For the last 18 years, the Tibetan leadership has orchestrated and sustained a violent campaign against Dorje Shugden practitioners. Contrary to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings on compassion and acceptance, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) have continued to deceive the world at large over their activities. On the one hand the CTA courts Western donors, raising vast amounts of sponsorship to fund their administration. With the other hand, the CTA suppresses religious freedoms within their communities, by encouraging their people to react violently against Dorje Shugden practitioners.
After the recent Dorje Shugden protests which followed His Holiness throughout the United States, many anti-Shugden supporters have since gone on the record stating that they do not know what the protests are about because the Tibetan leadership have never banned the practice of Dorje Shugden. They claim that religious freedom is well and alive within the Tibetan communities. We at DorjeShugden.com very much beg to differ, for we have heard of many events and witnessed too many occasions when Dorje Shugden practitioners have been physically and emotionally abused and discriminated against because of their beliefs.
A recently published video caught our attention as it captures perfectly how Dorje Shugden practitioners have lived in fear for the last 18 years. Where the Tibetan leadership and their supporters have consistently and violently discriminated against Dorje Shugden practitioners, the practitioners have not retaliated in any way whatsoever. Instead, they have continued with their peaceful, unwavering reliance on their lineage masters and the Dharma teachings they have received. Filmed in 2000, the video shows 3,000 lay and ordained Tibetans descending upon Gaden Shartse Monastery in South India to riot against a particular group of monks’ practice of Dorje Shugden.
Their targeted group was the 600 monks of Dokhang Khangtsen. A khangtsen is a kind of fraternity house established within a monastery, to make the administrative duties of the monastery more efficient. This particular khangtsen of Gaden Shartse Monastery took care of monks from the Dokhang region in Tibet, and one of their main practices was Dorje Shugden.
The organisers of such a violent riot were none other than the local Tibetan representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who incited the Tibetan villagers to take part. As they hide behind a mask of democracy and civility, it is sad their agenda against Dorje Shugden had led the Tibetan leadership to divide an otherwise peaceful community in such a way that in-fighting between monks is now commonplace, and lay people feel it their right to disrespect those who are ordained. Furthermore, the Tibetan leadership claims ignorance of such events, stating they have never implemented a ban. Their double-edged words however, continue to incite the Tibetan people to react in such a violent manner and this was noted by none other than Time Magazine when they wrote,
The problem is that in Tibet most people shun those whom they think the Dalai Lama wants them to shun.
- TIME Magazine (July 18, 2008)
If the Dalai Lama really was a man of peace and non-violence, would he not ask his followers to stop their violent actions toward Shugden practitioners? Would he not ask his own people to stop causing bloodshed against their own brothers and sisters? Instead of asking his followers to stop the religious persecution of Shugden practitioners, the Dalai Lama says,
There will be no change in my stand. I will never revoke the ban. You are right. It will be like the Cultural Revolution. If those who do not accept the ban do not listen to my words, the situation will grow worse for them. You sit and watch. It will grow only worse for them.
- The 14th Dalai Lama to Gen Chonze of Trijang Labrang (Gaden Shartse Monastery, South India, January 1999)
Note that these words were spoken by the Dalai Lama to the same Gen Chonze who was recently attacked at Trijang Labrang by five masked men in the early hours of December 27, 2013. A gentle monk who has served both the previous and current Trijang Rinpoches, Gen Chonze had humbly requested the Dalai Lama to lift the ban. He felt that it was creating an atmosphere in the monastery similar to that in Tibet during the Cultural Revolution – that is, a feeling of being oppressed by a greater power through the institutionalized enforcement of an unjust ruling.
How do you view these strong words by the Dalai Lama, spoken to a 69 year old monk who had done nothing but practised the Dharma for his entire life? Would you not consider this a threat for further action to be taken against you, if you object to or do not comply with the ban? It is the first time ever in the history of Buddhism that a Buddhist nation has instigated and carried out such violent actions against their own people. From all angles, this ban by the Tibetan leadership has violated and broken every human rights law and code of ethics possible.
The uncanny coincidence of such harsh words being spoken to Gen Chonze, and the recent attack on his person, also gives us pause to consider the motives behind the attack. Is it possible that being such a prominent member of the monastic community, that Gen Chonze has further knowledge of the ban, its background and its origins? After all, the Dalai Lama felt Gen Chonze important enough to speak such significant words to him. It t would not surprise us that Gen Chonze knows much more information with the potential to publicly embarrass the Dalai Lama.
Below we present to you further evidence of a huge contradiction by the CTA claiming there is “no ban”, “no violence” and “no one has been hurt”. We ask every reader, researcher and investigator to look carefully at this video and decide for your own self whether or not there is a ban:
What you need to know
- The riot took place on September 10, 2000 in front of Dokhang Khangtsen, Gaden Shartse Monastery (in South India).
- Approximately 3,000 monks, nuns and lay Tibetans were involved. The monks and nuns came from the surrounding local monasteries, namely Gaden Jangtse Monastery, Drepung Gomang Monastery, and the local nunneries.
- The organizers brought stones and bricks, and even arranged for an ambulance from the local hospital, anticipating provoked casualties.
- The protest was organized by the local representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He said he had received a directive from Dharamsala (the base of the Tibetan leadership, located in North India) to protest against Dholgyal (their derogatory name for Dorje Shugden).
- Fully ordained monks from Gaden Jangtse and Drepung Gomang Monasteries, and nuns from the local nunneries, were seen throwing rocks and bricks at the monks inside the prayer hall (at 2:58, 3:16 and 3:38 in the video above).
- Lay Tibetan women issued the most vulgar, degrading insult possible in Tibetan society – they flapped their aprons, cursing the monks as is the traditional manner in which a Tibetan woman would do so (at 1:37 in the video above).
- The Indian police stood guard with riot shields and batons to protect the Dokhang Khangtsen monks (at 3:56 in the video above), who were inside their prayer hall peacefully doing Dorje Shugden prayers (at 4:23 in the video above). The police kept the rioters back, because they threatened to burn down the prayer hall should they gain access into the compound.
- In their frenzy, the mob assaulted the police who ended up firing two warning shots into the air and spraying teargas to disperse the crowd.
- As a result of events, a 48-hour curfew was imposed on the local Tibetan settlements.
In the face of such overwhelming evidence, it would be simply ludicrous to claim that there is no ban and that Dorje Shugden practitioners are not subjected to ongoing violent physical and emotional attacks by non-Shugden practitioners. It is also equally ludicrous that so many signs can escape the attention of the Tibetan leadership who continue to claim ignorance of such a ban. We invite you to review the evidence below, to judge for yourself whether there exists a ban and a consistent, sustained attack on religious freedoms within the Tibetan community against Dorje Shugden practitioners.
It is a rule and unspoken law that no one in the Tibetan communities may protest or disagree with any of the Dalai Lama’s policies. You may not protest or ask for change for that is tantamount to treason because there is no democracy within CTA. Tibetan scholars, masters and teachers have requested the Tibetan leadership to have dialogue regarding the ban as well as removing its unconstitutional bias, but there have been no replies whatsoever. To the West the Tibetan leadership portrays themselves as fair, just and open to dialogue, but that is just for financial support that they must appear that way. In reality as you can see in the video, any dissension is violently put down. Remember, this video was taken in Gaden Monastery (South India), perpetrated by Tibetans against Dorje Shugden-practicing Tibetans. Tibetans and many Westerners have taken the protests to Western countries (for example, most recently in Washington, D.C.) and the protests will continue. Dorje Shugden practitioners will achieve freedom to practice and equality.

ID Cards and Registration Forms Issued by Various Tibetan Authorities and Monasteries
Below each image is a translation of the Tibetan text. The fact these ID cards, registration forms and signs exist prove that there is a ban which is enforced and there is no religious freedom within the Tibetan communities. If there was no ban, then such ID cards, forms and signs would not be necessary.

Signs From Around the World Banning Shugden Practitioners
At a shop in Mundgod, South India (the location of Gaden Shartse and Gaden Jangtse Monastery), a sign on the window clearly states that Dorje Shugden practitioners are denied service. This is reminiscent of America before the civil rights movement and is certainly not the sign of a successful democracy.
Dorje Shugden practitioners are excluded from a Gelug monastery in Sarnath, North India.
A close-up of the sign outside the monastery in Sarnath, North India.
At the Drepung Loseling clinic in Karnataka, South India, Dorje Shugden practitioners are not allowed to receive / access medical treatment. Aside from being un-Buddhist through its lack of compassion, this sign is a clear contradiction of the Hippocratic Oath all doctors take to provide medical treatment freely and ethically.
In the Tibetan communities, any and every opportunity is taken to remind Dorje Shugden practitioners that they are not welcome.
When the Dalai Lama was due to give teachings throughout Southeast Asia, the organizers saw it fit to discriminate against Dorje Shugden practitioners using the event registration form. What kind of impression would this give to those new to Buddhism, and unaware of the Shugden issue? A positive one of the faith, or confusion over how religious discrimination can coexist alongside teachings on compassion?
A sign at a temple in Singapore stating “In accordance with the wishes of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, we in ………. under the guidance of ………. DO NOT ENGAGE IN THE WORSHIP AND PRACTICE OF DORJE SHUGDEN. We do not support the propitiation of this spirit and also encourage all practitioners to abide by this instruction.” The temple is very clear about who issued the instructions for the ban.

Reading what HH Dalai Lama relate to as Cultural Revolution saddens me. Has history not taught anyone? What did Hitler’s genocide do, what did the cultural revolution finally achieved? So scary that a man of peace, compassion & a sangha, can say what he did.

Dear http://www.dorjeshugden.com,
This article is FANTASTIC! The video of all the violence CTA has instigated against Dorje Shugden practitioners in Ganden Monastery is really proof in the pudding. CTA is nailed to the evidence now. How can CTA create so much violence and stir up so much schism within their own Tibetan communities is unbelievable. CTA should really be put our of business and retire already. The video is clear as well as incriminating. Listen on the video where Dalai Lama says he rejoices (5:48) in the monks kicked out of the monasteries because they practice Dorje Shugden?? How can he say that?
He also in says in this video his gurus are wrong (6:34). How can he say that. That is against all lineages of Tibetan Buddhism. If his gurus can be wrong, then he himself can be wrong too. Isn’t that the logical conclusion?

It’s a shame that the CTA is causing so much violence and sufferings for Dorje Shugden practitioners. This is so discriminating and an insult to human rights and religious freedom!!!

Sierra true but it doesnt make sense. I mean, the guys a friggin PR genius. He goes all around the world raising millions in sponsorship and hes been doing this for how many decades now? Youd think hed know better than to let a line like that slip from his mouth, no matter how safe an environment he thinks hes in. So it makes me wonder why hed say something as harsh and intolerant as that in a public environment.
Also theres been a debate raging on Facebook because some twonk claims we are harrassing people with information about Dorje Shugden. The only harrassment thats taking place is the Tibetan leadership harrassing us and our Dharma brothers and sisters in Tibet and India over our practice.
You guys need to see this: http://on.fb.me/1oP0ra1
Ah dont you just love the stench of religious intolerance. Always makes such a great end to my day.

This article exposes one of the most prominent lies within the world of Tibetan Buddhism. By openly advocating spiritual suppression while promoting world peace and compassion. The degree of hypocrisy is by far it’s maximum for anyone who understand what Buddhism is all about.
There is no demon in Buddhism. Anguilimala, the Bradman who killed 999 people during Buddha’s time was saved by the compassionate Buddha and brought to the level of Arahatship. Hence, even for the most evil sinner, there is hope for salvation because of the individual’s innate Buddha nature. There is no such condemnation in Buddhism.
Thanks to the Web site’s administration, we’re able to see for ourselves the proof of such suppression of Dorje Shugden practitioners. The monks of Dokham Khamtsen where the Lord Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche comes from is attached and only protected by so few people. How can one stand such religious discrimination and suppression?
We are at an age of logic and understanding. No longer in the era of darkness and superstition messed with politics! Please everyone see this and voice out so that we can lift the ban!

Thank you dorjeshugden.com producing this timely article that reveals for everyone to see, the injustices done on Dorje Shugden practitioners. It is terrible, degrading and inhumane way to use religion as a means to segregate people. The Tibetans themselves are already a small group within the vast Indian subcontinent and the Dorje Shugden ban clearly is segregating the Tibetans.
This is definitely not the way to go if they are seeking some kind of headway with the Tibetan cause of seeking self-autonomy with the Chinese. The Chinese would not want archaic religious policies in place and especially one that threatens social stability. Therefore, its no wonder that the Tibetan negotiations with the Chinese have reached stalemate.
Anyway, I just hope that with more awareness, this ban would go down.

Well, what else do you expect them to say except to claim that there is no ban. Why do you think they are always touring the US? It has to be to raise funds. And where do you think the funds go to??? Where else but to organise and fund the suppression and violent campaigns against Shugdenpas and their personal interests. How else then can the key people in CTA buy houses in countries like the US and Australia and send their kids to schools and colleges in those countries with their meagre salaries?
The US constitution stands for religious freedom as fundamental human right. By claiming that there is no ban is their way of tricking the US donors to support them for their personal agendas. Once the Americans find out of their lies and hypocrisy, it will be the end of their game plan. Thank you for publishing such a clear and concise proof of their ‘antics’. Exposé time!

This is a great compilation articles that shown how a great Gaden Shartse Monastery being split apart with discrimination and violent. The article shows the evidence of the reality of the ban towards Dorje Shugden practitioners. It’s sad to see how the people being influence to attack the Dorje Shugden practitioners and HH Dalai Lama still can deny from his interview…….imagine how much negative karma will be collected by the people carry out the attack especially the monks and nuns. Practitioners are being discriminate and they can’t even live like a normal people to buy groceries, get medical treatment and etc….come on if the practice of Dorje Shugden is wrong no way the Dalai Lama can be right because the linage has been taught for so long and so many great master has been practicing. How can that be wrong?
With what proof that Dorje Shugden practice is wrong? No evident that being table out to make clear the ban but the violence actions towards the practitioners are everywhere.

The footage where 3000 people including sanghas attacked monks in Dokhang Khangtsen is a very strong proof that Dorje Shugden practitioners are indeed attacked violently. Not only that, the signages, the ID cards also show very cleary Dorje Shugden practitioners are being isolated and treated unfairly by the Tibetan Community.
In the video, HHDL said to the monks that he fully supports the action of the monasteries to expel Dorje Shugden practitioners, that means he is supporting the use of violence also! HHDL on one hand is travelling around to spread the words of peace, non-violence, tolerance, harmony and respect; but on the other hand, he is using all means to impose ban on Dorje Shugden practice. I see a lot of contradictions here.
If HHDL does not respect Dorje Shugden practitioners then at least respect the Nobel World Peace Prize panel. They gave him the recognition because he is seen as the man who brings peace. If even a Peace Prize winner can be a hypocrite, what hope do we still have for world peace?

A very timely article, much needed in the wake of the recent Tibetan responses to the peaceful demonstrations in America’s East and West Coasts. The casual reader could not be faulted for perhaps believing in the lies that the Central Tibetan Administration, pro-Dalai Lama-ists and Tibetans in general are spouting about how there was always freedom of choice, that anyone could choose to take or leave the Dalai Lama’s advice, that Shugden practitioners aren’t oppressed or discriminated against. It sounds believable, doesn’t it? Of course it does, when one is defending none other than a Nobel Peace Prize winner and his government.
No one would have guessed that the years of lying through their teeth about the reasons for the ban on Dorje Shugden is why these lies (which are still being uttered today) are delivered so smoothly and believably.
Which is why I’m glad to see this article which, through fact and evidence disproves everything the Tibetan Administration and its affiliates would have us believe. And if anyone is going to claim that they are not lying, just look at these examples:
***
LIES FROM THE TIBETAN ASSOCIATIONS OF SOUTHERN AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA:
“In his capacity as the pre-eminent Tibetan Buddhist leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama encourages his Tibetan Buddhist followers to engage with the Buddha’s teachings in a spirit of critical enquiry and understanding, rather than blind faith. ”
(Really? Then why have all requests for dialogue been denied?)
AND
“We know for a fact that no Tibetans in the exile community have been deprived of their rights, whether these relate to education, health, jobs in the administration or their retirement plans, on account of their attachment to the worship of Shugden.”
(Why then, are they signs banning entry to Shugden practitioners to shops, clinics, libraries, etc?)
***
LIES FROM ROBERT THURMAN
(http://tibet.net/2014/03/06/the-dalai-lama-and-the-cult-of-dolgyal-shugden/)
“The worship of their chosen deity was not “banned” by the Dalai Lama, since he has no authority to “ban” what Tibetan Buddhists practice. “Banning” and “excommunicating” are not Tibetan Buddhist procedures.”
(So, if I am a Shugden practitioner, no one is allowed to associate with me, speak with me, do business with me. I am not allowed to attend teachings, I have to leave my monastery. If that is not excommunication, what is?)
AND
“…members of the cult who mind their own business and do not attack the Dalai Lama are not bothered by other Tibetans.”
(Oh yeah, I am treated as a pariah by the Tibetan society… I am FORCED to mind my own business because no one can associate with me…)

“His Holiness has clearly stated that, in the end, it’s up to the individual to choose what they wish to do.”

If many anti-Shugden supporters states that they do not know what the protests are then they should really come out of their shell and read this article. If they don’t believe that there is a ban and think dorjeshugden.com is a propaganda website, how about hearing from the words of His Holiness the Dalai Lama himself: http://www.dorjeshugden.com/all-articles/the-controversy/contradiction-in-the-dalai-lamas-public-statements/
I visited the monasteries and the settlements and saw for myself. I am aghast at the suffering: some families had to stop contacting their family members because of this ban, some Gurus cannot meet their disciples because of this ban. There is no religious freedom! I used to support the Tibetan cause, but because of this ban, I really am ashamed of supporting the Tibetans and the Tibetan cause because it has create a doubt in me that a government that treats his own citizens like second class citizens should not be given a chance to harm its citizen more. Perhaps China can lead Tibet towards secular development that is much better than Tibetans who put down, harm and persecute their own people?
In 1989 His Holiness was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his non-violent struggle for the liberation of Tibet. Dalai Lama has consistently advocated policies of non-violence, even in the face of extreme aggression and wasthe first Nobel Laureate to be recognised for his concern for global environmental problems. Yet, amidst all these, why is violence allowed in his own backyard? Why did the Dalai Lama continue to uphold this ban that cause many Tibetans to be harm by Tibetans?
127 Tibetans have self-immolated in Tibet and China since February 27, 2009. They believe in Tibet and give their lives up so that Tibetans can rule the Tibetans again, perhaps they die in vain. This is the real Tibet that we see and it’s ugly. Tibetans who threatened to burn down the prayer hall when monks are doing prayers in the hall? What kind of Tibetan Buddhists are these?
I regret for you, all the heroes who sacrificed your lives in vain because I sincerely believe this government will not rule the country well and benefit the Tibetans. I am so sorry Lobsang Dorje, Phagmo Samdup, Tsultrim Gyatso, Kunchok Tseten, Tsering Gyal, Shichung,Kunchok Sonam, Wangchen Dolma, Tenzin Sherab, Losang Dawa, Konchok Woeser, Chugtso, Konchok Tenzin, Lhamo Kyab,Kalkyi, Lobsang Thogme, Kunchog Wangmo, Sangdag, Phagmo Dundrup, Rinchen… May all of you have peace and may Dorje Shugden lead you to a better place. It may be good that you and your family do not learn of these horrible truths that was hidden from you — when Tibetans harm Tibetans in the name of Buddhadharma and the Dalai Lama.

Was it a joke that the anti-Shugden people claim there is no ban on Dorje Shugden, no violence or no one has been hurt because of Dorje Shugden?!
Even though I am not Tibetan and I live in China, I know about the ban and I know many has suffered from this ban and there are still so many people out there suffering because of this ban! For the anti-Shugden to deceive the world by denying the existance of this ban, they are actually deceiving themselves, how pathetic! And they are not practicing the teachings of the Buddha, Buddha always teaches us to speak the truth and be compassion. Such a shame for them to say they are Buddhist.
This ban of Dorje Shugden is purely a bully! Degrading others belief is so wrong and uncivilized. Not to mention the physically abused and bullies the anti-Shugden people give to Shugden practitioners. The world is not blind and we see the truth clearly! CTA should stop already, they should start to be a real Dharma practitioners already! Stop deceiving the world, stop the bullies, no ones own the right to stop ones belief.
I must thank dorjeshugden.com for speaking up for the Shugden practitioners who still receiving tremendous abused from CTA and the anti-Shugden people. Thank you for providing the evidents to show to those who is still not so clear with the bad bully situatition. Everyone deserves to know the true face of CTA and what they are doing.

In a time when information is easily shared to the world, even from the most remote of places, how does the CTA think that they can get away with murder?
They portray to the world that they are victims of catastrophic injustice from Mr Big Bully China, but is it not just a simple case of ‘what goes around comes back around’ when they bully their very own people?
As the body representative of a country whose name, Tibet, is almost synonymous with Buddhism, and hence peace and compassion, this article highlights that the CTA promote anything but that!
With no disrespect to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, lets take a simple quote that has been re-quoted by millions of people many a time: “Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.”
So. In the case of Dorje Shugden practitioners being able to practice what they choose, WOULD THIS NOT BE A GOOD TIME TO SHARE WITH ANTI-DORJE SHUGDEN PRACTITIONERS SUCH A SIMPLE YET PROFOUND TEACHING EXPOUNDED BY THYSELF, HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA?
Lets take another quote: “It is necessary to help others, not only in our prayers, but in our daily lives. If we find we cannot help others, the least we can do is to desist from harming them.”
The CTA needs to reassess their modus operandi to follow suit with what the head of the Tibetan spiritual community preaches. This article is rich with proof and evidence that they are doing anything but that.
But then again, it seems as if the CTA has already chosen their real master:
“Where ignorance is our master, there is no possibility of real peace.” – Dalai Lama

Thank you for posting such a fantastic article with so many evidences showing Shugden practitioners being discriminated in India as well as other part of the world.
Saying there is no Dorje Shugden ban is definitely a big and stupid lie. If CTA still thinks they can continue using this to earn empathy from the world in order to get financial support, it only shows that either they are living in thier own uncivilized world or they are insulting others IQ in general.
Majority of the world population now can access to the internet easily. With so evidences showing that CTA is contradicting themselves, sooner or later, even Tibetans who use to put so much hope in them will start to lose faith in CTA and even HHDL.
I hope more people will share this article to the world. Not only it will help to clear many doubts, I believe it will also contribute in lifting Dorje Shugden ban that has caused so much sufferings in those innocent practitioners.
Thank you.

How can all these clear evidences, video and pictures lie? How can anyone ignore this and dare claim that there is no such thing as a ban on Dorje Shugden practitioners?
When I see so many thousands of Tibetans act so angrily and attacking the monks of Dokhang, this is really a disgrace to the Tibetan leadership, society and Buddhism as a whole as they are a Buddhist nation and His Holiness is preaching religious tolerance, harmony, loving kindness. Why is it that the Tibetans and sanghas not practising this then?
How on earth, or where on earth have we ever heard that you will get a “fine” if you do not join the “protest”. My lord, what is this, sounds like a threat to me.
This is really a sign of the degenerate times where Buddhist clashes with their own brothers and sisters. It reminds me of Buddha’s prophesy that Buddhism will destroy itself. So shameful, really we must bring this ban down that goes against our human rights law and freedom!

Its very disturbing to come across these pictures and videos of how the office of H.H Dalai Lama are actually behind the attacks on the practitioners of DS. A Nobel prize winner, a world peace ambassador, and a monk is behind these violent attacks? Oh i really can’t believe it. But seeing all the evidence listed down by dorjeshugden.com, there is no way anyone can deny the crimes committed.
Why stop at Dorje Shugden? Why don’t H.H. Dalai Lama exercise ban on ALL devil worshippers, cults, witches and Satanism? Aren’t these the bad people that is harming the harmony of people, family and community?
I beg the International Human Rights Organization to look into these crime against humanity. I beg The Nobel Foundation Rights Association to remove Dalai Lama’s title, and he does not deserve any of these honors as the Dorje Shugden ban contradicts the peace prize he had received.
Instead of inciting violence and enforcing needless religious bans on Dorje Shugden, shouldn’t you, the Dalai Lama and the CTA do more for the welfare of the Tibetan people like education standards, healthcare and general social welfare of the people.

There is so much evidence to show that Dorje Shugden Practitioners are excluded and discriminated from the Tibetan Administration but they still deny that there is no such ban. If there is no such ban, please ask all the monasteries to remove their discriminatory clauses in their forms and welcome all devotees of Dorje Shugden into the monastery and community. Violence is incited everyday in the community but they are ignorant of the situation.
So, to say that they do not know why the protestors are protesting against religious freedom in USA is absolutely absurd. And to claim that Religious Freedom is well and alive in their communities are nonsensical. The video clearly shows the violence that occurred.
The Dalai Lama’s message (or so called threat) states that the situation will get worse for them is very disheartening for Tibetans to swallow cos you would expect your leader to protect you, however this is contrary to the exact situation.

Obviously the organisers (local Tibetan representative) of the violent riot were none other than the puppet of Dalai Lama. How could they incite villagers, monks and nuns to attack the shugden practitioners and yet they claim themself buddhist ?
Put aside the ban which is already ridiculous but the so call Nobel Prize winner Dalai Lama did not voice out to stop all this violent attacks ? Even with all the evidence that can easily found on the internet , he still deny it all ? Well , The CTA wouldn’t dare to do anything if dalai lama disallow them . No wonder tibetan government lost their country ~
Dalai lama and CTA , shugden practitioners are suffering and the world is watching . Stop this now and release the shameful ban !

I was so surprised when I heard Dalai Lama says He fully support the actions of expelling dorjee shugden practitioners from the monastery (6:16) and he knew that those actions were done violently which contradicts the practice of compassion. I really do not understand how could words from the mouth of a world influenced spiritual leader is so confusing?
It’s said that anyone who develops that Great compassion becomes automatically an emanation of Avalokiteshvara, and the physical emanations is the line of Dalai Lamas, but how come he encourages violence? What is the qualification of earning a Nobel Peace prize seriously? I think this ridiculous ban and the events related should just stop already, please. The reason people practice spirituality is to seek for solace. Why make our life so difficult when all we want is just a peace of mind?

The past 18 years, what CTA done for his own community? In my impression, except suppress the Dorje Shugden practitioner, created a lot of violence incident among the communities, created disharmony among Sangha communities and so forth, I really didn’t see much it’s contribution for his own country and citizen.
I no idea what HHDL want to achieve? The strong words came out from HHDL, I feel it is illogical, unreasonable and also inhumanity. Buddhism cultural never allowed violence, as a spiritual leader of Tibet, how can he allow this happen again and again in his own country?
Why HHDL still talked about Dorje Shugden is a demon and harmful, don’t he know that his own Gurus all is the DS practitioner with strong faith? A lots of evident had proved that DS is manifested by Manjushri Buddha, why still continuing lying?
I feel very upset is why as a Buddhist we can harm each other by violence? Why CTA didn’t protect his own people who in suffering? Why CTA didn’t stopped this unnecessary riot happened? What is CTA do actually? Are they leading their country into a violence war spot….?? What wrong of the DS practitioner? Why CTA always give them troudble? Aren’t they are also part of Tibet or CTA? Can HHDL or CTA answer me?

I heard from a Tibetan friend somewhere in the year 2002/2003 of this violent incident. This friend said he was in the thick of the action where he and other Tibetan lay people rallied together to the aid of the monks in Dokhang Khamtsen. He said there were thousand of Tibetan lay people and monks who were protesting against the practice of Dorje Shugden after the Dalai Lama spoke out openly telling the monks and Tibetan people to stop the practice. These protestors armed themselves with sticks, batons, knives and whatever lethal weapons and tried to invade the peaceful grounds of the khamtsen. They threw stones, bricks and whatever they could lay their hands on at the monastery injuring some monks inside the compound. Did the monks inside the monastery react violently? No, they were inside their khamtsen gompa performing pujas (as shown in the video). It is appalling to watch those lay people and monks and nuns behaving like soccer hooligans against a small group of 600 peace loving monks, who just wanted to continue learning and practicing the dharma. And be left in peace with their practice of the Enlightened Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden.
In defence of the monks and themselves, my friend and other sympathizers had to use whatever things they could find for defence and formed a human barricade to prevent those invaders from entering the khamtsen compounds. There were skirmishes and injuries suffered by some monks in the khamtsen even with the Indian police’s presence to control the situation. I cannot recall if there was any fatality. My friend said that incident would not have happened if not for the strong words said by the Dalai Lama against the practice of Dorje Shugden. I agree with my friend.
I am so glad and I rejoice that those brave people in California have staged many protests against the ban, calling upon the Dalai Lama to stop lying during his state visit. That is what I call a peaceful demonstration, NOT the one shown in the video here. What is the Dalai Lama talking about that’ no one harming others?’ I see it with my own eyes in this video and I heard it from my Tibetan friend who was present during the attack of the monks in Dokhang Khamtsen. The Dalai Lama said he thinks ‘it is rumors.’ What? The video was a movie for commercial purpose? Since Dalai Lama said he later realized the practice of Dorje Shugden was wrong, it means he did not have any attainments prior. And now after claiming his teachers were wrong, Dalai Lama is claiming that he got some sort of attainments by himself, not from his teachers nurturing and teaching him the dharma. So now, we have a new lineage, Dalai Lama Lineage?
All it takes is for the Dalai Lama to say it is alright to continue with the practice and everything will revert to where it used to be before the ban. But the Dalai Lama refused.

Thank you for this wonderful post. The video and all the pictures are the evidences of THE BAN. CTA not only encourage violence, they are contradicting Buddhism practice of compassion.
I was surprised to hear HHDL actually said that he rejoices that monks kicked out of the monasteries because they practice Dorje Shugden, how can he said that?
The shocking part came later when HHDL firmly said that his guru was WRONG, how can his guru be wrong and he can be wrong too!
We should share this article whenever we confronted by someone who claims to no ban.

Thanks for posting up so much evidence of the ostracization and violence towards Dorje Shugden practitioners. CTA must really stop lying and thinking that they can get away with their archaic and inhumane acts. It doesn’t help CTA with their political agendas when they try to garner support in developed countries such as the USA.
The last thing developed countries want is to support institutions with bad publicity especially when they are doing things against human rights, specifically, religious freedom. I noticed there are many news reports on the protestors when the Dalai Lama visited USA. The news wrote about the ban on Dorje Shugden which infringes on religious freedom.
The truth will always prevail. There are just too many evidences of the ostracization and more people will protest. The more CTA tries to deny it, the more foolish they will look which translates to eventually no more support from developed countries. I hope that CTA will wake up and make better and wiser choices.

It is really sad to see situation like this, what a monk suppose to do? to do their spiritual practice? To study their Dharma? Or to involve in the riot and create disharmony? What a shame being a monk and doing all these instead of focus in their practice and to benefit others.
I really don’t understand what the Dalai Lama is talking about, with such evidence of the video taken, he still claimed no one gets hurt, no violence, then what about the monks throwing bricks in the video clips at 2.58 minutes? That’s call peaceful protest?
The best part is the so call ‘Devil’ practitioner, they are quietly doing their prayers in the prayer hall and not fighting back. So what are they doing? Casting out the disastrous spell to harm the protesters? I serious don’t get this right. The whole thing just doesn’t sound logic to me.
Besides all these, there are so many signs all over showing the ban of Dorje Shugden practice, boycotting the practitioner, and so many more harms towards the Dorje Shugden practitioner.
I don’t believe in what people say, I don’t believe what other people write, I only believe on what I see, what’s happening. The convenience of internet today makes us very easy to find information, the truth cannot hide.
What I can say and what I only believe is the over 300 years of practice is not a lie, the many Highly attained lamas who practice Dorje Shugden and yet, they reincarnate back to this world cannot be a lie. If people who practice Dorje Shugden and they become a better person, that is Spiritual practice. That is the real practice.
Please let them free to believe in their own practice, to do their own practice. Please stop all these Dalai Lama and do as what you represent – The Buddha of compassion, Chenrezig. That’s you, be compassionate to these poor monks who just wanted to practice what they believe in peace. it’s not difficult, and it’s suppose to be like that.

This is totally unacceptable the local representative of Dalai Lama organise this violence protest against harmless DS practitioners at the compound of renown monastery that practising compassion and wisdom.
LIFT THIS BAN to stop creating harm to others. Pls stop letting those future dharma practitioner to have doubt about buddhism. Due to CTA and Dalai Lama wrong action, causing millions of people suffering. Shame shame CTA and Dalai Lama.

How can one say that his Guru is wrong?! Especially hearing the words direct from H.H.D.L. The whole ban is a clear contradiction to every word H.H.D.L and CTA are saying. What happened to Guru devotion? What happened to H.H.D.L clairvoyance? Can H.H.D.L really say that his guru and all their gurus were wrong? Can H.H.D.L really say hundreds of practice by many consider high tantric practitioners, scholars, teachers, monks were all of the sudden wrong? Can H.H.D.L suddenly say that Setrap or any other Buddha/Protector were wrong? Seriously, how can it be that after so many generations of teachers to students to teachers to students impose a ban and say that all of them were wrong. It doesn’t make sense!
This is clear hard evidence that the CTA has been manipulating everything and has been using violence to surpress Dorje Shugden practitioners. Their lies have been uncovered!
Initiating a large scale of a mob to attack on Dokhang Khangtsen and lie about it and cover up the violence is pure ignorance, it contradicts their pursuance in Buddhism which one of the aim is the practice of compassion. It is really shocking for me to see Buddhist “practitioners” to attack another monastery with stones and bricks and even nuns throwing curse actions. Already anticipating for casualties by arranging an ambulance is baffling to all my knowledge of what practicing compassion is about, when it is their clear intent to hurt someone seriously, I find it quite evil.
I don’t quite understand the audacity of these people in the video, instigating such violence on peaceful monks whilst praying. I understand their guru devotion for H.H.D.L but if you want to follow by stopping the practice of Dorje Shugden there shoudn’t be for you to surpress in other peoples beliefs and religious practice, there shouldn’t be a need for you to ostracize practitioners from medical assistance, food and services. Where does the practice of compassion in Buddhism come from if you exclude Dorje Shugden practitioners from hospitals but still accept a criminal who has commited murder.
If one really truly believes in the power of H.H.D.L then there shouldn’t be a worry for Dorje Shugden practitioners to continue their practice that it “may” hurt H.H.D.L. You can clearly see through years of record from the beginning of the ban till the current, not one Dorje Shugden practitioner or protest has resulted in violence. Yet after years of suppression we have continued to practice peaceful, ask for religious freedom peacefully, received hurtful slanders, curses and even physical attack yet we continue to strive for religious freedom to lift the ban. Not one Dorje Shugden practitioner has lifted their hand to convey their argument, yet the CTA continues to suppress all of us.
The world needs to know about this! The public needs to understand the REAL situation going behind the ban! Everyone needs to realise the life Dorje Shugden practitioners has had to endure till this date since the ban! This article shall be the movement of lifting the ban!
I thank all who have been associated to this website, this article, this truth. The world needs to hear the truth, CTA needs to know we won’t back down, H.H.D.L needs to know we won’t give up our practice. We are not here to threaten, we are not here to create violence or hurt anyone, all we want is religious freedom to practice in peace!

Michael George I really liked when you said:
“What I can say and what I only believe is the over 300 years of practice is not a lie, the many Highly attained lamas who practice Dorje Shugden and yet, they reincarnate back to this world cannot be a lie. If people who practice Dorje Shugden and they become a better person, that is Spiritual practice. That is the real practice.”
It really makes sense that in Buddhism we believe in reincarnation, and that our karma is what leads us to our next lives. It truly makes sense that all of H.H.D.L teachers has reincarnated whom were all Dorje Shugden practitioners. How can it be for someone so highly attained practice Dorje Shugden all their lives still be able to reincarnate and still be consider a highly attain being. Obviously there is nothing wrong with practicing Dorje Shugden except that it is good to practice Dorje Shugden.

This incredible article, with undeniable evidence in pictures and the video, shows, without a shadow of a doubt, how the CTA have willfully organised violence against Shugden practitioners.
i cannot imagine how nuns could actually go overboard in support of the riot. If not for the Indian police, the riot would have gone so out of hand that the Dokhang Khangsten monks(who had been engaging in a peaceful retreat when the riot broke out) would have been so badly beaten up and the Monastery would have been smothered in flames.
3000 monks, nuns and villagers descended on the Dokhang Khangsten monks with rocks and bricks. They were bent on inflicting great harm. They had been instigated and provoked by the Tibetan leadership to force the Dhokhang Khangsten monks to stop their Shugden practice.
In their frenzy, they even assaulted the police.who had to fire 2 warning shots into the air and spray teargas to disperse them. This was followed by a 46 hour curfew!
In the face of this overwhelming evidence, how can the Dalai Lama say “There is no violence!.I think rumours! No single record of violence!”
Thank you dorjeshugden.com for presenting such incredibly convincing evidence of the violence inflicted on Shugden practitioners, who are carrying on a 300 year-old practice out of great faith and Guru Devotion.
How can Tibetans and others who do not know about this ban or the ugly side of the ban, continue to buy into the lie that there is no ban or that there is no violence following the ban.?

A Buddhist believes in karma yet in the video you see monks causing harm on another, planned an attack and even plan on preparing an ambulance ready full knowledge that they are there to cause harm. If one believes practicing Dorje Shugden is bad then they do not have to worry about anything, as long as they do not practice why try to harm those that do. Harming another living being creates bad karma even the intent and thought of harming another has its implications of bad karma. If we (Dorje Shugden practitioners) practiced peacefully we do not harm anyone, but anti-dorje shuden protestors hurt, suppress those that do what does it say about them about being a true Buddhist. All we want is religious freedom, not to put down H.H.D.L.

Wow, because of the ban and the protest, so many monks and lay people had created such heavy negative karma for themselves as their intention looks like it was to hurt the sangha who practises Dorje Shugden. What a pity. So sad that the unity of Tibetan people has broken apart because of this ban.
Anyways, quoting from the article, it is funny to read that “many anti-Shugden supporters have since gone on the record stating that they do not know what the protests are about because the Tibetan leadership have never banned the practice of Dorje Shugden”.
Take a brief visit to the Dalai Lama’s official website (http://www.dalailama.com/messages/dolgyal-shugden/atpd-resolutions), and you would find within, under the “Dolgyal” (derogatory term used by CTA and His Holiness to refer to Dorje Shugden) section, a Resolution that was issued in June 1996 titled “The Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies’ Resolutions”. Within this resolution, it clearly states against the practise of Dorje Shugden through examples of the following clauses:
1. “In the interest of Buddhism and the Tibetan national cause, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has openly advised against the propitiation of Shugden. On behalf of the Tibetan people, both in and outside Tibet, the Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies would like to express our thanks and gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and make a pledge that we will abide by his every advice.”
2. “In sum, the departments, their branches and subsidiaries, monasteries and their branches that, al are functioning under the administrative control of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile should be strictly instructed, in accordance with the rules and regulations, not to indulge in the propitiation of Shugden. We would like to clarify that if individual citizens propitiate Shugden, it will harm the common interest of Tibet, the life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and strengthen the spirits that are against the religion….”
Aren’t the above two clauses already strong enough evidence to prove that there is a separation, that there is a ban against the practise of Dorje Shugden, because anyone who goes against the Dalai Lama’s wishes is going against law. Being a world renown leader in Tibetan Buddhism, and the head religious figure of Tibet (and ex-political leader), since the Dalai Lama has advcised against the propitiation of Dorje Shugden, isn’t it an unspoken law that no one should break? If there was really religious freedom within Tibet and for Tibetan Buddhist practitioners, then why have a section within the Dalai Lama’s OWN website against Dorje Shugden. It is inciting and quite an obvious rule that no one should practise Dorje Shugden. So what is the CTA and anti-shugden supporters going on about and stating that there is no ban when clearly, everything that has been done and said by His Holiness and the CTA points to that direction.
Further to that, another resolution was passed unanimously on 17 September, 1997. Lets take a look at some interesting clauses, for instance:
1. The joint disinformation campaign of China and a small number of Shugden activists should be challenged within the framework of law
2. Efforts should be made to challenge the Shugden activists’ campaign to intimidate and deceive non-Shugden practitioners, and that the victims should be provided security and legal protection
3. Particularly in the Three Great Monastic Universities of Sera, Gaden and Drepung, the restriction on Shugden practice should be kept up; Wherever the restriction has not been adequately enforced in any quarter of a Monastic University, the abbots, lamas, bureaucracy and scripture teachers should be asked to discourage the practice; support should be given to ordinary monks who are forced to violate the monastic discipline through use of intimidation and threat by Shugden activists
With regards to the above three clauses, by “challenge” what does the resolution mean? Challenge is subjective, and anyone can challenge through violence, harm, hurt, etc. If I, as an Anti-Shugden activist reads this resolution, and would like to challenge the a Shugden’s activists campaign, it is open for me to use intimidation, violence, harm and hurt in my hopes to stop them under the impression that I am playing it right by following His Holiness’s staunch advice against the practise. In addition, what law does the CTA have? What laws has been set when it is so obvious that violence is acceptable, as shown in the video. So it is vague and pretty open as to what a Anti-shugden activist can do to “challenge” the pro-shugden camp. Therefore, it is not surprising that such a riot and protest took place at Dokhang Khangtsen WITHIN the monastery grounds itself.
4. Recognition should be given to those who followed Shugden in the past out of ignorance, but have now given up the practice; efforts should be made to ensure that they do not suffer as a result of having given up the Shugden practice
5. Efforts should be made to ensure that Shugden practitioners do not receive tantric teachings and Sothar teachings/vows;
The above clauses in the resolution is pure discrimination against a Dorje Shugden practitioner. If there was religious freedom, and I CHOSE TO PRACTISE DORJE SHUGDEN, then I should too be entitled to receive teachings and vows. Why is it that because I practise Dorje Shugden, I cannot receive tantric teachings and Sothar teachings/vows? It is clear that there is discrimination, and behind this discrimination is a ban on the practise of Dorje Shugden in which they are now apparently ignorant of?
Most of all, even on His Holiness’s own website, it states that “….However, since he (His Holiness) personally feels strongly about how negative this practice is, he has requested those who continue to propitiate Dolgyal not to attend his formal religious teachings, which traditionally require the establishment of a teacher-disciple relationship.”
As a result, it is obvious that the violence from the protest and riot is caused by the Tibetan leadership, because they are the lawmakers, and they are the ones which the people look up to and listen to for advice. So if the stand against Dorje Shugden has been made so strong and clear by the Tibetan leadership and His Holiness, there is a direct link in them behind this organized violence. And if as His Holiness claims there is no violence, then why didn’t he stop the riot and protest then, being the head religious figure and watching monks break their vows through their participation in the protest. Why didn’t His Holiness do anything to stop the riot and protest. If there is no ban, Why didn’t the CTA step up to protect the Shugden practitioners, who are their people too.

@Rihanna, your comment is very funny but interesting as well. Well, so where do these funds go to? How about printing worthless books like ‘Opening the eye of discernment’ which ended up in the trash can?
I view this whole issue about the ban as something that was created by the people due to their plain ignorance. Just like a person that do not know anything about art will never appreciate Picasso, an ignorant fool that knows nothing about the political, spiritual and morale breach that the ban has caused has resulted in this situation.
The more I think about the ban, the more pissed off I get with the CTA. The CTA shows nothing but their incompetence as a governing body for the Tibetans. A governing body that listens to a religious leader over the hundreds of thousands, or millions of people that wishes to practice DS shows us they have no leadership and will not protect their people even when it comes to internal turbulence. How can a governing body that thinks nothing of their people lead them to independence or greater autonomy (as HHDL said)?
Obviously the CTA is unable to do that much for their people and their lost country. And it is not surprising because the NEVER WANT TO TAKE THE LEAD. Everything they have done is solely reliant to HHDL. From gaining international support, finances, dialogue, and even HHDL have to be the buffer for the Chinese’s hate… you don’t see the China hating the CTA as much as they do HHDL. They only know how to USE HHDL, and because they wish to continue to use HH instead of governing the Tibetans properly, they will submit to any rule HH makes.
For all you know, the ban is a test to the CTA by HHDL… if they manage to overcome this hurdle, then perhaps they will be able to set foot in Tibet once more… if they cant be a good governing body, then it’s better to leave Tibet in the hand of China. Despite all the riots and discontentment with the Chinese ruling in Tibet, the Tibetans in Tibet is probably living a much better life than if these CTA people were to govern over them.
Some people may wonder, what’s the big deal if the CTA is following HHDL’s advice in everything? Well, lets see… you have the problem with religious rights issue? Take for example if the Pope said you cant pray to Mother Mary, yeah some people may agree and support the pope, but some may not agree and decide to form another group that continues to pray to Mother Mary. But because the Pope is not politically involved, he can’t force the government to excommunicate people from society, he cant enforce laws that require all their citizens to renounce those that do not comply to his wishes, he cant make people reject those that do not listen to him from services such as buying groceries or even getting medical treatment. That’s the difference.

All the while, because of the Dorje Shugen practicing Tibetans do not follow the instructions of Dalai Lama, CTA keep using his power, they are in grip of power, they becomes rude and arrogant and cause harm to the Dorje Shugen Practitioners. The evident shown in this article strongly telling us CTA is the one behind that who implement the polices to split the monasteries, communities, families, teachers. Are they Buddhist? Obviously they do not follow Buddha teaching.
CTA gives hope to the Tibetans, they draw big pictures, and Tibetans believe them. However over the years, CTA found their target is more and more difficult to reach, so to convince Tibetans, they have use Dorje Shugen is an excuse for they are failure. Tibetans should re-exam what is CTA doing and not to involve of this controversy. Helping to lift the ban down, and protest the CTA to use Dorje Shugen as an excuse not to taking care of your own well-being.

Thank you DorjeShugden.com for sharing this video. Now we can see clearly how the monks of Dokhang Khangtsen were badly treated and harmed. This video shows clearly the evidence that what the monks in Shar Gaden shared is true, what DorjeShugden.com shared all these while is true. The Dorje Shugden practitioners are being violently discriminated!
Let’s share and social media this article and video widely so that more people will know the truth. Buddhism is about peace and compassion. Let’s work together to lift the ban!

NOW there can be no denial any more from the Dalai Lama who said his administration does not have any record of the ban and violence on their side. This video is valid proof of DS ban and violence instigated by the Dalai Lama that can be sent to his side for record. The peace image of Dalai Lama will sadly fall away when world medias get to see this video, the evidence of prosecution and human rights abuses on Tibetan Shugden practitioners by him.
So it is true in what China had said the Dalai Lama is a ‘violent separatist’. For this reason China is not interested to hold talks with the Dalai Lama for a self-autonomy rule of Tibet. The Dalai Lama has proven to China they are right. The great divide of the Tibetan community in exile between the Shugden practitioners and non-Shugden practitioners says it all.
I only wish the hypocrisy is not true so the Dalai Lama can remain forever in the eyes and hearts of the world as the peaceful icon and worthy of respect. However, it is not too late as he can rectify the situation by revoking the ban.

This is an excellent article. There are clearly enough evidence that ordained sanghas, lay practitioners and local villagers were seen attacking and mob the Dorje Shugden sangha practitioners, even when they were doing a peaceful puja within their monastery. Luckily local police were there to protect Dokhang Khangtsen sangha in the video. There are also sufficient evidence of signages in the monasteries and declaration forms for sangha to swear that DS practitioners were ban and disallowed into any teachings, shops, hospitals etc.
Also I am most unhappy when the Dalai Lama refuted saying there was NO such violence or mob or riot instigated against Dokhang Khangtsen when it happened right under his nose.
Why didn’t the Dalai Lama tell the non-DS sangha and the lay community NOT to instigate any HARM to DS practitioners and respect their decision and freedom to practice Dorje Shugden? WHY? It is quite clear that the CTA wanted financial support from the rest of the “ignorant” world to look good themselves in the name of religious freedom which they preach and NOT practice. Shame! Shame on them!
We need to share this with the rest of the world of this double standard practice. We do not disparage the Buddhas or the Dalai Lama but we will NOT tolerate discrimination in the name of religious freedom. We want the BAN to be lifted!

The Dalai Lama denies about the ban and prosecution of Dorje Shugden practice. He twisted the accuracy of Dorje Shugden lineage and said his gurus are wrong. When the International Shugden Community(ISC) requested the Dalai Lama to stop lying in the protest both in California and Washington DC recently, the Dalai Lama clique said ISC called Dalai Lama a liar. After watching this video, what would be the most appropriate word to use instead?

Thank you for posting this article and making the video. I find it very hard to believe that this has actually happened but the evidence speaks for itself.
What is striking is that the Dalai Lama himself has said that there would be something like the “cultural revolution” occurring against those who practice Dorje Shugden. There is so much media coverage on the Dalai Lama as the exemplary figure of what Buddhist practice should be that people do not believe this could happen it want to believe it could happen as they have built up an image of the Dalai Lama in their minds. He had stated that what his teacher practices and the teachings he received from them is wrong. This begs the question then what else did he receive that was wrong, if this is truly the case.
I also find it very disturbing that other monks and even the lay women, although Buddhism is steeped in their culture can do such things towards other monks. The practice of Dorje Shugden does not contradict the pratimoksha vows of monk hood, so those who are practicing are still the sangha jewel, and disrespect or I’ll treatment of them surely terminates in the ripened affect of bad karma.
Thank you for sharing this with the world. A lot people think that this issues and the violence against those who practice Dorje Shugden does exist or simply be following what they are told about the issue. This website and this article in particular highlights that this is not the case. The evidence is clear.
illogical ban
March 13, 2014
It is crazy to even claim that there is no ban while there are tons of evidence people have been hurt and suffered from the discriminations. To claim that is no ban is to support violence and in this case against development of love, spirituality and humanity. This is a reverse of becoming civilized. Watching the video it is a shame that even monks and nuns are so desperate to hurt Dorje Shugden practitioners. The Buddha never taught violence but in this case this is totally a non-Buddhist behaviour for the monks, nuns and lay people who participated in the mob.
It is time now that to speak about the ban and discrimination of Dorje Shugden of monks and practitioners. It doesn’t go in accord with Buddha’s teachings. If it is so wrong why not debate it out just like how Buddha did in 2500 years ago. To throw bricks and curse against Dorje Shugden practitioners one is really a coward.
