Part of a speech the Dalai Lama gave enforcing the ban on Dorje Shugden and a glimpse at what followed. The monks immediately started expelling and harassing monks that wish to remain steadfast to their practice. This is encouraged by Dalai Lama.
This speech was given in Drepung Monastery with monks from Gaden, Sera, Tashilunpo, Nyingma, Sakya and Kagyu all in attendance. In this speech to the Tibetans, Dalai Lama is not giving any democratic choice to continue the practice of Dorje Shugden or not. He is in fact encouraging the ex-communication of monks from the Monastery who refuse to abandon their lifetime practice of Shugden.
Democracy or freedom of religion is not to be persecuted for your beliefs. Why would the monks be expelled if they do not listen to the ‘democratic’ order of the Dalai Lama? It does not make sense. If you wish to practice or not should be left to you and and all Tibetans must be able to enjoy the rights of priviledges of all Tibetans irregardless of your religious faith. The Dalai Lama’s tone is much more softer when he speaks in Europe or America. He will not outright say you cannot practice. But it is your choice. But in his own communities, you do not have a choice. This video is clear proof there is no religious freedom. You have to give up Dorje Shugden or face expulsion as ordered by the Dalai Lama.
In Tibet, over four million practiced Shugden.
