im a dorje shugden practioner currently living in lhasa
i hate what the dalai lama has done to the tibetan society and my family which has created a lot of friction, this is obvious among worshippers in tibetan society,i would also like to point out that all his false accusations which i am aware of but not the majority of tibetan society ,which are like sheep with no brains they just follw a stupid teacher which misguides them even though he preaches and gossips all nonsense, for instance …he says that shugden followers in tibet are being supported by chinese government bymeans of money,we are not .,i work for my own living without any such support, moreover we practioners have been dicriminated by the society ,why would anyone woship a diety ,because i trust him i belive my instincts and facts,i analyzefacts and debate them in my mind over and over,
the dalai lama has just made it even clearer to me that i shoud be even more devoted to my protecter for when harsh times come then we the true devotion of a devotee,i know that i am not alone ,and so sould all followersof doje shugden, keep your faith no matter what anyone says

“Whatever someone’s religion is, they can still receive education, medical aid, hold jobs within the government, receive identification and travel documents, and have voting rights. They are still allowed to participate in all activities of the country, as equal citizens. However, it is clear that this is not the case in the Tibetan community. This so-called ‘religious choice’ IS NOT democratic.”- quoted from Letter 23
These words really strike a nerve with me, as much as it has with many others I am sure. The conduct of the CTA to mix religious and secular is truly backward mentality. Have they not learn from history where countries have failed as a result of this cross boundary? When a government is unable to draw the fine lines between matters of the state and church, they are not fit to run the country. Religious matters are individual practices and should be given such personal freedom. Whereas secular matters are matters of the state/country and affects, and thus inclusive of, all people of the country. On this scale alone, CTA is backward and not fit as a futuristic government to lead Tibet anywhere.
I will do my part to send this letter to more people!

My two cents: I know wonderful people on both sides of this issue. Every lineage is valid and sticking to your lineage is crucial to spiritual growth. Mixing too many techniques leads to confusion. Christian, Muslim, Jew, Theravadin, Gelugpa, Nyingma, Sakya, Kagyu, Hindu: all valid paths. Just as one penny can force one into another tax bracket, one small positive or negative deed can escalate into lasting peace or a severe crisis. I can imagine that there were many causes and conditions acting on His Holiness the Dalai Lama when he was forced to say what he did about Dorje Shugden. If the Chinese goverment were to set land aside for His Holiness, would they need to make another subdivision like Pakistan for the followers of Dorje Shugden?

Exactly. Having differences does not mean that we need to separate ourselves. It is a choice that we chose to practice our religion according to its beautiful tenets of wisdom and compassion. For centuries we have existed in difference and were quite accepting of each other. Its only those with narrow minds or strong self cherishing minds that create the cause for the differences to be highlighted and fought senselessly about. With Dalai Lama’s words, CTA went full force to create so much sufferings for the Dorje Shugden practitioners and for what? Just to divert attention from themselves in their failed promises of returning to Tibet. Ironically, CTA practices everything that they accuse China of, the tyranny, the suppression, the abuses, etc. Funnily those sponsors of CTA are quite the blind followers, unless of course they have their agendas for using the Dalai Lama and CTA. Oh wait! There is one that is excusable I guess, Robert Thurman does have a glass eye……Hmmmmm but character, well, he supports Soygal Lakar the sex predator. 😱
