Why is the Tibetan government arguing about petty things again?

Kagyu MP Tenpa Yarphel (left) has been causing quite a stir during the most recent Tibetan Parliament sessions. He said that His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s private office were wrong to present an award to MP Dawa Tsering (right) who has been accused of corruption. His remarks led to a walkout of the majority of parliament. What kind of mature government walks out of parliament just because one of their leaders is criticized in this manner?

By: Kay Beswick

As yet another session of their so-called Parliament draws to a close, Tibetans are yet again having to deal with news that their political representatives have embarrassed them. An article on Phayul covers this incident, and it reflects how petty the so-called Tibetan Government in Exile really is. The article tries to paint a picture of a government that is modern, wide-thinking and important. However, an objective analysis of the issues that elicit the most emotional response from these members of parliament (MPs) strongly suggests otherwise.

What were the most hotly-debated issues within this Parliamentary session?

  • An award that Kagyu MP Tenpa Yarphel felt was given to the wrong person
  • Property that an MP Dawa Tsering has been accused of running as a private enterprise
  • Over-reliance on gods and deities like Nechung for advice regarding state, political and secular decisions

Do these sound like the markers of a mature government, or the concerns of a small-minded and narrow-thinking leadership? In fact, when MP Tenpa Yarphel said that His Holiness the Dalai Lama‘s private office gave an award to someone accused of corruption, it resulted in a walkout of the majority of MPs. What kind of government walks out when an MP raises such a topic? No global government would ever consider doing such a thing; imagine if the British Parliament staged a walkout if one of the MPs spoke about leaders of the Anglican Church! Most of the subject matters discussed by the Tibetan ‘government’ in exile are petty, self serving and very small scope. It reflects their mentality and the core reason why they can never get their country back. How can the petty Tibetan parliament reach out and deal with a superpower such as China to negotiate a mutual good result in respects to Tibetans and Tibet? It has been 60 years and no results and no progress. China has firm grip on Tibet. The Tibetan government in exile has clearly failed and failed in totality.

It is very clear that members of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA; Tibetan leadership in Dharamsala) are only concerned about issues related to their own interests, which have nothing to do with their country or the Tibetan people. When it comes to topics about their people, you never hear of it in the news and more often than not, you might even see some MPs asleep in parliament because they are so disinterested. For example, why not discuss the matter of press and media freedoms, or religious freedoms for Dorje Shugden practitioners, or equal representation for the Jonangpas in Parliament?

Furthermore, any objections, especially those about the Dalai Lama, cannot be raised and when any attempt at transparency is made, Tibetan leaders are unable to handle it and have to physically remove themselves from the environment, just like petulant and impulsive children unable to control their emotions. Is this the kind of leadership that the Tibetans really want to be in charge of their political and social futures? This is something that every Tibetan man, woman and child must ask themselves and even though the answer may not be a pretty one, it will at the very least be the truth. And the truth is, for the sake of Tibetan unity and the people, it really is high time for some political changes in Dharamsala. The Dalai Lama is a God King and beyond any blame, mistakes or questioning. Whatever he commands is followed to a tea without dispute. No one is allowed to debate, question or even consider another route. This has been the status quo since the 5th Dalai Lama till now for four hundred years of the Dalai Lama’s ‘dynastic’ rule. No other leader was allowed to replace the Dalai Lama and it is the same now in the 21st century. The Dalai Lama is an avatar of the God of Compassion according to the ordinary Tibetans and therefore cannot be wrong. The Parliament and Prime Minister Lobsang Sangye actually has no power. The full power lies in the hands of the Dalai Lama. So if anyone questions the Dalai Lama or his private office, people must show support they will not entertain this type of questioning as it can lead to your dismissal or your reputation being ruined hence the walk out. No one can question the Dalai Lama. Tenpa Yarphel has tried to question the Dalai Lama’s private office which is hitting it close to home and look at the results. Tenpa Yarphel is honest, courageous and dares point out things that are not right. Let see if he will be branded a Tibetan spy as other Tibetans are who displease the leadership. Let’s see if Tibetan politics will be mature enough to handle questioning by patriotic people like Tenpa Yarphel or resort to serfdom again.

  1. Yes, it is Nechung Kuten’s fault for the Dorje Shugden ban. It was the Kuten-la that spoke to the ears of the Dalai Lama and convinced him to ban Dorje Shugden. We should abolish Nechung Kuten from TIbetan CTA affairs.

  2. MP Tenpa Yarphel is a strong, honest and brave person to speak out the truth in Tibetan society. Tibetans usually do not treasure honesty in public and rather keep things hush-hush for the sake of ‘peace’ or the uncomfortable status quo. Tenpa is truly wanting change in the corruption and lies the Tibetan exiled government otherwise known as CTA has been spouting. The bad human rights abuses and practices by the CTA against their own citizenry is outrageous. Very little is known outside Tibetan circles but it is leaking out more now. CTA is a mostly a group of people who are opportunistic and self serving. I’ve lived in Dharamsala over ten years and know the Tibetan CTA very well. 😖

  3. How petty and hypocritical can the Tibetan leadership get? When a Kagyu MP Tenpa Yarphel spoke up in a parliamentary session against the private office of HH Dalai Lama for giving an award to an MP Dawa Tsering, who has been accused of corruption, the majority of the MPs walked out in a show of support for Dawa Tsering and also as a ‘protest’ against Yarphel for criticising HH Dalai Lama. Yet,when issues of importance to Tibet are raised, MPs have been caught on camera showing boredom by falling asleep or even walking out while the speaker was speaking in a parliamentary session!

These MPs are hypocritical, considering that several of them had joined the 140 people who had gathered recently in Paris for the Rangzen International Conference! Wasn’t this a blatant act of going against HH Dalai Lama , who supports the Middle way approach for negotiating with China for freedom for Tibet!

When will the Tibetan leadership think earnestly of the future of Tibet and Tibetans and reopen negotiations with China?

  4. Very sad the only REAL leader the Tibetans produced in the last 60 years is Dalai Lama. Dalai Lama is 82 and how many more years can he ‘lead’ his people in exile and never getting his country back?

Dalai Lama’s policy for Tibet in making friends with western powers and criticizing China is not working out. How do we know? It has been 60 years since Tibetans have been refugees and they still remain ‘refugees’ depending on handouts and free aid and free money. Pathetic.

Losang Sangye is a big degree holder and his degree is not worth the paper it’s printed on. He can do nothing and has done nothing except become ‘close’ friend with Sharling Dhardon. Their ‘closeness’ is the talk of all Dharamsala.

Losang Sangye and any ‘leader’ will not have real power but simply the puppets of the all powerful god king Dalai Lama who is the real power behind the throne.

  5. If it was not for Buddhism, no one would listen to the Dalai Lama! The Dalai Lama gives the Kalacakra, gives self help speeches, sermons, prayers, rituals and wears the maroon dress to vast crowds. The maroon dress he wears is really a good marketing method although it is not meant to be. All these Buddhist events is what gathers the crowd to Dalai Lama. If you look at the Dalai Lama himself, besides being a smiley, shrewd and intelligent person, what does he have to attract people? Removing all from him that is Buddhist, what does the Dalai Lama have that is different than any other groups or deposed leaders that the world does not listen to. Dalai Lama owes all this to Buddhism. Therefore he should make harmony within the Buddhist community. How he is segregating certain sects with his rhetoric is dangerous. He is expelling people here clearly due to only a difference in religion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTgYWidYw3U&t=6s I was personally shocked to see this. I have met some Tibetan government leaders in Tokyo and privately they told me, they were also shocked that the Dalai Lama would say this and none of them dare advise him otherwise. They felt after Dalai Lama’s expulsion of people and in such a angry manner, it will not bode well in the future within Tibetan Buddhism which is the basis of his power. You can see in the video how angry the Dalai Lama seems to be. The Tibetan government persons in Japan also mentioned that the Dalai Lama listened to his oracle Nechung’s advice to ban this sect within Buddhism. Dalai Lama relies heavily on this Nechung god taking trance (oracle) for all his moves. Nechung is even summoned in the Dalai Lama’s private quarters to give prophecies: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x62ocw1

It bewilders his followers why Dalai Lama relies so heavily on Nechung when he is suppose to be an avatar of a god Avalokita himself. Nechung is invited to most of his public events to do his dance and prophecies. Many Tibetans such as MP Tenpa Yarphel are not happy and speaking up finally:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIP-vLuTnpw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dB_ISn6eY0Y&t=1688s . The over-reliance on Nechung demeans the Dalai Lama they feel and makes their government backwards. No modern governments consult gods and oracles for every move and if they do, they should not show this publicly. This is not a case of transparency but the Dalai Lama has not trained good advisers skilled in world politics by his side obviously to advise him and uses a god instead. Till now Nechung after 60 years has not proven correct. Nechung has not secured Tibet back. It was in fact in 2012 that Nechung told his monk Dorje Dalai Lama will go back to Tibet very soon, but it has not happened. Dorje is so ecstatic of this Nechung prophecy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIDZLzXIgW8 . The prophecy proved to be wrong again by Nechung unfortunately for Dorje and the rest of the hopefuls.

Losang Sangay is too busy with Sharling Dhardon and this is well known among the Tibetans. Without the Dalai Lama backing him up or promoting him, he is nothing and no one will listen to him. That is why everyone in the ‘Tibetan government’ are careful not to offend or displease the Dalai Lama who is the real power behind the throne. If you displease the king, you will be removed from the limelight and that means no more access to money, perks and foreigners who will give you money. Losang Sangay has made zero progress with talks with China since he ‘took office’. Whatever office that is. This shows his priority is not the Tibetans inside and outside of Tibet but to fill his own pockets before the King passes. Basically milk the cow while he can. Sad but that is the situation!

I posted this ‘pictograph’ here of Sharling and Lobsang floating on the internet when you google. Interesting. I guess the Tibetans are not happy with Lobsang Sangay and Sharling who is really outspoken to her own detriment!

  6. Member of Parliament Tenpa Yarphel is a hero. He is speaking up for free speech and freedom of expression. He is exercising his rights, he is standing up for logical democracy which is the only way forward and not having to contact spirits like Nechung via oracles to make decisions that impact people’s lives. But look how people speak about him in the comments, so rude and nasty. It really represents the Dalai Lama badly as they are supporting Dalai Lama beings so rude: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=if2dFMKIr_8

They say we need to believe in Nechung and follow what he says. But in 2009 Nechung said the Dalai Lama would go back to Tibet and that everyone would be happy. A monk from Nechung Monastery is the one that told everyone about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIDZLzXIgW8. But Nechung was wrong. It has been eight years and this has not happened. The Dalai Lama did not return to Tibet. Nechung being consulted by Tibetan government in exile is backwards. No governments do this in the civilized world.

When people like Tenpa Yarphel speak up and are real patriots of the Tibetan people, they are attacked by other people. In fact people even protest like this man who shaves his hair: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M30NL4hG8oA. People like these are actually protesting against Tenpa Yarphel’s democratic rights and freedom of speech. Tibetans by criticizing Tenpa Yarphel shows they are far from democracy. Besides many of the other Kagyu leaders such as Drigung Chetsang Rinpoche, Drukchen Rinpoche, Karmapa Thaye Dorje all did not say anything against Tenpa Yarphel that represents the Kagyus.

Dalai Lama had said that is his minister of cabinet in the government. Even though it is clear that Nechung is unreliable and a spirit, the Dalai Lama continues to rely heavily on Nechung and other oracles who take trance of spirits. He invites Nechung to all his events and allow him to take trance in centre stage always. In fact the Dalai Lama even calls the oracles to his own private bedroom: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x62ocw1.

These practices show how Tibetan government is run.

  7. It’s strange that whatever Tenpa Yarpel has said about Nechung seems to go over the Tibetan’s heads. They don’t see the logic and the fact that consulting Nechung has brought nothing but trouble for the Tibetan cause and Tibetan social harmony.

  8. It is a joke that Tibetans in exile depend on CTA and its members to deliver anything to them or for them.

“Tibetans” are being used to get donations to enrich the pockets of the CTA. Accused of corruption, walk out and no need to be answerable.

Brave of MP Tenpa Yarphel to question Dawa Tsering but no effect.

  9. The immature government resulted the failure of the Tibetan leadership to bring back Tibetan back to their homeland and also failed to take care of their people welfare. It has been long 60 years and looking at how they act in the Parliament session, it’s a prove of their failure.

If the Tibetan still count on CTA for hope of better future it’s going to be a joke or rather a false hope. CTA will only use Tibetan for gaining donation for their own. CTA has billions of fund but we didn’t see any changes in Tibetan welfare until now. CTA use Dorje Shugden ban to cover their failure to keep their promise to bring Tibetan back to Tibet and use violence and harassment to divide Dorje Shugden practitioners. Where on earth you see a leader that already lost their country and further divide their people. At one hand CTA ask for freedom and the other hand CTA discriminate their own people just because they practice Dorje Shugden. It doesn’t make sense and the world is watching CTA silly act here and how would CTA gain support from others for their selfish and corrupted act?

  10. Wow! This is a real eye opener piece. I must say that MP Tenpa Yarphel is really brave to query about the award to Dawa Tsering given the actual “toe the line” rule. Now wonder CTA has so much time on hand to waste. Look at their activities…nothing towards the betterment of their people (to keep them in “poor me” refugee status), nothing towards extending the olive branch for negotiation with China (to remain in the “poor me” being bullied by China) and everything towards sneaky mean actions to cover up their failures (ban on Dorje Shugden practice to distract Tibetans from questioning “why are we no closer to returning to Tibet”). Finally the effects of previous Feudal system of rule in Tibet is wearing off after 60 years of exile and someone dare stand up to question poor decisions. What a refreshing change! Hope the new generations overcome their years of subjugation to be able to think with logic rather than follow the herd.

  11. Parliament in modern politics serves as a formal conference for the discussion of public affairs, especially matters affect the national and people’s interest. To discuss small and petty things in Parliament show the level of maturity of the Members of Parliaments.

It’s definitely narrow minded to discuss on small and petty things in this holy place, but it could be reflected that the MPs are afraid to discuss “serious” things that they might receive criticism or threat for raising “important” issues such as corruption, abuse of power and bias of policies that making the ruling party embarrasses. Too bad for the CTA to have discuss all these issues, how sad the want to control any voices against the group of people in power that making the MPs keep silence even on issues like corruption, abuse of power by authorities and Dorje Shugden ban which do harm to we Tibetan society, not able to stop. Too bad for the Tibetans who entrust them to manage their community.

  12. I pray all Tibetan can unit.

Stop discriminate Dorje Shugden people. Stop corrupt CTA.😠😠😠😠😠

  13. The Dalai Lama is so old and he can pass anytime. Beijing is waiting for that. Beijing has full control of Tibet and nothing to fear. Dalai Lama and his government negotiates with Beijing or not does not matter. It’s a small matter in fact. Tibet will never have another King so powerful like Dalai Lama and so influential.

Actually if Lobsang Sangye was smart, he would do his best to negotiate with China for a better deal for autonomy for Tibet while Dalai Lama is alive. With Dalai Lama alive, he will have more weight and backing. So why doesn’t Lobsang Sangye do so? The reason why Lobsang Sangye does not work hard to negotiate with China is because he does not care about the people. If the Dalai Lama dies, he is rich with big houses and he just moves on. He is in his position for the perks and wealth and US Passport which he has now. So why should he worry?

    😖

  14. Sharling Dhardon and Lobsang Sangay are always together. Very close. They launched the book against Dorje Shugden practice together. Together they can authorized the spending of thousands of US dollars for commissioning a book against Dorje Shugden to further isolate and segregate the Tibetans who continue with their faith in Dorje Shugden. They do this to please the Dalai Lama so their money-making posts will be secure. They only want money.

After the launching of the book against Dorje Shugden practitioners, they went down to Delhi to be at an expensive hotel and delicious five star dinner to enjoy their victory together.

  15. Sharling Dhardon is rich and carries expensive hand bags while her ‘refugee’ Tibetans sell sweaters on the hot Indian streets.

  16. These three MPs from Dharamsala is well known to get money from China to be part of Tibetan exile government and make trouble for Tibetans. They pretend to be close to Dalai Lama but they are close to China.

    2017-10-02_5-07-33

  17. Sikyong Lobsang Sangi just interested in money and perks and the same goes for the ministers in the Tibetan CTA. They are all corrupted and ‘eating’ donations from the West but do close to nothing for the Tibetan pubic. May the Western governments cut or reduce funding to the corrupt government officials.

  18. Tenpa Yarphel is very courageous, he knows fully well his countrymen, the Tibetans in exile.

Due to ‘conflict’ Tibetan(s) can hurt one another also.

So never underestimate the CTA people’s ability to do almost anything for their own selfish purpose.

  19. I find this quote from Benjamin Franklin very apt to describe the decades-old causes which has led to the current disenchantment with the Tibetan leadership in exile.

First they jumped on Dorje Shugden and turned it into a patriot (anti-Dorje Shugden) vs. non-patriot (Dorje Shugden practitioners) war. The false patriots won.

They blamed China for every possible problem facing the Tibetans from global warming to selecting the “wrong” Panchen Lama. The false patriots won.

Then they forced their way into where they did not belong, bought allegiances, installed puppets in monasteries and meddled in the Karmapas. They continued winning the hearts of Tibetans in exile who were only willing to subserviently follow their respective spiritual leaders. The false patriots won.

Then they not so secretly obtained passports, citizenships, homes, donations, women, in advanced and rich countries while denying Tibetans even to hold an Indian passport or have CTA travel documents, basic rights in any country. The false patriots won.

    Real Tibetan patriots, wake up!

  20. Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar is an MP of the CTA and she should immediatly resign and give honor to the disonorable CTA or Central Tibetan Administration in Dharamsala. She is an elected official. She should not fight with the tourists and spectators. If she is going to post things about Tibet, she has accept there will be people who do not accept what she is posting and be ready for opposition but not using violence. If the spectator gets violent, then Ms. Lhagyari should immediately go to the police and run from the scene. The police station is very nearby. Do not stand around and have violent interaction with people walking by. It does not look good as an MP of the Tibetan government in exile under the Dalai Lama. MP Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar is a disgrace and should resign.👎

    👎🙏☹️😣👎🙏

  21. Tibetan parliament MP Ms Lhagyari Namgyal Drolkar attacks Chinese Dalai Lama student.

Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar who is an MP of the Tibetan ‘parliament’ in Dharamsala seems to like to make trouble. She was recently in Paris on an all-expense-paid luxury trip to have meetings against the Dalai Lama’s middle way. They stayed in nice hotels, enjoyed the cafes and went sight-seeing also. She and other independence (rangzen) activists gathered together to have a meeting on how to oppose the Dalai Lama’s middle way. If you are having a meeting on rangzen, then naturally you are opposing the Dalai Lama’s views. She is against the Dalai Lama as blatantly as it can get. She advocates full independence for Tibet which Professor Samdhong Rinpoche the former prime minister said is very dangerous. 🇨🇳Samdhong Rinpoche said clearly that Rangzen activists and supporters are the most dangerous people in Tibetan society. Because they go against what the Dalai Lama is asking the world to support which is autonomy of Tibet under China. Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar is seen in these pictures in October 2017 in Dharamsala fighting violently with a female Chinese tourist from the USA. 😠This Chinese woman Ms. Wen Qi Zhu had just had audience with the Dalai Lama as you can see in the pictures. But when she left the audience after blessings she was affronted by a CTA member Ms. Lhagyari violently on the streets just below the Dalai Lama’s nose. A random video was taken of this event and in the video Ms. Wen Qi Zhu was saying she is also a student of the Dalai Lama. She has also contributed to the donations of the recent teachings by Dalai Lama to cover the expenditure.😡

Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar is an MP of the CTA and she should conduct herself with more decorum and good manners since she is representing the Dalai Lama’s government. Often they are violent. Of course Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar has the democratic rights to post, protest and speak for Tibet in Dharamsala, but she should also be ready for opposition. Opposition even in Dharamsala must be tolerated as it is a democratic India. 👍Some may be shocked someone opposes Ms. Lhagyari’s views in Dharamsala the headquarters of the Dalai Lama, but that just shows you how arrogant some Tibetans may be thinking if you oppose their views, they can violently strike back. Democracy only works for Tibetans so they think and it should not work against them is their convoluted thinking. Many in the audience may not agree with Ms. Lhagyari Namygal Drolkar’s views on Tibet and as an elected official of the Tibetan government, she should be more courteous, polite and explain things well and not resort to a catfight with a paying tourist. After all she is the official and representative of the government. She should educate the masses and not violently fight with them. She should resign as obviously she is not fit for this job.👎 It is a disgrace and shame. After all the paying tourist Ms. Wen Qi Zhu has every right to protest back or speak against the view of Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Drolkar, since India is democratic and allows freedom of speech which goes both ways.👍 Some Tibetans have to learn manners, being polite and accepting that the world is not going to agree with them on everything anymore. Tibetans have to accept their 60 years of playing up the refugee card while living well in India and immigrating all over the world will not gain sympathy anymore. The CTA or Tibetan government in exile have many policies that divide and segregate their own people on the basis of religion so now that they are getting some of their own karma back, why are they upset?🙏

Here is an article on how Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar went to Paris for a rangzen meeting against the Dalai Lama: http://www.dorjeshugden.com/all-articles/news/tibetan-mp-juchen-konchok-and-friends-oppose-the-dalai-lamas-middle-way/

  22. Time to unite Tibetan people with no bias against protector deity or religious inclinations. The Tibetan unity is very crucial now before everything falls apart. If the Tibetan leaders really want to benefit the people, it should start to be more secular and minimize and eventually work towards abolishing religious ruling like that Shugden ban. After all, this is the way of the future and it is what every democratic country in the world today practices.

  23. 政治人物意见不合就开打,互骂,而且是在国会上这么做,这像话吗?统治国家不是在学校玩游戏般这样,真是丢尽国家的脸。

    134da791-71b6-4a25-9b70-7fcd535cfde0

  24. This does not sound like democracy to me. More like children playing a game… Walking out in a group to shut the subject raised being discussed was really uncalled for. They are not fit to represent their people.

  25. You can see for yourself in the comment of this youtube video how ungrateful, greedy and nasty Tibetans are. The Indians are angry and have a right to be angry after hosting the Tibetans for 60 years. Yet instead of being grateful, they lash back. Even calling the Indian students “COMMUNIST CHINA PAID DOGS” and other vulgarities. Very racist. Anything Tibetans don’t like, they call you a China spy or China money eating agent. Even the Indian nationals now are berated as China dogs. No wonder Indians are protesting for Tibetans to go back! This is happening while the Dalai Lama is alive for after he passes, it will completely degenerate and the Indians will take action and expel the ungrateful refugees.

    ungrateful Tibetans

  26. We all know Dalai Lama does not want independence for Tibet but autonomy. All Rangzen fighting Tibetans are going against the Dalai Lama. They are hardcore separatists and most likely taking Chinese money to create schism. The attached Times of India article is very clear what the Dalai Lama wants. Rangzen Tibetans and activists are 100% against Dalai Lama and Tibetan nation.

    HHDLTimes

  27. Tibetans use India. It’s clear that they don’t respect India and are actually very racist. Indians are tired of this now and want them out. Now big protests in the hundreds are happening in Arunachel Pradesh state of India demanding Tibetans go back to Tibet. The people there are tired of the Tibetans and do not welcome them anymore. After 60 years, why are the Tibetans still refugees? If they can go western country, they will go because India is NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE USERS. They put India down. They only stay in India if they cannot go to another country. They never get Indian citizenship because they want foreign citizenship. Shame. In India, they never pay taxes. They never join army to defend India. They never build hospitals, half way houses, orphanages or get money from foreign aid to help India. They never build anything for Indians and we have so many poor Indians in India. Look at the foreigner Mother Teresa how much she did for India and she did so much for Indians in Calcutta but Tibetans do nothing. Not a charitable race. Their Dalai Lama never set up orphanages, schools, soup kitchens for the poor or set up scholarship for Indians. He lived in India for 60 years and give nothing back but take and use Indian land. The Tibetans lived in India for 60 years but they contribute nothing to India. Only complain and Indians are now going to speak up. The SUMAA students said the protests against Tibetans are only beginning and there will be more.

After 60 years how can they still be refugees. They are not genuine refugees. They call themselves refugees and not get Indian passport so their Tibetan ‘government’ in Dharamsala can continue to market them to western countries and Japan to give them money. To get free money. Tibetan leaders love free money. Tibetans have big houses, nice cars and can travel to other countries. The Dalai Lama temples in Dharamsala have gold idols and gold paintings and live in very high luxury. Tibetan leaders already get money in the US billions in aid and yet they never improve. The Tibetans always say they have no opportunities in India. Why they say that? Because they are saying they are too good for India.

They say they want autonomy with China but they fly the Tibetan flag on Indian soil. If they want autonomy, they should fly the Chinese flag and show China government they are serious to sit and talk. They are always lying. They protest against China on Indian soil making problems between India and China. India is not responsible for Tibetans. Tibetans should not make China India’s enemy. Don’t be selfish. China is not India’s problem. Tibetans should solve the problems themselves.

Tibetan leaders only want money, money and more free things. They always make segregation among their people due to regional differences and religion. Look how they supress the Dorje Shugden religion and their own Dorje Shugden Tibetans cannot join in their schools or Dalai Lama’s talks and ceremonies. They treat the Dorje Shugden people like the low castes in India. Their Tibetan people cannot stand up on their own become something because their leaders want everything for free. When they go to western countries, they lose their culture, religion and language and pay a heavy price. Their children become more like the adopted country’s culture and people. Their ‘government’ in Dharamsala block them from getting Indian citizenship so they can continue using their fake refugee status to get money from the west. When India is so generous to give them citizenship, their own Tibetan minister in Dharamsala block this.

Now Indians had enough and want Tibetans to get out and go home!

  28. Within the Tibetan communities in India, there is no free speech and how Tibetans insult each other and would even insult foreigners by calling them Chinese agents just because you speak up and this is suppose to silence you. All of this began with the Tibetan CTA. Nonetheless, there are a handful of Tibetans who had enough and they dare to speak the truth and in this case, Tenpa Yarphel speaks against Nechung and veiled statements about the Shugden ban – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuKOjcpLH8A
And then there are people who would oppose his view by shaving his head. Very silly.

  31. Real refugees vs. Tibetan ‘refugees’. Should India and other countries continue to help Tibetans, the most prosperous ‘refugees’ on earth?

    Refugees

  32. There is NO REAL FREEDOM of SPEECH for us Tibetans living under the ruling of the CTA and Dalai Lama. The Tibetan communities in India all sufer this fate and we live in lies and deception of a FAKE DEMOCRACY.

Just watch how Tibetans insult and backstab each other and would even dare insult people they do not know, calling them Chinese dogs/Chinese spies is the only thing they can say and the label they give you the moment you dare to speak up. This is done to shut you up and to indicate to other Tibetans to attack you because they make you sound like you are a traitor and this is how they get all to turn against you. This is how the Tibetan CTA deals with people they feel threatened. All because of power and position.

However, there are a few brave Tibetans who basically had enough of their deception and begin to speak up, to tell the truth. A good example is Tenpa Yarphel who bravely stood up and talked about Nechung and the inconsistency and FAILED prophesies… also the ridiculous heavy reliance on him for everything. Where on earth do you ever see any government relying on “mystical Gods” to help them make state decisions? Even if they did, they would not dare tell anyone because this is 2017 not the medieval times. Just watch – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuKOjcpLH8A

Then you have the small-minded, sheep like followers, shaving their hair – like WOW big deal, to protest against Tenpa Yarphel. Lololol

  33. Chokyong Nechung is wrong! Nechung in this video said that Dalai Lama is going back to China and that was five years ago? What happened? Why are we even listening to him ever again. He always make mistakes. 😱

  34. Question to Tibetan exile government, Central Tibetan Administration – CTA: Hey this Geshe Dorje interprets Nechung’s prophecy saying the Dalai Lama will go back to Tibet five years ago, but look, Dalai Lama still cannot go back. Watch… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIDZLzXIgW8

Not only that, there is still NO sign of even creating a good relationship for a chance to go back! So we are all stuck and still nowhere near going back to Tibet. So why on earth are we still listening to this spirit Nechung who always makes mistakes and give wrong prophecies? Nechung even killed the 13th Dalai Lama by giving him the wrong medicine. So WHY are we still listening to him for? Why are we Buddhist following what a spirit says? If we can follow Nechung spirit so why condemn Dogyal? This is weird and wrong!

  35. The parliament of Tibetan government in exile is narrow-minded and superstitious. They cannot be considered as a democratic government since they only listen to a retired God King, which is HHDL who in turn listen to the Oracle who takes trance of Nechung.

MP Tenpa Yarphel is very daring to question the reliance on Nechung because by doing so, he is directly challenging the power of HHDL. It would mean that his life is in danger and he will risk his job, position, reputation, and everything, like the others before him.

Yet, without representative like MP Tenpa Yarphel, the people of Tibetans in exile will be shepherded into ignorance and superstitions Hopefully more leaders echo MP Tenpa Yarphel’s example and start bringing important issues that is of national interest into Parliament session.

  36. Lobsang Sangay at Golden Jubilee Celebration of Tibetan Settlement Office, Dharamsala: https://youtu.be/eInTi-E9na8

Losang Sangay said recently (October, 2017) in Dharamsala that Tibetans have two enemies: the outer and inner enemy. The outer enemies are the Chinese government and Dorje Shugden people. The inner enemy is the people who speak against about our Tibetan affairs like regional differences and religious differences. (He didn’t say this directly but he means people like Tenpa Yarphel who spoke up in the Parliament) He said out of the two enemies, the worse one is inner enemies.

Now the Tibetans have started a new Facebook page specifically against Tenpa Yarphel. Tibetans are protesting against him: http://bit.ly/2ysowTH

And, there is a video of Tibetans with Tenpa Yarphel’s name on the paper against him and asking him to resign: http://bit.ly/2zAH2af

  37. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is a a dedicated advocate for the principles of democracy. In September this year, Tibetans in India celebrates 57 years since the establishment of the democratic path in the running of the Tibetan people’s political system. Unfortunately, it’s all lip service.

Look at the recent incident of MP Tenpa Yarphel speaking up in the parliament. Tenpa Yarphel has the right to speak and express his opinion, especially because he is a representative of the people, a Member of Parliament. Instead, he was criticized for issuing irresponsible statements, watch this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuKOjcpLH8A

What is absurd is that there are even people protesting against his opinion, and shaving their hair in protest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M30NL4hG8oA

It’s funny that he was accused of being sectarian, but the truth of the matter is, because of Nechung, Dorje Shugden practitioners were segregated, discriminated and ostracized from the Tibetan community in general all around the world. I guess this MP is sick of seeing the separation and had to speak up for the unity of the Tibetan people in exile.

  39. Tashi Delek! to all my freedom loving friends. To be honest with you, I’m just a Tibetan lay person and i don’t know much about Tibetan deities. My knowledge about tibetan dieties is almost zero.
But as being a buddhist, what i know from my parent is, they were followers of Nechung and Palden Lhamo and i’m following the same deities.

But in democratic society, each one of us has different belief and different mindset and we all must respect different views.

    But my confusion is!
Why Chitue Tenpa Yarphel la was talking something different and insulted Nechung. From my understanding, Nechung Kuten is an offically deities and His Holiness also have close connection with Nechung Kuten.

Let me make it short, Is there anyone who can elaborate more, so we can understand well.
    Thank you in advance!

    Lhaksam Khari Khatu!

  40. Nechung oracle is not reliable. He didn’t help when british tibet in 1904. he gave wrong medicine to 13th dalai lama which caused His holiness’s death. Nechung is a spirit, not a buddha. spirits are dangerous, just like dorjee shugden. that’s why our knowledgable monk tenpa yarphel cautions us against nechung.

  41. What ever!! I pray to palden lhamo and Nyechung whenever I have to face some challenges and I feel good about it. They are my sources of spiritual and psychosocial strength . HHDL is my sunshine.

  42. “when men go desperate, they turn to gods. When gods have no answer , they tell lies ” – by prime minister Lukhangwa. His Holiness has also said in ladakh that he doesn’t have much faith in oracles. Dalai lama also supported Bakdro rinpoche when the later slapped on the face of a female Oracle Youdonma ,saying ” it is right that you slapped her. Sometimes gods are too much. ” So monk tenpa yarphel’s view chimes with his Holiness dalai lama’s.

  43. It is very difficult to agree your prime minister Lukhangwa word because Tibet is a buddhist country since thousands of years and according to my little knowedge, even today, Tibet buddhist wisdom is flourishing all over the world.

Now the question raise automatically that how much depth Tibetan people knows their own culture. One time, one of the Indian scientist ask question to His Holiness, quote “Dear His Holiness, you always talk about science of buddhism and i always fascinated even i’m a scientist and i agreed what ever you said. But one thing i didn’t understood about your connection with Oracles Nechung Kuten. It makes me confusion! as a scientist i don’t believe in Oracles. His Holiness said, that is different level of phenomena and it needs different level of practice to experience that phenomena. His Holiness said, So, thats not your level. His Holiness laughed!

So, from my personal point of view, i think, Chitue Tenpa yarphel’s views are very limited May be, he is lacking deeper level of understanding about buddhist Oracles.

  44. Nechung kuten is very rich more then tibetan govt.Monthly fifteen or twenty thousand what he will do.He give only wrong information.

  45. Tenpa yarphel hero of Tibetan

  46. Waering a red robe n specially being a Tibetan monk. Its a big sin retaliating against his Holiness wat a shame! Tenpa Yarphel shame.

  47. Tenam, don’t speculate based on little knowledge. Don’t teach a monk about dieties.

  48. Such type of chitue like Tenpa Yarphel are misleading Tibetans who dont know much about religion all over the world.

Contemplate This

.…Instead of turning away people who practise Dorje Shugden, we should be kind to them. Give them logic and wisdom without fear, then in time they give up the ‘wrong’ practice. Actually Shugden practitioners are not doing anything wrong. But hypothetically, if they are, wouldn’t it be more Buddhistic to be accepting? So those who have views against Dorje Shugden should contemplate this. Those practicing Dorje Shugden should forbear with extreme patience, fortitude and keep your commitments. The time will come as predicted that Dorje Shugden’s practice and it’s terrific quick benefits will be embraced by the world and it will be a practice of many beings.
