On BBC, monks protesting in Nepal are beaten by the police. Clubbed and pushed violently into the paddy wagon. Very bad image for Tibetan Buddhism. Is the Tibetan Govt in exile allowing these type of images to flood the world media?
Why are they not putting energy and resources into stopping the monks from political activities that endangers the bigger picture, which is Tibetan Buddhism. Buddhism is Tibet’s only and best export. If this is damaged, world support for Tibet will greatly diminish. Will they allow their sangha to be so degraded? Instead of putting so much energy into the BAN ON A SACRED PRACTICE SUCH AS DORJE SHUGDEN, the Tibetan Government should write books, give speeches, send message, have voting sticks, and push the Sangha to stop all activities such as violence and political activities that damage Tibetan Buddhism. The small minded Tibetan Govt always speaks about issues that has no damage to Tibet and HH such as Dorje Shugden. But ignores bigger issues: the reputation damage of the Tibetan Sangha in world view. If HH and Tibetan Govt cannot control their monks inside and outside of Tibet, why is it they put so much resources into banning Dorje Shugden among the Sangha?Tibetan monks on BBC rioting with stones and sticks in Lhasa sends a very damaging message to the whole world.
It damages the image of HH, the Tibetan Govt in exile, and Tibetan Buddhism. The Tibetan Govt should focus all energy on that instead of the Dorje Shugden issue. Breaking the Samaya of teacher and students in the banning of Dorje Shugden does have terrible karmic effects.
