The Tibetan government-in-exile also accused an organization, Dorje Shugden Devotees Charitable and Religious Society – founded in 1996 and allegedly responsible for killing three monks close to the Dalai Lama – of conspiring to kill the leader. Chinjor said Shugden supporters were violent and China might use them against the Dalai Lama. “We’ve reports that this organization is backed by China and its leaders have visited China several times,” said Chinjor, adding the Chinese are cultivating Tibetans entering India to harm the leader”.

- Jamyang Norbu, a world renowned author takes a picture with a Shugden practitioners and discovered to his shock that:
“Is it now a criminal act in our society or a mortal sin in the eyes of the Dalai Lama to have your photograph taken with a member of a Shugden organization? I asked around and it seems that the answer is yes. I was told that Dharamshala is going around all Tibetan communities making people sign pledges that they would ostracize Shugden devotees, and not even share a meal with them or have anything to do with them. I was told to watch an Al Jazeera documentary on the issue and I was shocked. I had not known that things had gotten so out of hand. Tibetans really need to deal with this issue through discussion and debate, before we start murdering each other, one of these days, just like Sunnis and the Shias, or Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland”.

- The CTA continues to marginalize Shugden worshippers by spreading rumors about their intentions to harm the Dalai Lama. Ngodup Dorjee, security chief of the Tibetan exile government issues a statement to the Times Of India, repeating the same accusations that Shugden practitioners are linked to China:
We are weighing every threat perception to Buddhist leaders and Tibetan pilgrimage places. This (Dorjee Shigden) threat is also under our scanner. We cannot ignore the community’s recent activities against Dalai Lama. We have already identified some of their places and monasteries in Tibetan settlements across India.
Dorje Shugden followers are damaging the websites openly and have their people in all Tibetan settlements. We are worried about their sources of funding. It might be China or some other anti-Tibetan elements.
- There has never been any proof or evidence that Shugden worshippers are even remotely associated with China or any other foreign political elements. The strategy has worked for the Dalai Lama and CTA well and has served to completely isolate Shugden people from Tibetan society.
