Below are two articles received reviewing the Tibetan leadership’s stance towards applying for Indian citizenship.

In a scathing review of the Tibetan leadership’s latest actions, Mila Rangzen has recounted the Central Tibetan Administration’s (CTA) recent policies towards the news that Tibetans born between 1959 to 1987 will be able to gain Indian citizenship. Of particular concern for him were the struggles ordinary Tibetans will face to get citizenship, and the double standards that exist.

For many people who do not have intimate knowledge of life in the Tibetan settlements under the Tibetan leadership, Mila Rangzen’s account will indeed be an eye-opener. His writings come from the point-of-view of a Tibetan who does not appear to have any allegiances to any religion that he can be accused of bias, who does not have any associations that risk him being accused of being Chinese, and who appears only to be interested in the welfare of his people.

In addition to the points that Mila Rangzen has raised, it is important for people to remember this:

1. When ordinary Tibetans have gained Indian citizenship, they will no longer rely on the CTA for anything, just like Tibetan-Americans, Tibetan-Canadians, etc.

  • So if the Tibetan-Indians have legal disputes, they will deal with the Indian authorities. If they need to renew their passports, they can liaise directly with the Indian leadership. If they need to buy land, it will be done under Indian law. Everything will be done according to Indian law. Tibetan-Indians will deal with Indian authorities, not with the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA, based in Dharamsala).
  • It is the same as Tibetans who become Americans, Canadians, Swiss, etc. who no longer rely on the CTA for anything, and are thus no longer beholden to any of their diktats and policies.
  • Thus when Tibetans gain Indian citizenship, there will be an end to the current procedure of Tibetans going to their leadership first to get approvals for anything they wish to do. As a result, the Tibetan leadership will no longer function as the gatekeeper between ordinary Tibetans and the Indian authorities. And because Dharamsala no longer functions as a gatekeeper, the major reason for their existence will be gone.
  • Obviously this is an eventuality that frightens the Tibetan leadership because their method of governance has been one based on control. Controlling their people’s access to services and their movements has been a financially lucrative operation for a corrupt leadership occupied by people open to bribes and embezzling. Once the CTA no longer controls these Tibetans, it will be a loss of revenue because Tibetans do not have to bribe them to get anything done anymore. The Tibetans will not have to pay their Tibetan taxes, or for fast-tracking their visa applications to travel to the West.

2. Mila Rangzen raised the issue of the CTA being invested in keeping their people poor

  • This aspect of control and subjugation is important, because with the settlements full of poor people, the Tibetan leadership can parade their situation to the West to garner sympathy and money for the ‘poor’ and ‘suffering’ Tibetans. But actually, it is for the CTA to keep the money and use as they like.
  • So instead of encouraging their citizens’ upward mobility, they find it in their interests to keep them suppressed.
  • This explains why the millions of dollars that has been pumped into the Tibetan settlements over the last 60 years has not borne much results. In fact, it was only recently they opened their first public library, and even then it was through the efforts of a private citizen to establish it. And the betterment, big buildings, golden temples, schools, halls and restaurants in the Tibetan settlements were not built with the help of the CTA but from overseas Tibetans and foreign friends donating privately. The CTA did not contribute to those.

3. The CTA has a “divide and conquer” mentality even with their own people

  • It should be illegal that the CTA are kicking people out of Tibetan settlements just because they want to better their lives by becoming Indian citizens.
  • That is saying “if you want to be Indian, there will be consequences” but what is so bad about becoming Indian that you need to be punished for it?
  • What they are enforcing on Tibetans who wish to become Indian citizens is the same as what they did to Dorje Shugden people, by forcing them to split apart. If they are separated, they will have less ability and resources to assemble and protest (it takes more effort to gather people).
  • The real question is, are Tibetans who just want to make a better life for themselves the real enemy here? Do they deserve to be vilified?

4. Another issue that Mila Rangzen’s article raised was that of double standards.

  • Why did Lobsang Wangyal have to fight for citizenship, while others like Gyari Dolma were able to buy 20 years ago? Because they have money and Lobsang Wangyal does not.
  • Why did Tibetan leadership stay silent when one of their citizens went to court to fight for his rights? It is because the leaders do not want to draw attention to themselves as having another citizenship / being in a privileged position. They have to appear humble and in service to the Tibetan people, although this is not the case. Another leadership that does this is in North Korea where leaders present an image of humble living to their people so the community does not suspect inequality, hypocrisy and double standards, and rally to rise up against them.
  • Why did Lobsang Wangyal have to use his own personal funds for fight for the rights of the whole community, when the Tibetan leadership should have stepped in and said or done something to help him? One private citizen fought to set a precedence for his whole community, but it should have been the leadership’s responsibility to do this.

5. Racism and double standards. Anything Western and European is acceptable because of money, and the Tibetan leadership are deathly afraid of doing anything to upset the West because they are a source of money. Simultaneously, anything Indian is trampled upon.

  • That is why US, Australian, Canadian, Swiss citizenships are coveted. There are no consequences to getting passports from the West. You will not get kicked out of the settlements if you have a Western passport, but you will be if you have an Indian one. You will not be stigmatized if you have a Western passport, but you will be if you have an Indian one.
  • That is why Tibetan leaders continue to reap CTA benefits despite being Canadians, Australians, Americans, etc. And Tibetan-Americans, Tibetan Canadians, etc. will never have anything said against them because:
    • They can complain to their respective Western governments who will question the CTA about what is going on, and possibly withhold funding
    • If they push these Tibetan-American, Tibetan-Australian, etc. people too far, they will just throw up their hands and devolve themselves of all connections with the CTA (and the CTA thus has even less control)
  • But the only reason you can get those types of coveted citizenships is because you have money to get there. If you do not, you will have to “settle” for an Indian citizenship.
  • Even still, the Tibetans will face problems getting an Indian citizenship, thanks to their own Tibetan exile government setting up so many obstacles.
  • So the question is – why is it Tibetan leaders can have it easy, but the common Tibetan has to suffer?
  • On top of that, Tibetans are rude to class/treat their hosts as a second rate option in terms of citizenship and even marriage.

Conclusion

  1. Ultimately, the CTA’s motivation is very clear: money, control and power. When will they ever learn their lesson to put their citizens first, and self-interests second? Their self-serving ways have not brought them much success over the last 60 years, so is it not time to try a new and different method?
  2. Despite being elected officials, their behaviour is clearly motivated by spite, both for their own people and their host country. They wish to spite their people by ensuring they remain poor, defenceless and stateless refugees, and they wish to spite India for being kind to their people by blocking any Indian government attempts to help the Tibetans in India. So in reality, the Tibetan people should be upset about the CTA using their people, keeping them down to get free money that they then use to hurt their own community.
  3. The CTA are also creating many obstacles to the high lamas and good lamas who suffer as a result of the Tibetan leadership creating obstacles for them to disseminate the Dharma. The Tibetan leadership will be the death of the Dharma every time they stop Tibetan lamas from getting out of the country to teach and turn the wheel of Dharma.

Tibetan leadership refuses to allow Tibetans to get Indian passport

In a bold and daring move, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) also known as the Kashag, have effectively blocked Tibetans in exile from becoming Indian citizens. A memo issued on July 5, 2017, which was circulated to CTA offices in Tibetan settlements in India, saw the Kashag ordering that Tibetans seeking Indian citizenship are not to be issued No Objection Certificates (NOC), a document necessary in the naturalization process. This move however creates two huge political fall-outs:

  1. The Kashag violated its own charter, which states a Tibetan can seek the citizenship of any other country while at the same time retaining their Tibetan nationality.
  2. It is a slap in the face of India’s hospitality, host country to the Tibetans, who made it legal for Tibetans in India to become Indian citizens if they wish.

At this point, one could ask who actually gives the Tibetan leadership the authority to impose these rules on Tibetans living in India? It is quite simple, it is the Indian government. Without the Indian government, the Identity Certification (Yellow Book) issued to all Tibetan refugees has no power. So it is especially galling that when the Indian leadership says it is okay to give Tibetans citizenship, the Tibetan leadership steps in to say it is not even though they have no power to do soWhy does the mouse try and tell the lion what is acceptable and not acceptable?

So it is important to realize that the CTA’s authority is dependent on the Indian government and on their own, they have no power or influence, just like how paper money is worthless without gold reserves to back it up. It is this same Indian government who is now offering Tibetans citizenship and are in effect threatening the CTA’s hold on their people. As people begin recognizing the benefits of being Indian, they will want to take up citizenship, come under Indian governance (instead of Tibetan) and thus effectively end the CTA who will no longer have anyone to govern.

And of course, as per Tibetan government modus operandi, there has been no further response from the leadership about this when questioned. Instead they have blamed the media for creating problems and refused to be interviewed to clarify matters for the public. And while the media are asking questions in their pursuit of the truth, if they are not careful, they will be shut down just like the Mangtso newspaper was for publishing views that contradicted the Tibetan leadership’s.

What the Kashag have said is that that Tibetan youth should not just think of the short-term benefits of becoming Indian citizens, but of their Tibetan identity. It is their way of discouraging the Tibetan youth from becoming Indian citizens, by emotionally blackmailing them from not taking up an Indian passport. For the most part, the Kashag have been successful and some young Tibetans are insisting that you cannot be Tibetan if you hold an Indian passport. But this is extremely hypocritical since top CTA officials like Sikyong Lobsang Sangay, Dhardon Sharling, and Gyari Dolma are themselves citizens of other countries. What is more, they have lived at least 20-30 years this way; the Tibetan youth have lived as Tibetan refugees THEIR WHOLE LIVES so who is more Tibetan now? So if Tibetanness is measured by the passport one carries, and Tibetanness is the basis of someone being qualified to have an opinion or to lead the community, then by that logic the Tibetan leadership are the least qualified to do anything. Why are they not forced to think about their Tibetan identity and give up their foreign citizenship, unlike other people who want to get an Indian citizenship? These questions raise some interesting and noteworthy points to remember:

  • India gives Tibetans the opportunity to become Indian citizens because they have realized giving Tibetans refugee status is worthless. As refugees, they do not help India but as citizens, they will be forced to contribute as members of Indian society. At the same time India needs to retain her humanitarian image and will not be able to revoke their refugee status or kick them out of the country without some kind of public relations nightmare.
  • If India allows Tibetans to become Indians, the CTA are silenced because they cannot be seen denying their people the citizenship and rights accorded to Indian nationals.
  • The Tibetans will no longer be an issue of contention between China and India if they become Indian nationals. When Tibetans become Indians, they are no longer ruled by the CTA but by the Indian government. This means China cannot criticize them because they are now Indian citizens. India can simply inform China not to interfere in the affairs of another country. Previously China would have felt they had basis to comment because China classed the Tibetans as Chinese citizens.
  • Western powers will no longer give the Tibetans money and funding as they will no longer be refugees but citizens of a democratic country. Why do citizens need financial support from external parties, when they have a legitimate government to petition for assistance? As a result, the CTA will lose their source of funding from sympathetic Western governments and private donors.
  • India cannot expel the Tibetans from their country because the Dalai Lama is extremely respected both in India and around the world. But the Indian government can encourage Tibetans to become Indian citizens instead, thereby removing their basis to complain about their refugee status or use their status as an excuse to cause trouble. This will mean that when His Holiness the Dalai Lama passes away and Tibetans want to riot, they can be easily controlled because they are Indians now and not Tibetans, and thus beholden to Indian law. India granting Tibetans this opportunity to become its citizens can therefore be seen as preparation for the passing of the Dalai Lama and for preventing any ensuing violence that may arise as a result of his passing.

All in all, India has been extremely benevolent and patient towards Tibetans for 60 years. Still, it is no surprise that they are doing this because they need to look out for their own country as well, and it is simply not pragmatic to risk the welfare of over 1 billion people for the complaints of 150,000 exiled Tibetans. So if the CTA keeps moving to block the Tibetans from gaining what is rightfully theirs, the Tibetan leadership might just very well find themselves under more pressure. Growing frustration on India’s part may mean that when it comes to the Tibetans, if the leadership complains too much or make things too difficult, the Indian leadership may just respond by making it even easier for Tibetans to become Indians, and thus drastically speeding up the inevitable – the demise of the CTA.

  1. I guess, one should make an effort to move if after 50 years or more, after a whole generation has grown up. Gaining a citizenship somewhere other than Tibet does not mean that one loses one’s identity. It merely means that one strives to survive and contribute in other ways to benefit their homeland. Without economic stability, one is merely surviving and unable to contribute much in many ways.

  2. After 60 years of no results. I think Indian passports is breath of fresh air for the Tibetans, also as many monks have gone back to China some prominent ones like Amchok Rinpoche, perhaps this is something to be considered seriously as well.

It is time this archaic and no results institution be dismantled once and for all, called CTA. CTA on top of many charges of corruption and nepotism, also encourages its people to immolate. The Tibetans immolation does nothing to shake China’s resolve or bring it to the negotiation table. So CTA, needs to be replaced, if you ask me.

  3. Oh my goodness! I really did not expect this or did not know any of this! I stumbled upon this website and I must say there is a whole lot about the exile Tibetan government I really did not know and yes I was one of those westerners who were basically “sucker” for their refugee stories. This article has shed some light into why so many, a majority of the Tibetan in exile are still stateless after so many years.

Wow Mr Lobsang sure does not sound like a good/trust worthy leader. How can you make your own people feel guilty and bad for choosing to settle in some country while you enjoy being an American citizen? And all this is because of money as usual. This is very very sad, I am totally dumbfounded how much they have been cheating the world literally. What has the Dalai Lama say about this? It seems like he is in it with them as well.

Gosh, I hope more Tibetan people will speak up and tell their true stories. This is definitely not right. Perhaps a new leadership needs to be installed? I for one will stop donating to the Tibetan cause… who knows where the money gets distributed to. No wonder I never get any updates after I’ve donated.

Shame Mr. Lobsang and your cronies for stealing from your people! Not only did you rob them of their money but their faith, trust and hope for a better future. Tibetans must speak up… you are after all living in a democratic country – India and you have your human rights. No one can take that away from you, no even the Tibetan exile administration.

  4. I Hope & Pray the CTA, give the opportunity for the Tibetans people who in India can apply India Passport, i am so confound & really can’t believe why CTA officer not allow to give the NOC to the Tibetan people to apply India Passport/ Citizenship.

even to day the any Tibetans holding any Country of Passport/Citizenship, they are still Tibetans, the blood will no change, and if they got India Passport/Citizenship Does not mean they give up the Tibetan Buddhism / the culture.

    it is very unfair treatment

    Thank You
    Untomable

  5. CTA is in a very bad situation by India opening the citizenship now. They felt the threat by loosing control over their people and most of all is loosing sympathy card to get fund from the world. Tibetan will get tired with the empty promise from their leaders and for the benefit of the younger generation getting Indian citizenship is the choice.

CTA has not done anything beneficial for their people for the past 60 years and never even work out anything beneficial with India for the future of their people. Yet now the Indian is offering citizenship for their people instead of chasing them out. Aren’t this a better solution? Why Tibetan Prime Minister Sikyong Lobsang Sangay can choose to be American citizen but not their people for Indian citizen?

From the eye of the world how could other countries keep funding CTA with their attitude which is not transparent with their fund, creating schism, discrimination and violence towards their people for spiritual differences such as Dorje Shugden practice, suppressing potential people that voice out to make a good change for Tibetan future and etc. have we heard anything good from the CTA?

Even university student question the Tibetan Prime Minster for his ineffectiveness. Look at how the educated young one even able to see how their leadership performed. Yet the CTA has not realise it and now creating more obstacle to stop their people from having better future from getting Indian citizenship. Mila Rangzen has table out all the important point of why CTA sabotaging their people from getting Indian citizenship here and the world is reading it and CTA is just revealing more and more negative side of them. Hope CTA can do something good for their people for once.

  6. The CTA has a “divide and conquer” mentality even with their own people, is CTA
down now, And Now “They” can.t control their youths.

Lobsang Sangay, Dhardon Sharling, and Gyari Dolma are themselves citizens of other countries. What is more, they have lived at least 20-30 years this way; the Tibetan youth have lived as Tibetan refugees THEIR WHOLE LIVES so who is more Tibetan now?

Quite Sad for all of them

  7. The objectives of the CTA have all along been about Money, Control, Power, for themselves. CTA do not give two hoots about their people’s welfare. With these three motivating factors, the CTA are enjoying the end result for themselves. To realise their objectives, the CTA stoop to as low as to demonise Dorje Shugden to split and weaken Tibetans. It is time for Tibetans to see and realise the objectives of CTA and Tibetans need to remove the wool that CTA have pulled over their eyes for so long. The issue is not about religious issues, it is about violation of human rights. And the violators are the CTA, a so called governing body without a state to govern.

  8. Well, if the Tibetans want to become an Indian citizen, why not? If I am a Tibetan, why do I want to continue to ‘suffer’ as a stateless person. As a citizen, I get to enjoy and do what any other citizens are doing. So what is so wrong about that? Well, CTA won’t get to do their ‘poor us’ stories and ask for more donations and sooner or later, they’d be ‘out of jobs’. Its one way or another. CTA keep surpassing their people, they will retaliate and look for better opportunities elsewhere. Nobody is ‘stupid’ all the time. Thank goodness the youth nowadays, read a lot and have so much knowledge from social media. But i do pity some of the Tibetans in exile who are still thinking that the CTA is great and kind. Even if I am not a Dorje Shugden practitioner, I don’t see what are the ‘good things’ that they have done for their people.

  9. For Tibetan refugees in Indian, having a Indian citizenship do not make them less Tibetan but only gain national status instead of being stateless at this point of time.
After all there are Chinese Americans, Japanese Americans and even Chinese Indians.

However, if Tibetans were to lose their refugees status how can they be still used by CTA to solicit funding for their cause. Obviously when Tibetans gain citizenship of India, their welfare will fall on the Indian Government and CTA will become obsolete and redundant.

As such CTA will not permit Tibetans to have such a kind offer from India and will continue to use them as scapegoats for a dead cause.

    Saddening!

  10. I am so pitiful of the Tibetans currently living in CTA “ruled” area. Yes I meant ruling because it seems so and have nowhere else to escape unless confined to limited access to financial, freedom and growth.

CTA is just using them. They will limit and mantain Tibetans in their poverty so that they won’t have money to go out of India. God knows if there are any proper schools in the Tibetan settlements. Limit the younger ones so that they will continue live under the regime of CTA.

CTA has to do this in order to keep using them for money and so that Tibetans will still be there for CTA to rule and continue using them.

  11. CTA’s power and control over their people will eventually be over when their people starts to take the Indian citizenship. I wonder whether Lobsang Sangay will start to panic or not. Will he do anything to save this situation or just let it be? Will he threaten the people if they change their citizenship? Actually, it is not up to Lobsang Sangay to decide, everyone of them has the rights to choose what they want. Whether or not they want to remain as Tibetans in exiled or change to Indian citizenship is totally up to the people’s decision. So, good luck to Lobsang Sangay to save the CTA.

  12. Money, power and control are one of 3 root delusion, ignorance. This is the main reason CTA kept raising this phenomenon. Moreover, it’s been repeating for more than 60 years!!Wow! What a profound determination they have. It is too bad CTA have made an erroneous assumption.

Barring citizenship of Tibetan in exile to India is an act of selfishness. CTA only want to benefit themselves other than their own people. Their decision causes so much hatred and dissatisfaction to India and as well the refugees. If you are the refugee, what is your choice? To remain as CTA’s “puppet” or as a free man..

  13. All Western powers agree that Tibet is an inalienable part of China , and the CTA leadership is still find way to make friends with western powers and this irritating China. In my opinion, all this is just make autonomy more difficult for Tibet in the long run.

And yet in the other side is Tibet in exile has been in India for 60 years, for those born and lived their whole lives in India are still seen as refugees and stateless, doesn’t that is unfair and impractical. They even have problem of freedom of movement within and outside India.

My opinion is the CTA is very selfish and they are motivation is just like what mentioned in the articles. CTA should not keep Tibetan in India remaining as a stateless people when Tibetans in other countries take citizenships of the host countries.

    Be compassion!

  14. CTA is just hopeless. Why can’t they show results after receiving donations? Build a good living environment for his citizens. How can they receive more donations if they failed to show results? What are they doing with the funds? I wonder is there any spy that checking them out such as their life style and how they spend their money personally.

  15. The greed for money and power is never end. The Tibetan refugees community in India are living in such a condition that being used by their own leaders to make money. After all these years, finally Tibetan refugees in India can escape from that and become India citizens yet manipulated by their own leadership again by threats and created lots of difficulties and doubts and confused to do so.

The CTA is going all out now to keep their Tibetans from having other countries’ passport. Well, they are the money trees to CTA! Once these people are gone, then CTA has nothing to depend on for their income any more.

What’s wrong with giving their own people a better life? A life that they do not have to called themselves a refugees anymore. They should even choose to go back Tibet, China. So that they can unite with their family.

    See this:
“Top CTA officials like Sikyong Lobsang Sangay, Dhardon Sharling, and Gyari Dolma are themselves citizens of other countries. What is more, they have lived at least 20-30 years this way; the Tibetan youth have lived as Tibetan refugees THEIR WHOLE LIVES so who is more Tibetan now? So if Tibetanness is measured by the passport one carries, and Tibetanness is the basis of someone being qualified to have an opinion or to lead the community, then by that logic the Tibetan leadership are the least qualified to do anything.”

Really funny!! Those that having foreign country passport are ruling the people yet their own Tibetan people have to stay poor and forever be refugees so that in order to bring in funds to feed those top CTA officials like Sikyong Lobsang Sangay, Dhardon Sharling, and Gyari Dolma for them to have a prosperous lives.

Wake up Tibetans. You got to find your way out. Do not let your CTA people brain wash you and take away your right for your future. Please be aware of their motivation is all their own selfish and greedy thoughts of keeping you so that they can get more out of you.

    OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SOHA

  16. It is a shame what the CTA is doing to their people! Since 60 years the Tibetans have to face the refugee situation and as far as we can see there is no betterment to see. Yet, they make the life of the Tibetans difficult to the point that they can not live a normal life. Yet, with the opportunity to become an Indian citizen, Tibetans can improve their lives and not be dependent on the CTA. Or, they can go back to Tibet, in China. Both ways are a solution to live their life. Yet, staying as a refugee, they are only dependent on the CTA.

Thank you to Mila Rangzen for explaining to everyone what the CTA does so clearly and in this way helping all his fellow Tibetans. May the Tibetan people find a home and security to build up their lives and find peace.

  17. How CTA control the tibetan in exile the truth has been explose with more eviden and the fact they did to the tibet refugee. If CTA ready concern and care for tibet refugee, they should stop all the lie and face their failure for tibet freedom. Many people around the world are knowing tibet refugee are suffering, but they can’t keep supporting hopeless exile government keep suppress tibetan refugee human right and use them as sympethy to raise fund from foreign countries. CTA should stop stand double standard using their poor suffering refugee. Over 60 year cheating and lying to tibetan refugee have to stop.

  18. That is nothing new about what CTA doing, they have no interest the Tibetan growth, but only for their own benefit, like what the article said, CTA has received so much money from various countries for so many years, but how come the Tibetan citizen still live in poverty? How come the whole settlement still so poor, then where does the money gone? It is a shame that CTA live in India, take from India, failed to take care of their people’s welfare and yet, still want to create obstacles for their people who want to get better benefit and growth, it shows how selfish their leaders is.

  19. Besides their greed for money and power, I think the CTA are a desperate band of people. If all Tibetans in exile, living their entire lives in India up till now, were to become Indian citizens, then there will be no basis for them to be a government, as there will be no one for them to govern. Unfortunately, if they selfishly cling on to power and keep the currently stateless Tibetans from applying for Indian citizens, a time will come soon enough. when the hospitality of the Indian government will wear out. The Indian government will claim back all the land from the Tibetans-in-exile.

When that ‘Dooms’ Day comes for all Tibetans in exile in India, the ones to suffer most will be the Tibetans who have remained because they have been too poor to buy their citizenships in Western countries, as the CTA and wealthy Tibetans have done. They will suffer the most because they will still be stateless, and will lose everything they now have -land,homes and all. What will happen to them then. The CTA will have to disband, but they will have a place to call home to go to in a foreign land. They will not be bothered to help these people, and will have no power to help them then.

I think that the CTA should be humane enough to think of their poor countrymen and women, who have trusted them all along. I think they should be doing something now for them rather than leave them to face an inevitably sad outcome.

  20. I like Mila Rangzen’s article “Is India citizenship for Tibetans a threat to the Tibetan cause?”. And especially his strategy no.7 on what to do. In fact, this point no.7 summed up the entire moving forward, it is just a matter of time.

    How so?
    1. The Tibetan in exile settlement used to be a political leverage for the India gov against Beijing. But as Sino-India relationship cozy up and when flexing economical muscle is better (and smarter) than flexing military muscle, Tibetans in exile becomes a burden. It is definitely in India’s interest to speed up merging the Tibetans settlement into his sovereignty so that it will not be a constant contention when it comes to cooperation negotiation with China.

    2. Since the beginning of time from the “exodus,” the Tibetan in exile lived as a proof of China’s inhumanity and lack of religious freedom. Today, China grants more religious freedom than Dharamsala did; Dorje Shugden issue is a good case in point. The existence of Tibetan in exile no longer serves any political purpose and the cause of fighting against Beijing diminishes with the passing of time and progression of human rights in the part of Beijing.

    3. There is nothing to show from the CTA or Dharamsala. Half a century had glided through with the Tibetan in exile still poor and barely educated. Preferably kept this way by the CTA so that they can parade the poor condition as a chip to get donation and funding. Unfortunately, this is a double edged sword. It also shows the world the CTA leadership is incapable of leading and bringing advancement to the people.

    4. Is the Tibetan in exile so precious that the world cannot live on without? Well, the single most precious possession that the Tibetan in exile “own” is His Holiness. The icon of Tibetan Buddhism, the king of Tibetans, and the representation of lamaism. But these values are also diminishing too. With modernization and technology, Tibetan Buddhism is spreading her wing on the digital frontier, entering into the world of people from the West and places it never reached before. Many renowned and erudite Lamas now reside in the West or had taught in the West, and incarnation of these high lamas are not limited amongst Tibetan as before. The wall that used to secure the mystical Tibetan Buddhism is crumbling as the world come closer through digitalization. Tibetan Buddhism no longer belongs to Dalai Lama alone, it now belongs to the world.

In conclusion, even if the world does nothing, CTA will sink into obsoletion. But it is better for them to resist less and start to deploy peace and harmony; because the more CTA struggles to stay relevant using hatred and schism, the more painful it will be felt by the Tibetans in exile.

  21. Here is a clear video of His Holiness the Dalai Lama asking the monasteries to expel monks that practice Dorje Shugden. Click here to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTgYWidYw3U

  22. Hello everyone, specially to our CTA Taxi union president Lobsang Sangay and his beneficiary Kashag members and followers,
I am Chokyi I worked in Exile government 15 years.

When Lobsang Sangay fcame to Dharamsala leadership, I researched 2 years through what I have seen and what I listened from him personally. Lobsang Sangay have no personal skill and capability to solve the issues of Tibetans in India. He have only a paper degree from Harvard that’s called R….R….R, which means big talk in Tibetan. I feel so much pity on those uneducated Tibetans who set themselves on fire and burned their bodies. Each self-immolation brought a huge benefit to CTA financially. After every self-immolation Lobsang Sangay and his Kashag members have tour programs under the name of Tibetan political issues to introduce to western countries. Mostly, they travel first/business class. But, once they reached destination Lobsang Sangay asked donations to CTA. This is Sangay’s number 1 capability to ask donors in the name of self- immolation. So, I have known much better what Lobsang Sangay real doing. That’s why I resigned from my post and living independently in US now. Here I humbly request to all ordinary Tibetan people in exile. Plz go to apply for western or Indian citizenship as soon as possible. This is only way how you and your children survive a better life. Don’t listen CTA leaders big talks. Becoz, when you don’t have money to pay your children’s school fees. CTA can’t help you. When your father got serious sickness CTA can’t help you. When your mother died CTA can’t help you. But, CTA will use you for donations in name of seeking help for Tibetans. That donations they will corrupt at the end. Therefore, do something for yourself. Don’t let others use you. This is real experience that I got from CTA in 15 years working from down to earth. Don’t waste your life in CTA’s misuses.

  23. Thank you for showing the world just how backward the Tibetan government is. This is what many of my friends and family have been thinking for years. They always try to control their people and don’t treat everyone equally. If they treated us equally and with harmony and respect, we would have made progress with Tibet because we would have been united.

  24. Very sad the only REAL leader the Tibetans produced in the last 60 years is Dalai Lama. Dalai Lama is 82 and how many more years can he ‘lead’ his people in exile and never getting his country back? It has been so long now.

Dalai Lama’s policy for Tibet in making friends with western powers and criticizing China is not working out. How do we know? It has been 60 years since Tibetans have been refugees and they still remain ‘refugees’ depending on handouts and free aid and free money. Pathetic.

Losang Sangye is a big degree holder and his degree is not worth the paper it’s printed on. He can do nothing and has done nothing except become ‘close’ friend with Sharling Dhardon. Their ‘closeness’ is the talk of all Dharamsala.

Losang Sangye and any ‘leader’ will not have real power but simply the puppets of the all powerful god king Dalai Lama who is the real power behind the throne.

    Darling

  25. If it was not for Buddhism, no one would listen to the Dalai Lama!! The Dalai Lama gives the Kalacakra, gives self help speeches, sermons, prayers, rituals and wears the maroon dress to vast crowds. The maroon dress he wears is really a good marketing method although it is not meant to be. All these Buddhist events is what gathers the crowd to Dalai Lama. If you look at the Dalai Lama himself, besides being a smiley, shrewd and intelligent person, what does he have to attract people? Removing all from him that is Buddhist, what does the Dalai Lama have that is different than any other groups or deposed leaders that the world does not listen to. Dalai Lama owes all this to Buddhism. Therefore he should make harmony within the Buddhist community. How he is segregating certain sects with his rhetoric is dangerous. He is expelling people here clearly due to only a difference in religion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTgYWidYw3U&t=6s I was personally shocked to see this. I have met some Tibetan government leaders in Tokyo and privately they told me, they were also shocked that the Dalai Lama would say this and none of them dare advise him otherwise. They felt after Dalai Lama’s expulsion of people and in such a angry manner, it will not bode well in the future within Tibetan Buddhism which is the basis of his power. You can see in the video how angry the Dalai Lama seems to be. The Tibetan government persons in Japan also mentioned that the Dalai Lama listened to his oracle Nechung’s advice to ban this sect within Buddhism. Dalai Lama relies heavily on this Nechung god taking trance (oracle) for all his moves. Nechung is even summoned in the Dalai Lama’s private quarters to give prophecies:- http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x62ocw1

It bewilders his followers why Dalai Lama relies so heavily on Nechung when he is suppose to be an avatar of a god Avalokita himself. Nechung is invited to most of his public events to do his dance and prophecies. Many Tibetans such as MP Tenpa Yarphel are not happy and speaking up finally: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIP-vLuTnpw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dB_ISn6eY0Y&t=1688s . The over-reliance on Nechung demeans the Dalai Lama they feel and makes their government backwards. No modern governments consult gods and oracles for every move and if they do, they should not show this publicly. This is not a case of transparency but the Dalai Lama has not trained good advisers skilled in world politics by his side obviously to advise him and uses a god instead. Till now Nechung after 60 years has not proven correct. Nechung has not secured Tibet back. It was in fact in 2012 that Nechung told his monk Dorje Dalai Lama will go back to Tibet very soon, but it has not happened. Dorje is so ecstatic of this Nechung prophecy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIDZLzXIgW8 . The prophecy proved to be wrong again by Nechung unfortunately for Dorje and the rest of the hopefuls.

Losang Sangay is too busy with Sharling Dhardon and this is well known among the Tibetans. Without the Dalai Lama backing him up or promoting him, he is nothing and no one will listen to him. That is why everyone in the ‘Tibetan government’ are careful not to offend or displease the Dalai Lama who is the real power behind the throne. If you displease the king, you will be removed from the limelight and that means no more access to money, perks and foreigners who will give you money. Losang Sangay has made zero progress with talks with China since he ‘took office’. Whatever office that is. This shows his priority is not the Tibetans inside and outside of Tibet but to fill his own pockets before the King passes. Basically milk the cow while he can. Sad but that is the situation.

I posted this ‘pictograph’ here of Sharling and Lobsang floating on the internet when you google. Interesting. I guess the Tibetans are not happy with Lobsang Sangay and Sharling who is really outspoken to her own detriment!

  26. Member of Parliament Tenpa Yarphel is a hero. He is speaking up for free speech and freedom of expression. He is exercising his rights, he is standing up for logical democracy which is the only way forward and not having to contact spirits like Nechung via oracles to make decisions that impact people’s lives. But look how people speak about him in the comments, so rude and nasty. It really represents the Dalai Lama badly as they are supporting Dalai Lama beings so rude: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=if2dFMKIr_8

They say we need to believe in Nechung and follow what he says. But in 2009 Nechung said the Dalai Lama would go back to Tibet and that everyone would be happy. A monk from Nechung Monastery is the one that told everyone about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIDZLzXIgW8. But Nechung was wrong. It has been eight years and this has not happened. The Dalai Lama did not return to Tibet. Nechung being consulted by Tibetan government in exile is backwards. No governments do this in the civilized world.

When people like Tenpa Yarphel speak up and are real patriots of the Tibetan people, they are attacked by other people. In fact people even protest like this man who shaves his hair: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M30NL4hG8oA. People like these are actually protesting against Tenpa Yarphel’s democratic rights and freedom of speech. Tibetans by criticizing Tenpa Yarphel shows they are far from democracy. Besides many of the other Kagyu leaders such as Drigung Chetsang Rinpoche, Drukchen Rinpoche, Karmapa Thaye Dorje all did not say anything against Tenpa Yarphel that represents the Kagyus.

Dalai Lama had said that is his minister of cabinet in the government. Even though it is clear that Nechung is unreliable and a spirit, the Dalai Lama continues to rely heavily on Nechung and other oracles who take trance of spirits. He invites Nechung to all his events and allow him to take trance in centre stage always. In fact the Dalai Lama even calls the oracles to his own private bedroom: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x62ocw1.

These practices show how Tibetan government is run.

  27. The Dalai Lama is so old and he can pass anytime. Beijing is waiting for that. Beijing has full control of Tibet and nothing to fear. Dalai Lama and his government negotiates with Beijing or not does not matter. It’s a small matter in fact. Tibet will never have another King so powerful like Dalai Lama and so influential.

Actually if Lobsang Sangye was smart, he would do his best to negotiate with China for a better deal for autonomy for Tibet while Dalai Lama is alive. With Dalai Lama alive, he will have more weight and backing. So why doesn’t Lobsang Sangye do so? The reason why Lobsang Sangye does not work hard to negotiate with China is because he does not care about the people. If the Dalai Lama dies, he is rich with big houses and he just moves on. He is in his position for the perks and wealth and US Passport which he has now. So why should he worry?

    😖

  28. Sharling Dhardon and Lobsang Sangay are always together. Very close. They launched the book against Dorje Shugden practice together. Together they can authorized the spending of thousands of US dollars for commissioning a book against Dorje Shugden to further isolate and segregate the Tibetans who continue with their faith in Dorje Shugden. They do this to please the Dalai Lama so their money-making posts will be secure. They only want money.

After the launching of the book against Dorje Shugden practitioners, they went down to Delhi to be at an expensive hotel and delicious five star dinner to enjoy their victory together.😘

  30. Tibetan parliament MP Ms Lhagyari Namgyal Drolkar attacks Chinese Dalai Lama student.

Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar who is an MP of the Tibetan ‘parliament’ in Dharamsala seems to like to make trouble. She was recently in Paris on an all-expense-paid luxury trip to have meetings against the Dalai Lama’s middle way. They stayed in nice hotels, enjoyed the cafes and went sight-seeing also. She and other independence (rangzen) activists gathered together to have a meeting on how to oppose the Dalai Lama’s middle way. If you are having a meeting on rangzen, then naturally you are opposing the Dalai Lama’s views. She is against the Dalai Lama as blatantly as it can get. She advocates full independence for Tibet which Professor Samdhong Rinpoche the former prime minister said is very dangerous. 🇨🇳Samdhong Rinpoche said clearly that Rangzen activists and supporters are the most dangerous people in Tibetan society. Because they go against what the Dalai Lama is asking the world to support which is autonomy of Tibet under China. Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar is seen in these pictures in October 2017 in Dharamsala fighting violently with a female Chinese tourist from the USA. 😠This Chinese woman Ms. Wen Qi Zhu had just had audience with the Dalai Lama as you can see in the pictures. But when she left the audience after blessings she was affronted by a CTA member Ms. Lhagyari violently on the streets just below the Dalai Lama’s nose. A random video was taken of this event and in the video Ms. Wen Qi Zhu was saying she is also a student of the Dalai Lama. She has also contributed to the donations of the recent teachings by Dalai Lama to cover the expenditure.😡

Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar is an MP of the CTA and she should conduct herself with more decorum and good manners since she is representing the Dalai Lama’s government. Often they are violent. Of course Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar has the democratic rights to post, protest and speak for Tibet in Dharamsala, but she should also be ready for opposition. Opposition even in Dharamsala must be tolerated as it is a democratic India. 👍Some may be shocked someone opposes Ms. Lhagyari’s views in Dharamsala the headquarters of the Dalai Lama, but that just shows you how arrogant some Tibetans may be thinking if you oppose their views, they can violently strike back. Democracy only works for Tibetans so they think and it should not work against them is their convoluted thinking. Many in the audience may not agree with Ms. Lhagyari Namygal Drolkar’s views on Tibet and as an elected official of the Tibetan government, she should be more courteous, polite and explain things well and not resort to a catfight with a paying tourist. After all she is the official and representative of the government. She should educate the masses and not violently fight with them. She should resign as obviously she is not fit for this job.👎 It is a disgrace and shame. After all the paying tourist Ms. Wen Qi Zhu has every right to protest back or speak against the view of Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Drolkar, since India is democratic and allows freedom of speech which goes both ways.👍 Some Tibetans have to learn manners, being polite and accepting that the world is not going to agree with them on everything anymore. Tibetans have to accept their 60 years of playing up the refugee card while living well in India and immigrating all over the world will not gain sympathy anymore. The CTA or Tibetan government in exile have many policies that divide and segregate their own people on the basis of religion so now that they are getting some of their own karma back, why are they upset?🙏

Here is an article on how Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar went to Paris for a rangzen meeting against the Dalai Lama: http://www.dorjeshugden.com/all-articles/news/tibetan-mp-juchen-konchok-and-friends-oppose-the-dalai-lamas-middle-way/

  31. Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar is an MP of the CTA and she should immediatly resign and give honor to the disonorable CTA or Central Tibetan Administration in Dharamsala. She is an elected official. She should not fight with the tourists and spectators. If she is going to post things about Tibet, she has accept there will be people who do not accept what she is posting and be ready for opposition but not using violence. If the spectator gets violent, then Ms. Lhagyari should immediately go to the police and run from the scene. The police station is very nearby. Do not stand around and have violent interaction with people walking by. It does not look good as an MP of the Tibetan government in exile under the Dalai Lama. MP Ms. Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar is a disgrace and should resign.👎

    👎🙏☹️😣👎🙏

  32. Dalai Lama does not want independence for Tibet and Rangzen-fighting Tibetans are going against the Dalai Lama. Rangzen-fighting Tibetans are hardcore separatists, most likely taking Chinese money to create schism.

The attached Times of India article shows very clearly what the Dalai Lama wants. Rangzen Tibetans and activists are 100% against Dalai Lama and Tibetan nation.

  33. Dalai Lama does not want independence for Tibet but autonomy. All Rangzen-fighting Tibetans are going against the Dalai Lama. They are hardcore separatists and most likely taking Chinese money to create schism. See the attached Times of India article, it is very clear what the Dalai Lama wants. Rangzen Tibetans and activists are 100% against Dalai Lama and Tibetan nation.

  34. You can see attached the comment on this Youtube video showing how Tibetans are really ungrateful, greedy and nasty. The Indians are angry and they have a right to be angry after hosting the Tibetans for 60 years. Yet instead of being grateful, the Tibetans lash back. Even calling the Indian students “COMMUNIST CHINA PAID DOGS” and other vulgarities. Very racist. Anything Tibetans don’t like, they call you a China spy or China money-eating agent. Even the Indian nationals now are berated as China dogs. No wonder Indians are protesting for Tibetans to go back! This is happening while the Dalai Lama is alive for after he passes, it will completely degenerate and the Indians will take action and expel the ungrateful refugees.

    TibetansYoutube

  35. Tibetans are being rejected by Indians right now in India! Tibetans use India. Everyone can see clearly the Tibetans don’t respect India and are very racist. Indians are tired of this and want them out. Now big protests in the hundreds are happening in Arunachal Pradesh state of India demanding Tibetans go back to Tibet. The people there are tired of the Tibetans and do not welcome them anymore. After 60 years, why are the Tibetans still refugees? If they can go western country, they will go because India is NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE USERS. They put India down. They only stay in India if they cannot go to another country. They never get Indian citizenship because they want foreign citizenship. Shame. In India, they never pay taxes. They never join army to defend India. They never build hospitals, half way houses, orphanages or get money from foreign aid to help India. They never build anything for Indians and we have so many poor Indians in India. Look at the foreigner Mother Teresa how much she did for India and she did so much for Indians in Calcutta but Tibetans do nothing. Not a charitable race. Their Dalai Lama never set up orphanages, schools, soup kitchens for the poor or set up scholarship for Indians. He lived in India for 60 years and give nothing back but take and use Indian land. The Tibetans lived in India for 60 years but they contribute nothing to India. Only complain and Indians are now going to speak up. The SUMAA students said the protests against Tibetans are only beginning and there will be more.

After 60 years in India, the Tibetans still call themselves refugees. They are not genuine refugees. Why? They call themselves refugees and not get Indian passport so their Tibetan ‘government’ in Dharamsala can continue to market them to western countries and Japan to give them money. To get free money. Tibetan leaders love free money. Tibetans have big houses, nice cars and can travel to other countries. The Dalai Lama temples in Dharamsala have gold idols and gold paintings and live in very high luxury. Tibetan leaders already get money in the US billions in aid and yet they never improve. The Tibetans always say they have no opportunities in India. Why they say that? Because they are saying they are too good for India.

They say they want autonomy with China but they fly the Tibetan flag on Indian soil. If they want autonomy, they should fly the Chinese flag and show China government they are serious to sit and talk. They are always lying. They protest against China on Indian soil making problems between India and China. India is not responsible for Tibetans. Tibetans should not make China India’s enemy. Don’t be selfish. China is not India’s problem. Tibetans should solve the problems themselves.

Tibetan leaders only want money, money and more free things. They always make segregation among their people due to regional differences and religion. Look how they supress the Dorje Shugden religion and their own Dorje Shugden Tibetans cannot join in their schools or Dalai Lama’s talks and ceremonies. They treat the Dorje Shugden people like the low castes in India. Their Tibetan people cannot stand up on their own become something because their leaders want everything for free. When they go to western countries, they lose their culture, religion and language and pay a heavy price. Their children become more like the adopted country’s culture and people. Their ‘government’ in Dharamsala block them from getting Indian citizenship so they can continue using their fake refugee status to get money from the west. When India is so generous to give them citizenship, their own Tibetan minister in Dharamsala block this.

Now Indians had enough and want Tibetans to get out and go home!

  36. Within the Tibetan communities in India, there is no free speech and how Tibetans insult each other and would even insult foreigners by calling them Chinese agents just because you speak up and this is suppose to silence you. All of this began with the Tibetan CTA. Nonetheless, there are a handful of Tibetans who had enough and they dare to speak the truth and in this case, Tenpa Yarphel speaks against Nechung and veiled statements about the Shugden ban – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuKOjcpLH8A
And then there are people who would oppose his view by shaving his head. Very silly.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M30NL4hG8oA

  37. Chokyong Nechung is wrong! Nechung in this video said that Dalai Lama is going back to China and that was five years ago? What happened? Why are we even listening to him ever again. He always make mistakes. 😱

  38. Let’s face it… there is NO REAL FREEDOM of SPEECH for us Tibetans living under the ruling of the CTA and Dalai Lama. The Tibetan communities in India all sufer this fate and we live in lies and deception of a FAKE DEMOCRACY.

Just watch how Tibetans insult and backstab each other and would even dare insult people they do not know, calling them Chinese dogs/Chinese spies is the only thing they can say and the label they give you the moment you dare to speak up. This is done to shut you up and to indicate to other Tibetans to attack you because they make you sound like you are a traitor and this is how they get all to turn against you. This is how the Tibetan CTA deals with people they feel threatened. All because of power and position.

However, there are a few brave Tibetans who basically had enough of their deception and begin to speak up, to tell the truth. A good example is Tenpa Yarphel who bravely stood up and talked about Nechung and the inconsistency and FAILED prophesies… also the ridiculous heavy reliance on him for everything. Where on earth do you ever see any government relying on “mystical Gods” to help them make state decisions? Even if they did, they would not dare tell anyone because this is 2017 not the medieval times. Just watch – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuKOjcpLH8A

Then you have the small-minded, sheep like followers, shaving their hair – like WOW big deal, to protest against Tenpa Yarphel. Lololol
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M30NL4hG8oA

  39. Question to Tibetan exile government, Central Tibetan Administration – CTA: Hey this Geshe Dorje interprets Nechung’s prophecy saying the Dalai Lama will go back to Tibet five years ago, but look, Dalai Lama still cannot go back. Watch… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIDZLzXIgW8

Not only that, there is still NO sign of even creating a good relationship for a chance to go back! So we are all stuck and still nowhere near going back to Tibet. So why on earth are we still listening to this spirit Nechung who always makes mistakes and give wrong prophecies? Nechung even killed the 13th Dalai Lama by giving him the wrong medicine. So WHY are we still listening to him for? Why are we Buddhist following what a spirit says? If we can follow Nechung spirit so why condemn Dogyal? This is weird and wrong!

  40. Lobsang Sangay at the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Tibetan Settlement Office, Dharamsala: https://youtu.be/eInTi-E9na8

Losang Sangay said recently (October, 2017) in Dharamsala that Tibetans have two enemies: the outer and inner enemy. The outer enemies are the Chinese government and Dorje Shugden people. The inner enemy is the people who speak against about our Tibetan affairs like regional differences and religious differences. (He didn’t say this directly but he means people like Tenpa Yarphel who spoke up in the Parliament). He said out of the two enemies, the worse one is the inner enemy.

Now the Tibetans have started a new Facebook page specifically against Tenpa Yarphel. Tibetans are protesting against him: http://bit.ly/2ysowTH

And there is a video of Tibetans with Tenpa Yarphel’s name on the paper against him and asking him to resign: http://bit.ly/2zAH2af

  41. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is a a dedicated advocate for the principles of democracy. In September this year, Tibetans in India celebrates the 57th anniversary of the establishment of the democratic path in the running of the Tibetan people’s political system. Sadly, it’s all lip service.

Look at the recent incident of MP Tenpa Yarphel speaking up. Tenpa Yarphel has the right to speak and express his opinion, especially because he is a representative of the people, a Member of Parliament. He was criticized for issuing irresponsible statements, watch this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuKOjcpLH8A

What is absurd is that there are even people protesting against his opinion, and shaving their hair in protest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M30NL4hG8oA

Tenpa Yarphel was accused of being sectarian, but the reality is that because of Nechung’s advice, Dorje Shugden practitioners were segregated, discriminated and ostracized from the Tibetan community in general all around the world. This MP is perhaps tired of seeing the separation and finally found the courage to speak up for the unity of the Tibetan people in exile.

  42. Nechung oracle is not reliable. Many times his predictions wrong.

He didn’t help when british invaded tibet in 1904. he gave wrong medicine to 13th dalai lama which caused His holiness’s death. he said in the past Tibetans going back to Tibet. In 2009, this Geshe Dorje read out what Nechung oracle said. How many years passed, negotiation talk never resume after Lobsang Sangay become Sikyong.

Why we still believe Nechung? Watch this short clip, see how confident this Geshe was explaining, but it never came true:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIDZLzXIgW8

  43. What is the CTA for a club? Going around pretending to be a democracy and only because of HH Dalai Lama they can make some foreign people believe it but it seems that karma is coming back.

The CTA is suppressing their own people and having a good life with the money originally meant for the Tibetan people. On top, their elections are a farce!

Listen here to Tenpa Yarphel who questions about the reliance of the Tibetan Government to Nechung, an oracle, which is understandable already but on top Nechung’s predictions seem to create more problems than anything else. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuKOjcpLH8A

What happens to Tenpa Yarphel now that he speaks up? Tibetans have started a Facebook page against Tenpa Yarphel and protest against him: http://bit.ly/2ysowTH. They even ask Tenpa Yarphel to resign: http://bit.ly/2zAH2af

So much for the “Democracy” in the Tibetan Government!!

  44. Unfortunately, the dream of Tibetan democracy is nothing but that. Look at this brave Tenpa Yarphel speaking up against the spirit Nechung (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuKOjcpLH8A). He brings up a good point, the Tibetans rely more on a spirit than they do on democratic principles and their own intelligence and care for their own people.

But these Tibetans themselves are so enamored with the spirit that they protest against Tenpa Yarphel, lame protests, but protests nonetheless, like this man who cut off his hair (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M30NL4hG8oA). I really don’t understand how this is a protest, but each to their own I guess.

Personally, I don’t really think much of the Tibetans who follow their lame government. I’ve seen first-hand just how much the average Tibetan suffers under their current leadership and this just goes to show that their government is ineffective and schismatic. But one thing about this whole situation is somewhat promising, there is a silver lining, and that is the point was raised by a Tibetan MP within their parliament. He wouldn’t have done so if other people in the Tibetan community did not feel the same way. It is time for Tibetan to free themselves of a superstitious, money-grabbing, self-serving, and impotent government.

  45. Tibetan government are useless, they rely on Nechung https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuKOjcpLH8A

Any you know what, their supporters even cut their hair off because they don’t agree with MP. This guy funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M30NL4hG8oA

    What this going to change?

  46. The Tibetan government keep relying on Nechung for everything, though all his predictions and advice cause more damage than harm. Is it even wise to follow his advice, I mean he was wrong about His Holiness the Dalai Lama returning to Tibet in five years https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIDZLzXIgW8

That was in 2009, we are now in 2017, which was 8 years ago. Is his advice really trust worthy? I wonder why the Tibetan government even continue to listen to him. Perhaps they get something out of it?

  47. This ashrao posted this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIDZLzXIgW8

What he said is true. I couldn’t believe it at first, because I never heard my parents or relatives tell much such things before. But when I asked my uncle who is a monk, he told me it is true. He said that Nechung gave bad advice and has continued to give bad advice. My uncle said that even many of the monks and high lamas don’t even believe in anything Nechung says. Better to say no rather than listening to his advice from now on. My parents were shocked. They used to go and see Nechung oracle when they were in India, but luckily I was able to move them to the USA. Now we better off. I can’t believe that the government still listen to the Nechung.

  48. It’s quite refreshing to have someone from the parliament speaking up and raising questions about the unjustness that’s been happening within its own “government”. Tenpa Yarphel is extremely brave to speak up like that, Tibetans HAVE TO WATCH IT! 👍

Contemplate This

.…Instead of turning away people who practise Dorje Shugden, we should be kind to them. Give them logic and wisdom without fear, then in time they give up the ‘wrong’ practice. Actually Shugden practitioners are not doing anything wrong. But hypothetically, if they are, wouldn’t it be more Buddhistic to be accepting? So those who have views against Dorje Shugden should contemplate this. Those practicing Dorje Shugden should forbear with extreme patience, fortitude and keep your commitments. The time will come as predicted that Dorje Shugden’s practice and it’s terrific quick benefits will be embraced by the world and it will be a practice of many beings.
