now, and some incarnations have only recently been found and recognised. This will all ‘explode’ onto the scene after the passing of the Dalai Lama (I am sorry to have to say this, and I do not wish in any way for this to happen).
There are many monks studying now who will become great teachers in the future; they will become lamas we may not even have heard of. After all, some of the world’s most famous lamas today, such as Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Geshe Rabten and Lama Yeshe, were all ‘nobodies’ (no offence intended at all) when they were in the monasteries and had just escaped from Tibet. There will be many more like them. Everyone is just keeping a low profile for now.
No other Lama will be able to say anything against these future lamas in the future. Each sect will practice as they like and a single lama (such as the Dalai Lama now) will never be able to ‘control’ the other lamas again. This will be the last time; it will be the last time the Dalai Lama can ‘act’ or carry out his ‘brand’ of Dharma again. He will never have this same type of influence in his incarnations as future Dalai Lamas as he does now (if he even returns in this same incarnation lineage). All the lamas who practice Dorje Shugden now will come out and teach, do pujas, spread and initiate many into the Dorje Shugden practice. Many of these lamas are already doing this now, although very quietly. Dorje Shugden’s practice will grow, expand and become huge. He will become a World Peace Protector. This is for sure.
Meanwhile, we should all keep our samayas with our lamas clean, keep our practices consistent, train our minds, transform our habits, study as much as we can at home, dedicate our time to Dharma and its growth, study and understand the Lam Rim, and continue to solicit and do pujas to our sacred Protector. We should do the preliminary practices such as prostrations, mandalas, Guru Yoga, etc. focusing on Je Tsongkapa as our outer yidam. Then, we should consistently engage in our Tantric practice quietly, without fanfare and by holding with intense concentration our three sets of vows, tsog commitments, and generation/completion stages of any of the higher Annutaratantra deities.
If we do this, then Duldzin Dorje Shugden will be pleased and we would create the causes for this lineage to expand, grow and remain stable. It would not only grow, but also have the power to be a potent lineage containing genuine blessings to confer attainments. The only protection from everything in samsara is our real genuine stable attainments. If we maintain all our practices, as described above, we would not be a ‘dead’ lineage unable to confer blessings because we would not have broken samaya with our gurus.
We should channel our hate, pain, anger, disappointment, sadness, depressions and disappointments into our practices; we should channel all this energy towards gaining attainments, or at least towards stable, unchangeable understanding and faith in Dharma.
